A big showdown tonight I hope.

Thanks to Zero (I think?) for the great title.

I wonder if they're at all conflicted? Suddenly you have several weeks of more lines than you've had in twenty years - but you don't recognise yourself...

I'm glad Tony has calmed down a bit but I don't think the SWs are giving enough space to just how much they must miss Tom. Even though he was a complete pain and every familial encounter was bruising it would feel so strange not to have him constantly bounding in and ordering everyone about.

I caught a glimpse yesterday of some other TA forum - they were using phrases like "the beginning of the end"... I did some swift la-la-la-Ing but...

We haven't seen much of the First Offspring lately. And the SWs wrongfooted themselves somewhat. For months it's been "oh Pip will need her room soon -" and now we hear she's gone off to share a student house/ flat with friends. It's coming to something when you concentrate the cast down to not having any Brookfield children....

PetulaGordino · 14/10/2014 09:19

did she? i wasn't listening then

i don't remember lots of cheating at university either, but maybe i wasn't paying attention

Hakluyt · 14/10/2014 09:20

Has there been any talk at all between Helen and Rob about money?

ppeatfruit · 14/10/2014 09:21

Yes I never thought of Adam as being a calculated serial shagger but it does seem that way. AND WHERE"S IAN?????

unitarian · 14/10/2014 09:40

Yes, WHERE's IAN?

GypsyFloss · 14/10/2014 10:00

I didn't get the feeling that Adam did DTD with Charlie. I think he was more confused that Charlie was a bit coyly flirty with him and then bogged off without a word. Which, coming from the man who generally has an opinion on everything and appears unexpectedly everywhere , is confusing.

I agree that we haven't had much Tom angst but I wonder if that's thanks to the arrival of RJ .I'd quite like a Christmas showdown at Bridge Farm where Tom returns, having got his head around being the second best to John, only to find the son of John firmly with his feet under the table

ppeatfruit · 14/10/2014 10:10

I reckon it was more than 'coy' Gypsy The SWs want to confuse us deliberately IMO! What did Charlie say? Something like "The best things come to he who waits….." !!

unitarian · 14/10/2014 10:23

It's 6 months now since Tom left and they have heard that he's got a job, place to live, maybe even enjoying himself. They've got over the shock, are running the farm the way they want without his constant bombshells and have accepted that a grown up offspring has fled the nest. (I also couldn't stand any more of Tony's hysteria so I'm pleased he has mellowed.)

But it would be terrific if Tom came home at Christmas to find life has moved on without him and he's not the centre of the universe.

I'm disappointed that no one followed up on Rob's part in the flit to Canada though. It was sneaky him quietly arranging it, knowing how to contact him when everyone else was worried to death and his mother feared suicide. And didn't he advise Tom to cut costs by using non-organic feed?

GypsyFloss · 14/10/2014 10:44

Was Adam wracked with guilt over Pavel ? I just didn't hear that in him last night. I heard his confusion over Charlie opening up and then disappearing without a word.

Also , would the SW really have two infidelity stories on the go at once? Given that the R/L affair is also throwing into focus JD's knowledge and acceptance of Brine's dalliances. If so, it's all getting a bit shagfesty for Ambridge

WipsGlitter · 14/10/2014 13:36

As someone upthread said, how can Helen just decide to jack her job in and not worry about money or whatever?

I also can't believe Ruth and David would drag one ancient parent to live close to another ancient parent.

ppeatfruit · 14/10/2014 13:42

It could backfire if Rob decides to go off and live with Jess and her baby again or just has to support her and sprog. I was working out that a Feb. conceived baby would be born around November. So quite possible.

Hakluyt · 14/10/2014 13:44

Who actually owns Ambridge ORganics?

PetulaGordino · 14/10/2014 13:47

is it owned by bridge farm (however that is organised, never been clear to me)

ppeatfruit · 14/10/2014 13:48

Yes P & T were saying it's OUR shop.

PetulaGordino · 14/10/2014 15:03

actually it goes to show that ruth has form for suggesting they move away when things get uncertain at brookfield

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/10/2014 15:16

About time!

But interesting that they don't reveal the exact extent of the sibling shares...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 14/10/2014 15:48

Apparently he has form for changing character bios etc so he can follow the story he wants.

It would be a bit odd for Elizabeth to have agreed to anything less than a quarter tbh.

We will find out soon what KD has planned but if its not a major fight with lizzie demanding her quarter then I will be pissed off!

ErrolTheDragon · 14/10/2014 16:31

D&R will probably find that between the planning blight and the other shares, they've barely enough for a cottage and smallholding.

So, Lynda defecting to the wonderfully-named FLOPS? Hm.... I think she will be spurned and will rise magnificently for a revenge production.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 14/10/2014 16:36

I hoping that Lynda will not be spurned but will 'innocently' sabotage the FLOPS production somehow

ErrolTheDragon · 14/10/2014 16:51

Someone was wondering how old Joe and Bert are - Joe is 93, but Bert is a mere 78, so perfectly reasonable for someone hale and hearty who's always been physically active to still be doing serious gardening.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 14/10/2014 16:53

Thanks for that, Petula! Fascinating. I'd forgotten how long and drawn out it all was, also that they were thinking of going to Normandy.

Not KD's plan, BYOS. He is a scriptwriter and web producer. Sean O'Connor is the Editor. Do you mean S O'C has form for changing bios? From EastEnders?

Oh, and Elizabeth can huff and puff all she likes but she can't insist on anything. She has her B shares and can expect no more than what they bring, which interestingly Keri specifically states are very unlikely to be worth as much as a quarter of Brookfield's market value.

Very pleased they have actually remembered the B shares and brought that into the story!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 14/10/2014 16:53

The FLOPS people will be rude, disrespectful and hopelessly amateur. Lynda will take one huge sniff and step smartly away, knowing she can do far better at home.

There will be an Ambridge show of some sort.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 14/10/2014 16:55

Sadly, it's FLOS but FLOPS is a much better name. Felphersham Light Operatic Society, I believe. Is Larry Lovell still involved with FLOS? He and Lynda hate each other's guts so it would be good fun to hear more sparring between them. Larry had a bit of a soft spot for Jill, I seem to recall.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 14/10/2014 16:56

Presumably Freda is also in her late 70s. As far as we know, she is still doing all the cooking at The Bull, day in, day out. Hmmm. Hmm
