Exeunt, pursued by a sow. And so on, for the next 60 years of The Archers.

It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.

Abigail's Party is a stage and TV play set in the 70s.

Lynda is perfect as Abigail!

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/05/2014 19:22

Double oops! Grin

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/05/2014 19:24

Halsall, you're right, of course - it was a theatre play first and then televised. I think I saw the first broadcast back in the days of Play For Today - a new TV play every week, IIRC, back in the days when Original British Drama was not something the BBC needed to trumpet about, it just did it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/05/2014 19:25

Aaaarghh! Lynda perfect as Beverley, not Abigail.

Sigh.

I should really stick to lurking!

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/05/2014 19:28

I remember Play For Today Mimsy Grin

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/05/2014 19:28

Please don't just lurk, Bore - your name brings an insane grin to my lips every time I see it, apart from anything else!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/05/2014 19:30

Usually very grim and gritty, but then the 70s was rather a grim and gritty time.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/05/2014 19:36

Am popping up again just so Mimsy can laugh at me my name!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 15/05/2014 19:42
Grin
GypsyFloss · 15/05/2014 19:52

I'm another lover of your name Bore . I have to say it aloud each time I see it Grin

Missed tonight.Again. This time I decided that cutting the grass at 6.45 was an excellent idea.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/05/2014 20:02

Awww, you guys! Blush

unitarian · 15/05/2014 20:18

Dipping your boa in the guacamole!

Halsall · 15/05/2014 20:19

I love it too, Bore Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 15/05/2014 20:47

"Thursday night is usually light opera night"

AnyoneforTurps · 15/05/2014 21:20

Is it wrong that I fancy Charlie? Blush

GypsyFloss · 15/05/2014 21:54

Nope Anyone . But you might have to join the queue I started Grin

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 15/05/2014 22:18

Am still trying to process tonight's so I'll go back to last night's. Was anyone else desperate to read what Tom had written??

mummytime · 15/05/2014 22:45

Yes I wanted to read what Tom had written and I bet Alice was too. Will Alice tell Pat where the letter was sent from?
I loved Maurice. It was so real, even in a situation like this you expect one person to say "He should have gone through with it and then got divorced" - even if that is so wrong.
Does he sing light opera or just listen to it?

Icimoi · 16/05/2014 00:09

I have this theory that Kirsty will be the one who ultimately recognises what goes on with Rob and rescues Hellin, and there will be an extra frisson if she only reluctantly rescues her whilst still hating her.

Icimoi · 16/05/2014 00:10

I felt a bit cheated at the end of the golf club saga with Kathy. I know that in RL there wouldn't be a satisfying ending, but I so wanted the awful Martyn to get booted out by the club for making such a godawful mess of the restaurant side of things.

GypsyFloss · 16/05/2014 06:58

I definitely want to know what Tom wrote. Every time he tried to explain himself there was something else left unsaid, he would start and then give up. I want to know what that was.

WhatSheSaid · 16/05/2014 07:13

Morrissey for Loxfest!

I reckon Fallon would be a fan but all the farmers would be very suspicious of his veggie ways...

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/05/2014 07:26

Hmm - rather poor form for someone to say they've been "asked".

If they say no it makes the "askers" look stupid, if they say yes it spoils the surprise which should have been for the "askers" to reveal.

[Thumbs down emoticon]

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/05/2014 07:28

But Clarrie's party was mega!

And Maurice.

stilllearnin · 16/05/2014 08:52

Mozza won't lay in sight of meat stalls so i just cannot see that. Also he's at mine that weekend with billy Bragg - we've been betrothed since I was 14!
