It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.
Follow the undulating Ambridge pastures here!

I've changed my name for anoter thread but thought you lot might appreciate it!

GypsyFloss · 16/05/2014 13:39

Finally caught up on last nigh. Maurice is just fab, he makes me think of Dougal from the magic roundabout.

Clarrie on the other hand with her trembly delivery makes me want to screech.

polyhymnia · 16/05/2014 13:56

Who is Maurice???

GypsyFloss · 16/05/2014 14:30

He's Tom's sausage maker with a very droll voice and a surprising interest in light opera but only on Thursdays it seems.

3littlefrogs · 16/05/2014 14:34

Where do Sharon and her son with the sainted, late John Archer live?
We never heard anything more about the grandson after all the hoo ha about Pat and tony wanting to see him?

3littlefrogs · 16/05/2014 14:39

There are some interesting character similarities. Grin

GypsyFloss · 16/05/2014 14:49

Lynda and Ermintrude ...separated at birth.

WanderingOakensHoohoo · 16/05/2014 15:13

Oh how I love Maurice - such a poet! Can I add 'A polite facade masking a swamp of despair' to the possible next-thread titles?!

LillianGish · 16/05/2014 15:39

I was hoping for something along the lines of Those happy to sacrifice Die Fledermaus tune in here (except for Danny - he's dead!)

ErrolTheDragon · 16/05/2014 16:20

Morrissey? - meh.

Mauricey - oh yeah! Grin

I've been listening too much with half an ear this week, so have gathered that some sort of small cute critters have been found somewhere at Brookfield but I'm darned if I know what they are. Can someone fill me in please?

WillieWaggledagger · 16/05/2014 16:44

hedgehogs errol!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/05/2014 16:49

Errol you're a genius!

OddFodd · 16/05/2014 17:20

Errol :o

Hedgehogs in the greenhouse. I'm surprised at William knowing about them. He always seems like such a shoot-em vermin type

unitarian · 16/05/2014 19:14

What else has Tom been up to?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/05/2014 19:15

Fate....

GypsyFloss · 16/05/2014 20:01

Why does it sound like Helen crossed with Alice is moonlighting as the Organic Inspector?

And is this the big secret that Tom has been on the brink of telling but couldn't quite spit it out?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/05/2014 20:11

Actually, it's potentially another thing to be laid at Peggy's door. Has she had the same conversation with Tom as she had with Pat (after the division of the spoils) about how organic might not be the best way forward for the farm?

I really don't think it would be enough to blame lack of concentration on Tom's part - he clearly had a plan. And it may bring down Bridge Farm altogether.

Tommy · 16/05/2014 21:22

yes - he must have bought the feed knowing it wasn't organic... what a mess

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 16/05/2014 22:16

I missed tonight. Did the inspection end in what we in the teaching world call an "RI"? Or worse?!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/05/2014 22:35

Willie - thanks - ah, hedgehogs. That makes sense...I thought I heard a reference to 'hoglets' but for some reason that made me think baby wild boars which didn't seem at all likely even in Ambridge.

Did we get another brilliant throwaway line about Jolene's ex-band or did I hallucinate 'smuggling geckos'? Confused

I loved Brian's nonplussed perusal of 50 shades of white.

mummytime · 16/05/2014 22:57

Nope it was "smuggling geckos", I really hope she does get a band together though.

TypicaLibra · 16/05/2014 23:11

Just caught up - wow, interesting about the pig food.

I thought I recalled that part of Tom's pig enterprise wasn't organic anyway - could the pig food anomaly be explained by that?

And is this the big secret that Tom has been on the brink of telling but couldn't quite spit it out?
When did this happen Gypsy? - I must have missed that bit.

I thought the whole inspection thing quite realistic apart from the end - surely she'd need to go back into the house for her laptop and other gubbins rather than heading dramatically straight to her car like that!

Cooroo · 17/05/2014 00:19

De-lurking to wave at all Play for Today-remembering Maurice fans! Would love to see some of the old plays. Bet most were wiped.

unitarian · 17/05/2014 02:37

I think Tom discussed buying in non-organic pork for his ready meals but the feed for the pigs on Bridge farm seems to be a whole different thing.
I suppose pigs eating non-organic feed are producing non-organic manure which could affect the status of the whole farm if it is spread on the land and used for veg growing. Everything they produce is marketed as organic so this is potential ruin.
Can Pat forgive him for this? I doubt if Tony will.

GypsyFloss · 17/05/2014 13:04

TypicalLibra in conversation with Pat post fiasco and Helen and Peggy pre wedding Tom stopped himself from saying more. A few people commented that he might be about to come out but actually I'm wondering whether his secret is actually that he has ruined the Organic status of the farm, as described by Unitarian.

On another note I read on another forum the would be festival described as " Bo-Lox Fest" which really made me smile.
