It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.
Follow the undulating Ambridge pastures here!

I have seen many a calf born and at least know the theory of what to do, but I've never actually done it. I don't see why Alice should be different. There were never any scenes of her hanging around the lambing shed, desperate to get involved AFAIR. Too busy with school and ponies and socialising with Venetia.

OddFodd · 12/05/2014 14:11

Can they not ask Hellin to help with pigs or will she break a nail or something? Or is she actually having to (gasp) work at the shop nowadays

TarpalCunnel · 12/05/2014 19:13

I think Charlie has an ulterior motive Wink

Pinkfizzy · 12/05/2014 19:16

Ooh, Clarrie "I feel such a fraud..." me shouting from kitchen "That's cos you're not the real Clarrie!" Cue kids yelling back "It's not real, you know!"

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 12/05/2014 19:18

Question 1) Why the eff is Charlie flirting with Adam?

Question 2) Is Clarrie not long for this world?

YoghurtRaisins · 12/05/2014 19:30

Pinkfizzy my kids and I have that exact same conversation too! I just haven't got used to the "new" Clarrie. And I'm positively hating the new Tony... As though he wasn't a miserable character enough already, this new actor is taking whinging to new heights.

DodderyOldSoul · 12/05/2014 19:32

I think he just wants to replace Adam with someone else.

Not place his hands all over him.

TarpalCunnel · 12/05/2014 19:48

Or...maybe Charlie is a "mole" that has something to do with this new road that will be going slap-bang through Ambridge [sho
Nah, crazy idea. Ignore me Im so bored Im just making stuff up Grin

CuttedUpPear · 12/05/2014 22:41

Zero

Question 1) Homo-erotic threesome?

Question 2) See Shirley Valentine

PseudoBadger · 12/05/2014 23:07

I thought Clarrie was going to say "I'm such a fraud... I was 60 last year, I've been lying about me age all these years" :o

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 12/05/2014 23:33

Adam, Charlie and the combine Cutted? Interesting...

I was thinking exactly the same Pseudo. But now I understand that "I feel a fraud" is code for "the new Editor doesn't like the way my character has been going for the last ten years and I'm about to be reborn as an entirely different sort of person.."

R4 · 13/05/2014 00:04

Yet another case of Sudden Personality Shift.
Real Clarrie wouldn't compare herself to others. She wouldn't look enviously at Susan; if anything she would compare to Darrell (sorry for mentioning That Name) or herself in the days of Meadow Rise and thank her lucky stars. She has her family around her even if the boys are at loggerheads, friends, a roof over her head and a job.
And real Clarrie would never be so horrible and, by implication, ungrateful to Eddie during the meal by being such a wet blanket.

CuttedUpPear · 13/05/2014 08:54

Agreed R4!

Shock Shocking personality transplant. If Clarrie was going to have any wobbles about the point of her life, it would have been during the menopause like I am

cheminotte · 13/05/2014 11:02

Zero - yes I heard flirting too. Stockhausen syndrome?

HumphreyCobbler · 13/05/2014 13:15

Ugh

Been absent from the thread for a while so I missed my moment to boast that I know a couple of the contributors to the 6.30 comedy slots. They are very funny in real life too!

frostyfingers · 13/05/2014 19:18

Do you know I'm getting a bit bored of all this confrontation at the moment - whatshisname Charlie getting all arsey with Rob has done for me for the time being. I shall retire for a while and see if it becomes less like Eastenders and more like Shakespeare which I read somewhere was what they were aiming for!

BitOutOfPractice · 13/05/2014 19:19

Oh lord I LOVED Kirsty's cold steely fury! Even though I'm not sure it's justified to Helen

Iwantacampervan · 13/05/2014 19:20

Funny line from Elizabeth amidst Rob getting a telling off:

So they won't budge.......the stationery people.

Helen now has no friends to help her and Rob is not going to be happy after the chat with Charlie.

mummytime · 13/05/2014 19:21

I like Charlie and Rob - shows Rob isn't as wonderful as he's lead us to believe. Its a contrast with Charlie thawing a bit with Adam yesterday.

I was wondering what Rob's reaction will be. And Helen has lost her friend.

LillianGish · 13/05/2014 19:23

Great episode. It's a perfect storm - Rob in the doghouse with Charlie as a result of Henry. Helen abandoned by Kirsty. Pat and Tony rushed off their feet in Tom's absence - ready to welcome Rob into the breach when Charlie gives him the push - or more likely when he storms out in a fit of anger....

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 13/05/2014 19:48

Yes, I can see Rob arguing that "for the family" it makes sense for him to leave his job and take on the burden of Bridge Farm...

But I agree it's all getting a bit stressful.

Kirk1 · 13/05/2014 20:28

I'm not sure Kirsty is justified in that last remark "a real friend would have" I know she's hurt, but she's acting a right bitch. Who is this friend she went on holiday with? Did she spend the whole week keeping Kirsty's rage on the boil?
