Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

OP posts:

Charlie is not 'remarkably sharp'. He hides in bushes, waiting for things to go wrong and then says "you didn't want to do that". A proper manager would anticipate problems and head them off before they happened, not carp after the event. He has zero people skills. If I was Adam I would be plotting Charlie's downfall by now.
Where are Brine and Debbie in all this?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 18:24

Is there an undercurrent of Charlie fancying Adam ? Grin

See the previous thread Footle!

(And probably the one before that...)

ElPolloDiabolo · 03/08/2014 18:29

I'm lurking because having listened each day for five years while cooking dinner, I have NO idea who all the characters are Confused

PetulaGordino · 03/08/2014 18:43

Thanks for the new thread!

unitarian · 03/08/2014 19:01

Excellent thread title!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 19:16

SadPoor Ed.

But a new JOHN for the village!

StandsOnGoldenSands · 03/08/2014 19:19

If you were Debbie you'd have been back sharpish well before now surely.

Hey, sudden idea - Debbie and Charlie - tempestuous love match? She comes storming back to take charge, runs up against Mr 5'2", and the rest is Liz Taylor and Richard Burton all over again...

Panzee · 03/08/2014 19:19

I have finally caught up (although not this evening) after missing weeks due to the World Cup and associated daily podcasts. For shame, I know. Glad to see not much has changed! It's thankfully slower than last year, I remember moaning that I couldn't keep up with all the storylines.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 19:20

...And we know what happens to teenagers who don't get the right GCSE grades: a lifetime of menial farm labour. Unless you inherit the farm.

StandsOnGoldenSands · 03/08/2014 19:22

And if she decides to stay in the village that fills the newbie matriarch gap tout suite.

The one problem with this plotline is Tamsin Greek's career. Hmm.

StandsOnGoldenSands · 03/08/2014 19:22

Grieg ffs autocorrect.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 19:23

Slow typing...

But Charlie and Debbie? Yeuk!

StandsOnGoldenSands · 03/08/2014 19:25

Power Couple Wink

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 19:27

Oh, wouldn't there be a "new" Debbie?

(The old one would cost 1000 times the entire annual budget surley?)

StandsOnGoldenSands · 03/08/2014 19:32

That's what I was suggesting.
It would be great if they brought her back to take Bridge Farm in hand. Just not sure whether that would be anathema to longterm listeners as TG seems v popular...

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 19:34

Would be anathema to Adam....

StandsOnGoldenSands · 03/08/2014 19:37

Think of all the wonderful tensions it would throw up. Catnip for scriptwriters.

BasketzatDawn · 03/08/2014 19:39

Maybe they are reading our comments? It seems like only a few weeks since we were moaning about Rich never getting a mention .... All very interesting but not sure I can stand PatnTone fawning over RichJohn. Is it common for people to change their name in almost adulthood? Though my own BIL did it when he went to high school. Which meant there was then a 'hierarchy' of those who knew him BEFORE, like his mother, brothers, others relatives; and everyone else - friends, wife, children. His funeral was very confusing ...

BasketzatDawn · 03/08/2014 19:43

Nah, Charlie doesn't have managerial qualities even if he knows stuff. He's just a bully. I wonder if it's a subtle ploy that they are portraying him as a crass, stalkerish, somewhat blatant bully, whereas Knob is working away quietly behind the scenes as it were. A kind of war of attrition on poor Helen. It could be a good line, in the right hands.

unitarian · 03/08/2014 19:43

It is indeed high time Debbie paid a visit. She might be the one who can cut Charlie down to size, though I agree he probably is about 5'2" and I've never liked the idea that Adam might stray again.

Debbie might also give Helen a good talking to. I notice Adam and Ian talked about being supportive of her after the dinner party but they've not been near her since.

OddFodd · 03/08/2014 19:45

:o @ Tamsin Greek

Thanks for new thread Pseudo - great title

Like I said on the other one, I think it's completely implausible that Ed would have let Emmur get into the combine cab when he's so desperate for work. And really, how broke can they still be now they're living with Neil and Susan? I sometimes think the SW have no idea about the benefits system.

And also disappointed that the invite mystery was resolved so quickly. Particularly when Rob is STILL MARRIED Shock Angry :o

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/08/2014 19:56

Missed it tonight. So rich is back trying to leech off the grandparents? Just what we need. I gues he is ideally places to ask rob if he is still married.

Another female character would have been useful

Oh and fallon/pc plot - please don't even think of them as the bedrock of another ambridge dynasty. I don't think I could bear it.

I can't stand Debbie and this loathing seems to have attached itself to any role tamsin Grieg plays!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/08/2014 20:09

ElPolloDiabolo Sorry, I meant to say there's a handy BBC crib here. Click the terrible pictures for character details.

ElPolloDiabolo · 03/08/2014 22:30

Oh brillo, thanks zero Smile

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 03/08/2014 22:41

So rich is back trying to leech off the grandparents?......Another female character would have been useful

If Rich can change his name, he can perhaps change other fundamentals too, BYOS! So all is not lost in that respect.

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo!
