Come and play Grand Theft Combine through the quiet Ambridge streets. And by the way, ROB IS STILL MARRIED.

Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

Surely polyester is tearproof?

Looks.like Roy will be going home so we can expect more scenes of him being vile to Hayley, and her bewilderment. I hope she finds out.soon. I agree that one half of the granny duo.will spot the love trinket - what if it's Lindypops, where does she stand on adultery?

JollyGolightly · 26/08/2014 07:02

I know, pb it's dreadful. Am slow at the best.of.times but that.last comment took me several.minutes to.post.

PetulaGordino · 26/08/2014 07:52

locket will come to bite them on the arse one way or another

though i do wonder whether roy can realistically afford elizabeth's taste in jewellery

Eastpoint · 26/08/2014 08:18

Didn't one of Lilian or Linda comment that it was only £4?

PseudoBadger · 26/08/2014 09:28

What stars were Neil and Chris!! Loved it. Although they clearly only got them for the It's a Sin backdrop (so well predicted up thread).

trevortrevorslattery · 26/08/2014 09:41

He put a scrap of polyester in the locket, along with a single tear...

Haaa spot on!

R4 · 26/08/2014 10:25

I agree with the comment upthread about too many slebs on TA. Michael Fenton Stevens, Anita Dobson, Eleanor Bron, Kirsty Allsop, PSB, ...

How do they choose the slebs - do they have a SL and find a sleb to fit, or do they find a sleb and write the SL round them? It feels like the latter: why else would Fallon suddenly and unfathomably get into HomeMadeHome style upcycling. And has the very unlikely Roy and Lizzie story been turned into a saga just so they can drop in "It's a sin" as the punchline.
Don't like it.Sad

CuttedUpPear · 26/08/2014 11:11

I'm confused as to why the Loxfest episode was on a Monday.
Festivals don't happen on Mondays.

JollyGolightly · 26/08/2014 11:15

Bank holiday, cuttedup

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/08/2014 11:16

I think what we heard last night was still Sunday in Ambridge, CuttedUpPear. It must have followed on directly from Sunday's episode because during all that stuff with Wayne the Pet Shop Boys were arriving, as far as I can now recall. I assume we're now going to skip a day and go straight to Tuesday.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/08/2014 11:18

(Note how I've managed to put right out of my mind the possibility that instead we will go to the early hours of Monday morning and hear Elizabeth twanging the elastic of Roy's polyester pyjama bottoms...)

JollyGolightly · 26/08/2014 11:21

I always assume we're on the actual correct day of the week in Ambridge. How confusing.

HamAndPlaques · 26/08/2014 11:23

Didn't the new editor say that he was getting rid of one episode - one day? I agree that last night's episode was set on Sunday. The conversations between Fallon and Wayne, and then Fallon and Harrison, obviously took place shortly after Wayne's arrest.

ppeat good point about Phoebe although she has at least been mentioned wrt her GCSE results. Lily has been totally ignored. Has she been packed off somewhere for the summer?

HamAndPlaques · 26/08/2014 11:24

Kirsty and Tom's wedding was one day over two episodes.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/08/2014 11:27

Yes, the new Editor did say something like that, Ham. Vanessa Whitburn used to do it occasionally too - I vaguely recall that when Kathy found out about Sid's affair with Jolene the next episode just picked up where the last one had left off, and there was something similar (probably more than once) when Brian's affair with Siobhan became public knowledge.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/08/2014 12:36

Well, those of us who didn't know before that the PSBs were called Neil and Chris do now. Hmm I liked them breaking into Bear Necessities, but their conversation was like a parody of Ambridge over-use of names.

I caught the omni on sunday, but was away the previous two weeks - anything interesting? (the thread title implies more evil Rob...)

GCSEs - I do hope this means Phoebe is destined to fly, despite being a lowly Tucker (though of course she's half Aldridge..... ). And I liked that Josh's realistic set of grades garnered a positive response from D&R.

ColdTeaAgain · 26/08/2014 12:57

How old is Freddie? Last nights episode seemed liked Elizabeth was out enjoying herself while her son is left on his own feeling ill after taking drugs! Fantastic parenting! Or have I got confused about the time sequence?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/08/2014 13:06
  1. I expect the silent, unacknowledged Lily and Lewis took charge of Freddie.
ErrolTheDragon · 26/08/2014 13:14

What was Lizzie supposed to do - dance attendance on him? Presumably he just needed to eat and sleep it off. I doubt he'd have thanked her if she'd hung around fussing. Dan had made him drink water, I think. I have to say I rather liked Dan's sorting him out and then investigating the dealer. Bit surprised at Fallon even partly defending Wayne, given that he'd been selling to kids. Wonder what Jolene and Kenton's reaction will be?

ColdTeaAgain · 26/08/2014 13:35

Ok, just thought he was a bit younger than that. 14 is old enough to fend for himself but still think I would probably want to keep a bit closer eye on my child given the circumstances just in case he'd taken something worse than he thought!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 26/08/2014 13:54

Maybe freddy will be found dead in the morning and liz will have to confess she was bonking Roy all night and then have to live with the guilt of putting her sexual needs over her child (I'm sure there is a gus van word it film with Naomi watts like that)

If lizzie thinks bringing Roy into the family is somehow going to help Freddie she is a bigger idiot than I ever have her credit for. Maybe get your hands off the help and spend some time with your vulnerable teenager? Or at least send him to military boarding school. Oh, and maybe try and remember you had twins so there's another one out there who might like a little attention

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 26/08/2014 14:00

I really hope bolloxfest wasn't an elaborate plot because they needed to get the pet shop boys in

I'm going to guess that celebs contact the beeb and ask to get involved then they come up with a storyline.

I don't like the new sw. He comes across as thinking (and writing!) he is much cleverer than he actually he is (a bit like Moffat although I might get lynched for saying that!)

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/08/2014 14:02

You give me great hope, BYOS! I always liked the sound of St Brutus's Secure Centre for Incurably Criminal Boys, the place Vernon Dursley always said Harry Potter attended instead of Hogwarts. Could Freddie go there?

ColdTeaAgain · 26/08/2014 14:06

Yes pretty surprised at the Pet Shop Boys headlining a brand new small festival at late notice, just a tad far fetched! Reminds me of the sort of thing that would happen at the end of a cheesy movie.

The locket is going to out Roy and Elizabeth...the eagle eyes of Lillian and Lynda are on it Wink

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 26/08/2014 17:05

Hah! Came on to say I have the opposite problem to Pseudo in that I have no trouble posting but the new screen has wiped everything even remotely witty, or even relevant, from my head. Damn thing wouldn't post.

Anyway, baby names. Clearly not Rudyard or Kipling. Was wondering about Walter (Disney)....
