How about we immortalise Schrodinger's Baby in the opening paragraph?

How long will this thread last DadDadDad?

Wasn't PC Harrassment dumped on Valentine's day too? Maybe his actual ex (not his slightly sinister pursuit of Fallon) found him an odd combination of dull-yet-irritating too.

trevortrevorslattery · 23/09/2014 09:32

Ugh PC Harrassment is right. I don't know why he wanted to go over it again.. take a hint FFS!

I hope that is the end of their relationship now. Did someone say on a previous thread that they thought Elizabeth and the PC would get together? They deserve each other

Davros · 23/09/2014 10:17

Is his uniform made of crimplene? She'll be straight in there!

ppeatfruit · 23/09/2014 11:18

Notice who guessed Granma Lil would step in to save
the rained off naming ceremony (not really a stealth boast!).

Loved Leonie giving lifestyle advice to Fallon Grin "The only true creativity is breeding"!!! That'll go down well with all TA listeners!

Did anyone else wonder where Jill's furniture has gone? And if it hasn't gone where's Carol's?

I prophesy trouble with a capital T between Carol and quite a few villagers with her directness rudenesss! Or maybe she's there to confront Hazel with swords drawn!

unitarian · 23/09/2014 11:51

I predict Carol will deeply offend Susan thus providing Jennifer with an unwelcome ally.

cheminotte · 23/09/2014 13:52

What should Ptolemy's sister be called then? [curious]
Has Carol moved back permanently then?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 23/09/2014 14:00

Cleopatra?

Re Carol - yes, until the SWs tire of her or Eleanor Bron has had enough!

Icimoi · 23/09/2014 14:12

I resent the fact that the SWs didn't let us hear the scene when Matt handed over the knitted pot plant. Or the subsequent scene between him and Fagash.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/09/2014 14:49

I'd missed the earlier Carol episodes during the hols - actually I quite liked it, may be a bit of an obvious device but I'm enjoying hearing some of the history from back before when I started listening (as opposed to just having them bickering in the background at teatime).

unitarian · 23/09/2014 17:00

The Ptolemaic pharaohs traditionally married their sisters. Apologies for a joke in bad taste.

OddFodd · 23/09/2014 19:25

Caroline and Oliver live!

cheminotte · 23/09/2014 19:27

Thanks Unitarian I knew there was a reference I wasn't getting!
Do you think Henry's illness is significant?

mummytime · 23/09/2014 19:29

Whats wrong with Henry?
I was half expecting the hounds to have got a fox and Henry to wake up to see it.
Rob is very good at being nasty isn't he, gets her out hunting and carefully playing its the "its just sport, nothing to do with killing foxes" line.

Johnnie is interesting too, as he hasn't even be brought up with the Organic line, I don't think he's even thought about that aspect.

Nice to hear Caroline and Oliver, and Caroline is after the gossip.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/09/2014 19:33

Wonder what's wrong with Henry?

Nice to hear Caroline again.

GypsyFloss · 23/09/2014 20:46

Hmmm, I wondered whether Rob had given Henry something to make him ill. Mind you I also wondered whether he was going to push Helen off her horse Grin

Bluestocking · 23/09/2014 20:58

Dear old Olly Foxbreath was in fine form, wasn't he? And we found out that there's no chance of a job for Roy at GG.

The hunt was a little bit disappointing - I thought the SWs would at the very least have the hounds disembowel a fox in front of Helen, or have her attempt a difficult fence and cripple Pandora, or have the whole hunt gallop over Pat and Moany and The Magickal Babe.

PrincessFiorimonde · 24/09/2014 00:09

Just catching up with the thread.

unitarian, your Ptolemy reference made me Grin as it did immediately make me think of Cleopatras they we have known.

I wondered about Henry too.

I was also surprised to hear Caroline and Oliver back on the payroll in action. What dastardly plot device are they about to serve?

WaltzingWithBares · 24/09/2014 08:26

Yes, I agree Bluestocking. Wasn't entirely convinced either that if the hounds got a whiff of a fox they'd be called off so promptly and easily. Wouldn't they have all charged after it with joyous abandon?

I may be extra cynical coming from an area where a hunt near me were actually breeding foxes!! (Before foxhunting was banned I hasten to add).

New shiny name for autumn BTW.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 24/09/2014 09:02

If something had happened this hunt I think we would all be up in arms that they are over dramatising!

I think this is a slow burn and we will have something happen at a future hunt

Do you think Rob is slowly poisoning Henry so any sprogs he has with Helen aren't usurped by the big brother? Or will they follow the story of a boy treated badly by his step father once he has his own child. The whole Jess thing complicates the Helen/rob story in an unnecessary way imo

R4 · 24/09/2014 09:50

Is the hunt merely a plot device? I assumed that the Masters of Foxhounds Association had had a word with Sean O'Connor. The hunt used to be a regular feature of TA but they have quietly dropped it in recent years. MFHA must have lobbied for inclusion, now that we are in more cuddly, no-foxes-were-harmed-in-the-making-of-this-chase times.
The shoot gets plenty of mention, so why not the hunt?

ppeatfruit · 24/09/2014 09:58

Yes you're probably right R4 I agree about the hunt (living in rural Fr. I'm quite on the fence Grin about hunting actually) . There's a lot of lovely wild countryside that would 've been built over if it hadn't been for the Hunt.

mummytime · 24/09/2014 10:30

Well as someone who lives on the edge of the countryside I am firmly anti-hunt. Two reasons 1) its barbaric 2) the main fox problem is in the town, not the countryside - I just can't see a hunt being carried out over suburban type back gardens etc.

WaltzingWithBares · 24/09/2014 11:20

We are in the middle of the countryside and are firmly anti-hunt. They ask now and again if they can go across the land but we refuse permission repeatedly. They don't give a shite about riding over newly-planted crops, upsetting stock and damaging hedges. They've done all of the above even having been explicitly refused permission. Claimed we'd left a gate open and they 'couldn't help it'. Bullshit.

Swannykazoo · 24/09/2014 14:13

I'm very disappointed. All that "Just stand over Helen, no a wee bit further, that's right" from Rob - I thought for sure she was going to see a furry foxy get shredded or have a piano fall on her or something. Or Henry got bitten by a rabid foxhound. Maybe next hunt

ErrolTheDragon · 24/09/2014 15:50

I agree with BYOS re the hunt - this time false alarms where we thought something nasty would happen, but it's too soon for that. Rob will reel Helen in - and then when a fox gets caught, her position will be compromised and she'll lamely let go of another principle.

I thought they mentioned the hunt reasonably often - boxing day etc?
