Bolloxfest is imminent. Will this thread make it to the big day?

Wasn't Harry quite house proud and Jazzer, well, Jazzer?

It's hard to tell with Jim. It can go either way in terms of his reaction. He will not go spreading that conversation about but he won't be bullied either. So yeah, I'm intrigued as to how that will go!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 10/08/2014 22:02

After Harry went to the Lake District, Jazzer couldn't afford the rent on their flat. Can't remember why he couldn't find another flatmate. Anyway, Jim took him in as a kindness and he's never moved on.

Yes, it was an AmEx story. I didn't normally listen to AmEx but broke my rule when I heard about that. I can't remember how much, if any, was revealed on the main programme, but it doesn't surprise me that most people didn't know they'd DTD.

PseudoBadger · 10/08/2014 22:04

Would Fallon be so cruel as to lead Jazzer on, telling him she needs a man who's also a mate? She is just oblivious isn't she.
Shula and Alastair have nothing to keep them together any more, now that Dan's gone.

I'm happy to pay for Alastair to divorce St Shula of Smug

JessieMcJessie · 11/08/2014 05:03

I also confirm that Fallon and Jazzer DTD in the camper van outside Harry's friend's house in the Lake District while Harry was rekindling his romance. Fallon thought she was totally in there with Harry and was understandably shocked when she saw the whole thing play out in front of her eyes, and Jazzer plied her with commiseratory drinks and one thing led to another.

I too can't believe F would be so insensitive to Jazzer after he declared his love to her on tje village green and she knocked him back (that WAS on TA and not AmEx).

The barman was Rhys. He was actually very nice to her and their romance was quite sweet until he suddenly decided to move back to Wales for (PC) plot purposes.

StandsOnGoldenSands · 11/08/2014 06:39

Thanks for the Jazzer info. Wondering how I missed all that at the time....

cheminotte · 11/08/2014 07:59

I think it was hinted at on TA, enough to make me go and listen to some Extra. And I don't think this wonderful thread then so no-one to ask.

LillianGish · 11/08/2014 09:54

I agree Northernlurker - I think the Knob/Jim exchange was so someone could see his true colours since he appears to have won everyone else round. He got Jim on his own which meant there were no other witnesses, but also no one to make excuses for him either.
Does anyone know what Ed took the the pawn shop?

ppeatfruit · 11/08/2014 10:34

Yes stands0n That storyline sounds very plausible to me (about Charlie making it up with Ed.). Clever Grin

ppeatfruit · 11/08/2014 11:31

I've just listened again to yesterday's ;did anyone notice the way Rob spoke about his 'stepson' I bet poor little Henry didn't get much sympathy from him in the night!

Interesting discussion between pc plod and Jazzer about Fallen ; looks like she's going to settle for "a mate' Oh dear, I never put her down as a dopey rock chick perhaps I'm wrong Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/08/2014 11:47

Hey Lil'G! We don't know but Eastpoint's suggestion - the X box thingy he played the combine simulator game on - is almost certainly right.

ppeatfruit · 11/08/2014 13:14

Yes Lilian But I reckon knob was being a real knob having a go at Jim. He's a bad enemy IIRC. Serve knob right.

FunLovinBunster · 11/08/2014 13:27

I don't think Jim sounded cowed at all.
He's an intelligent man, and I think he will bide his time and eventually expose RobWanker for the bully he is.

Selks · 11/08/2014 13:29

Yes I think you're right about Jim. It sounded like he made an active decision not to retaliate to Rob.

RocknRollNerd · 11/08/2014 16:53

Surely long term Fallon and Jazzer have to end up together...PC Plot merely serving ultimately to show Fallon that Jazzer is her true love?

Thanks for the link to the blog explaining the links between the cows, BL, milk round etc. It also goes a long way to explaining why Ed can't make the business profitable - he's paying Oliver back for the loan, rent for the land (although below market), Mike and Vicky for the additional cows and BL for the extra land...given the crappy margins in dairy farming in any case it's not surprising he has no cash. At what point will he finally decide to throw the towel in? He did seem to have a moment of clarity that the business makes no money last week but Emma told him things would get better - how exactly?

PetulaGordino · 11/08/2014 17:01

i was beginning to wonder that rocknrollnerd re fallon and jazzer

TypicaLibra · 11/08/2014 18:23

Yes RocknRollNerd - with hindsight, it's surprising that the business plan that he had to present was ever considered credible at all by the bank, when all that is taken into account. After all, the recession was well underway at that point.

I guess he had a few unforseen setbacks including Mike dropping the milk price a couple of years ago. Didn't he claw some of that back though more recently, thanks to Ruth helping him inputting all his costs into some software thingy so he could be more on the ball?

Milk prices are reasonably good at the moment though, and surely Ed is getting at least a couple of pence a litre more than he would get by selling to one of the big dairies.

The implications regarding Ed's extra acreage are a bit worrying as someone upthread mentioned, re. Ed's current acrimonious relations with Charlie.

Hmmm ... not sure which way this will go - I'd love Ed and his dairying enterprise to succeed as a counterpoint to the megadairy ... but that's not looking real likely as things stand.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 11/08/2014 18:41

Oh god no, I wouldn't wish my worst enemy on jazzer.

Can't stand the fella, I'd rather listen to jolene sing!

PetulaGordino · 11/08/2014 19:11

Selks · 11/08/2014 19:16

Elizabeth definitely did a Confused face when presented with the puma!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/08/2014 19:22

So - who wants to be Tenuous Link Volunteer? (Still puzzled after reading Puma blog....)

I'm thrilled that Carol and Elizabeth share an interest - hope it bodes well for future stories.

We had two sheep called Polly and Esther, sadly Polly died last year.
