Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

Uhhhhhhh [shudders] Rob was foul tonight. How does she not see it?! I'd be livid if DH came home and essentially chucked my friend out. Propper hopping. But Helen just seemed to think it was ok. And his excuse was that he and Kirsty hadn't got off to a good start - you think that's going to improve the situation?

Oh, and clearly "Nunny" for Annunciata :D

WhatSheSaid · 11/04/2014 00:23

TheOne, I thought of Nancy for Annunciata too - I have also read a lot of early Margaret Drabble novels.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 11/04/2014 01:08

Thanks TheOne - interesting article.

Not quite satisfied with the shortenings so far - but I daresay the prospective (grand)parents might be less pedantic and fussy than I am.

But surely other people have some Snellamy suggestions to throw in the ring? I need the distraction; bored with Besotted Cow and just don't believe in the newly greedy one.

stilllearnin · 11/04/2014 07:28

Yes rob was setting up for convincing Helen she needs to give things up so they can spend time together. Also he didn't say much when H mentioned their own wedding. I'm just catching up - the clunkiness of the boardroom/ squirrel ep is kind of part of the charm. It made me chuckle knowingly and I think that was the intention. Brian has been quite calm. Maybe relieved it was annabel rather than the smarmy board member. Thing is with a hostile take over they're in for a bumpy ride so now Brian gets to sit back a bit and watch them get tangled up.

Also, hurry up and get married Kirsty so I can like you again!

WillieWaggledagger · 11/04/2014 08:27

helen also ignored ian's call while rob was there - modifying her behaviour

stilllearnin · 11/04/2014 13:25

Willie I've been plucking up the nerve to ask you, but seeing as you're here - what is your nickname about?!! (I love it btw).

I cannot see H&R turning out to be a relationship that looks bad but basically works ok (as previously mentioned). But I like it when they put the brakes on storylines a bit - it's more realistic (and I get too overexcited otherwise!)

Anyone know what's on the menu tonight?

WillieWaggledagger · 11/04/2014 13:50

it's v silly stilllearnin!

Willie Waggledagger = William Shakespeare

WillieWaggledagger · 11/04/2014 13:51

i also can't tell you how chuffed i am that you've asked - no one ever has before!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 11/04/2014 15:04

That's given me a great big smile, Willie! I like that. Never occurred to me that's what it was!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2014 15:09

I think H&R could be a relationship which 'works' for years - working great from his POV, and Helen will also think it's working in a deluded way ... until it all comes crashing down around her ears when either he moves on or else she stops toeing the line (or both, as happened with Jess)

nauticant · 11/04/2014 17:18

It would be great if they could do that but in the accelerated pace of a soap, the SWs might find themselves unable to resist getting it over and done with in a few months in a big showdown scene with optional fisticuffs.

stilllearnin · 11/04/2014 18:13

Willie! I assumed it's rude (note to self: wash out mind before coming on mn). Cannot wait to tell ds!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 11/04/2014 19:12

Haha! KRH is my brother's regiment!Grin

nauticant · 11/04/2014 19:15

Kirsty - It's got to be a good omen!

hahahahaha

BasketzatDawn · 11/04/2014 19:18

I assumed WillieWaggle was rude too! now I've had it explained to me I may be able to see if the family can guess it!!

Why was Dan getting his boots commented on so much? Do you think he had them sitting on the table? Grin

BasketzatDawn · 11/04/2014 19:19

Ha ha indeed. It's just Kirsty's weird thing about numbers, no? You should all google 24th April to see why it's so memorable ......

BitOutOfPractice · 11/04/2014 19:24

It's my wedding anniversary!

nauticant · 11/04/2014 19:24

I hadn't noticed that BasketzatDawn but I think you're right. Kirsty has made comments about numbers before I think.

Martorana · 11/04/2014 21:13

Where is Jess, by the way?

nauticant · 11/04/2014 21:46

Tipped into a slurry pit attached to the mega dairy. However, it takes a long time for a body to decompose in those conditions.

GypsyFloss · 11/04/2014 22:26

Do we know how much Piggy is stumping up for the house? I do hope it's a couple of grand and a nice canteen of cutlery Grin

JessieMcJessie · 12/04/2014 01:32

HasJolene been taking lessons from Rob in Emotional Abuse? All rhat heavy breathing about Callum in the cellar. Too much, not funny.

CuttedUpPear · 12/04/2014 07:35

I agree Jessie it's not funny.
Why have they got Jolene behaving like this? It's cruel and unnecessary, not to mention out of character and context.
Maybe I have missed some plot line where Kenton did something awful to her to deserve this, but I don't think so.

Martorana · 12/04/2014 07:53

Kenton and Jolene, once you got over the initial incredulity was always a sane, joyous, happy normal relationship. Can't understand why they've turned it into this ridiculous travesty.

WillieWaggledagger · 12/04/2014 08:38

It's very uncomfortable to listen to
