New thread for hopefully an exciting Sunday episode. Poor Hayley.

Meh, not convinced by this episode tbh

Can't believe he will successfully talk her out of a paternity test. Jess will still make sure it happens. Just kicks the story into the long grass

And they haven't had dinner so why are they going to bed? Isn't it a bit early

And what about Henry - isn't he still awake?

Selks · 05/09/2014 19:15

She KNOWS he was with Jess that night doesn't she? Didn't she find out ages ago but didn't say anything didn't she?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 05/09/2014 19:16

Wasn't it Jess that told her though?

...are there really prenatal paternity tests? and how did he find that out in that amount of time - answer: he already knew because he anticipated this

but how will he get out of it? Jess will want it done

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 05/09/2014 19:17

Oh no sorry - he admitted it but said he went because she was threatening to kill herself but if course nothing happened....

Shallishanti · 05/09/2014 19:19

wasn't Jess hinting he was something special sexually? so maybe a roast chicken is no contest Grin

Primadonnagirl · 05/09/2014 19:19

He meant bed for some sexy time..cos ..y'know..he's so irresistible !

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 05/09/2014 19:20

Why are the new sw trying to turn everyone into sexy beasts?

First Roy now rob?

I'm really not buying it.

lalsy · 05/09/2014 19:21

The let's go to bed seemed oddly fast to me, not just because of the chicken. I liked the world gets so much smaller line.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 05/09/2014 19:21

Really worried about that chicken. I always worry when food is cooked and then not eaten in case it goes to waste. (I'd have been in my element during rationing.)

Gosh, that was exciting! Glad they stuck to a three-handed and didn't try to crowd in anything else. And of course that was actually all Thursday evening.

Wouldn't Henry have jumped out of bed and followed Helen down the stairs when she rushed off to answer the door? Or were my children exceptionally nosy?

One of Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti's finest efforts. It's still a surprise (outside of death) to find myself forced to feel anything in TA. Very theatrical delvery tonight.

Though it's a shame Rob's "irresistibility" doesn't come out in his voice - he always sounds so repressed and at odds with the world, not attractive in the least.

I wonder if we'll ever get a paternity test, it might just rumble on forever.

BiscuitMillionaire · 05/09/2014 19:43

Great line about finding yourself trapped in the soft cocoon. I hope that will get Helen thinking.

GypsyFloss · 05/09/2014 19:56

I loved the way Rob argued his case for it all being about Jess and her crazy nastiness and nothing about him cheating on Helen. Not even a hint of an apology. Please Helen , don't fall for it.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 05/09/2014 19:57

The actors' not terribly illuminating thoughts... BBC blog.

TypicaLibra · 05/09/2014 19:59

Could this be some kind of double bluff from the SW, and that eventually - after a great deal of angst-driven melodrama - paternity tests will show that Rob actually isn't the father? They've teased us a lot about Rob so far, ie. is he/isn't he an EA bastard. I really will bash them if he, Helen and Henry live happily ever after in Peggy's house

R4 · 05/09/2014 20:00

I think both Rob and Jess sound odd. I don't believe or trust either one.
Do you think that they are one of those 'can't live with you / can't live without you' couples who like to entrap unwary, innocent third parties into their dangerous little mindgames?

Shallishanti · 05/09/2014 20:10

I agree that Jess sounds odd and I'm not sure why- insincere? poor actor?
Rob sounds like an EA (and possibly physically abusive) bastard

BasketzatDawn · 05/09/2014 20:15

R4, that's crossed my mind too - some kind of entrapment. But, apart from the promise of the Lodge, Helen has no wealth. So why would Jess want to bother? I think she sounded genuinely to not want Knob in her life. I'm wondering if we'll all have to be listening in a decade or so when the little foetus arrives to meet his/her father.

I think Jess is in the area - I think she's taken the job and is living in a flat in Borchester. So going shopping on a day of isn't wildly unreasonable. But, if she conceived in February, I do wonder why she's not buying mat clothes.

My thoughts on Hayley? I hope she will be a real tiger (but not in a Lillian and Matt way Wink) over ending her marriage to Roy. Maybe meeting Jess will help as they may meet again and become firm friends (don't you all want Hayley to have a pal?). Together they can take both love-rats to the cleaners. In fact maybe they can be vaguely colleagues in the future and meet again that way.

Selks · 05/09/2014 20:17

That's a really feeble piece of writing on TA blog.

unitarian · 05/09/2014 20:20

Helen's had to throw away an awful lot of uneaten food over the months, hasn't she.
