It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.

I'm hoping JD will offer us her cast off cupboards. DH and I would never let a sticky drawer or two hold us back ...

LillianGish · 09/05/2014 22:06

I love Nennypops' idea of Jennydarling having to reinstall old kitchen when new one fails to materialise.

R4 · 09/05/2014 22:22

I seem to remember someone saying there was a website that someone archives previous omni's on, is that still going?

The Colchester Plumber

I wish JD would offer us her old kitchen - DH is currently kitting out his Shed and could do with some base units. She would be horrified.. She should e-bay them, they can get quite a good price. Poor DH keeps getting exited by stuff that is going for 99p but then suddenly jumps up to £££ in the last few minutes of the auction.

The i-player was very slow yesterday. I got so fed up that I fired off a ranty e-mail this morning. They were very prompt tonight!

Tony seemed happier to see that calf than he would have been to see Tom back...apart from the practical matters of pig-feeding and organic inspection. Rob is doubtless a whizz with paperwork and will masterfully organize pig-care.

TheSilveryPussycat · 10/05/2014 10:00

Thanks, R4. I've caught up on last week via the Beeb website, and very much looking forward to hearing the actual events alluded to.

Davros · 10/05/2014 10:29

According to the RT we will find out about Krusty on Tuesday

StandsOnGoldenSands · 11/05/2014 10:05

Omnibus listening. Do Sandhurst types really have to take their own ironing boards?

BitOutOfPractice · 11/05/2014 10:43

What's the betting on fallon getting it on with this loxfest organiser? And a whole load of comic capers with him and PC burns (who will rather surprisingly by police liaison for the event) vying for her attention

EBearhug · 11/05/2014 12:41

Has the Archers ever had a threesome?

Please do not ever give the script writers such ideas.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 11/05/2014 13:31

Standsongoldensands, yes, they do. They need a bloody good iron as well. There are punishments for creases out of place!

TaurielTest · 11/05/2014 15:06

I know we're only on page 3, but the next thread title has to work in some sort of reference to "Except for Danny..."
Best line since "temperamental around corvids".

I fear BooP has it right re Fallon / Loxfest man / PC Burns love triangle.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/05/2014 19:12

Wow Alice! Respect.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/05/2014 19:18

What happens if Bridge farm fails the Organic Inspection? Do they lose a licence to operate or what?

(I'm worrying about the Editor's reference to fate....)

TypicaLibra · 11/05/2014 19:35

Speaking from own experience, you occasionally get 'major contravention of guidelines' in areas of the inspection report and if that's the case they follow it up with a recommendation or a rap on the knuckles. In our case it was for giving a cow a drug that you are allowed to give but you are meant to notify the Soil association within 10 days that you have done so, and we hadn't. So there was no remedying it really - we couldn't undo what we had(n't) done, but we didn't lose our license.

There are things you can lose your license for - eg. contaminating organic milk with penicillin, but they've not got cows any more so they're safe from that!

Will listen to the inspection epi with interest to see if their inspector is as nice as ours

R4 · 11/05/2014 19:48

They are laying it on a bit thick with this 'compare and contrast' theme. Isn't Alice a wonderful, helpful daughter.Hmm

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/05/2014 19:57

Thanks Libra - I'll be able to sleep tonight!

I had absolutely no idea that Alice had veterinary skills....

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/05/2014 20:04

....ConfusedCould they accidentally give penicillin to the new cows? - I suppose it would never go onto an organic farm?

LittleBipper · 11/05/2014 21:21

Usha was just on Vera!

Davros · 11/05/2014 22:51

You can get great half ironing boards in Ikea. Tried listening daily last week but have decided to return to the Film, more relaxing

Icimoi · 12/05/2014 00:29

I can't understand why Pat even lets Tony try to phone Tom. Surely every time he hears Tony's voice it makes him extend his stay away by at least a couple of days?

JessieMcJessie · 12/05/2014 06:33

Wonder if this is a precursor to Alice getting broody for a little human fawn?

frostyfingers · 12/05/2014 08:28

Little - I thought so, then thought I was mistaken!

Anyone pick up the red flag re Roy promising Elizabeth that the licence for Loxfest was a formality? Methinks perhaps not....

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 12/05/2014 08:37

Zero, I don't think delivering a baby animal is really a veterinary matter. My impression (derived solely from 30+ years of listening to TA!) is that most children growing up on a farm with animals learn to help out with a tricky delivery. Pip She who must not be named at Brookfield certainly seemed to be able to turn her hand to anything from an early age.

Icimoi, completely agree! I'd have headed for Outer Mongolia if I'd had Tony speaking to me the way he's spoken to Tom these last few weeks.

WillieWaggledagger · 12/05/2014 08:47

my mum used to have a small flock of sheep and i often got hauled outside as a teenager to help with a tricky birth (as I was the only other person up early enough in the morning), though i was usually the one holding the sheep still while mum did the messy part

(that's not to say that i would be in any way useful in a lambing emergency these days!)

so based on my teensy amount of experience it doesn't surprise me that alice was reasonably au fait, given that she grew up on a large farm

StandsOnGoldenSands · 12/05/2014 08:50

Frosty - yes, I did! I'd imagine the paperwork involved with setting up a music festival is quite onerous. Heslth and safety alone would be a nightmare. Let's hope the new music man is able to advise Roy and isn't a charlatan ...
