Phew, FINALLY caught up! (I used to be Somewherebeyondthesea btw, NC'd in the Great Heartbleed Crisis). Nearly a month of crazy work stuff has seriously interrupted my listening habits. Day off today so what else to do but catch up on two and a half weeks' worth of episodes (while knitting)! I missed all the wedding excitement and everything ...
Am quite enjoying Fallon and PC Burns' enactment of The Taming Of The Shrew. How many pieces of artfully distressed furniture can she make him buy before she gives in and offers him a roll in the hay?
Agree that some of the 'happy families' parallels were hammered home very clunkily - Shula/Dan and Kenton/David/Jill contrasting with the Home Farm angst. A bit cheesy and obvious at times.
Not liking this new 'evil BL overlords' storyline. OTOH if it gets Brine to do something interesting then perhaps it will be worth it in the longrun ... He has been v boring for a long time now.
Really hoping that Brenda doesn't get dragged into the Tom situation as his 'one true love'. Too obvious.
Have been wondering, if I was Kirsty, what would I do? There's absolutely no way I'd want to return to a small village where everyone had just seen me get jilted and will remember it for the next 50 years. Still less would I want to continue working in my ex-almost-inlaws' business forever more.
You'd have to relocate to somewhere new and start afresh, wouldn't you, surely? Is this a chance for her to reconcile with Brenda and join her in the Big Smoke, both of them put the miserable wimp of a sausage baron behind them, and go on to fabulously high flying careers (and marry matching tech millionaires) ...?
