Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

But this take over of Borchestshire land promises to be a real SATTC event. A bigger digester, solar arrays, wind turbines? And a huge protest camp I expect.
Now what is owned by Borchester land, and what does Brian own still?

happyscouse · 09/04/2014 21:32

anyone else think Tom And Kirsty will end up having their wedding reception round Fallons "upcycled" tables?

WillieWaggledagger · 09/04/2014 21:46

yes ron! i actually laughed out loud at 'uncle javier'

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 09/04/2014 22:02

Was that at the Village Hall? What a brilliant idea happyscouse. With Uncle Javier turning up unexpectedly, dressed for Buckingham Palace?

mummytime there's a convenient and timely breakdown of Borchester Land here. And Brian does have fifteen hundred acres at Home Farm. I'm not sure what his share of BL would be worth.

CuttedUpPear · 10/04/2014 01:20

Tonight's episode was BRILLIANT

Squirrel in the bag.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/04/2014 02:01

Wasn't it?

The BBC seems to be eschewing writing credits on the website nowadays - unless I've overlooked it anywhere. Lowfield says KD did this week. It's been years since they put in quite so much effort - and I'm not sure it's ever been so witty.

PseudoBadger · 10/04/2014 02:04

Uncle Javier reminds me of this from the Mighty Boosh

I wonder if Uncle Javier is a bit like Kate Middleton's wayward uncle with the villa of ill repute in Ibiza? The Kirsty actressis married to a Spaniard, I wonder if her husband is an actor about to get a bit part?

Am trying to think how Kirsty with 2 British parents would have an uncle Javier but not an associated Auntie Susan or some such who had married a Spaniard.

cheminotte · 10/04/2014 06:19

E so was Annabel the squirrel then?

mummytime · 10/04/2014 07:27

Kirsty's Grandma and Grandad had a favourite waiter on their honeymoon and called their son after him? Her Grandma is Spanish? They had several children and were desperate for a boys name, so called him after the doctor (I nearly got there with one of mine)?
Or they could be like my solidly norfolk forbears who in 1840 ish called a son Abdul.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 10/04/2014 09:39

Brian was the squirrel & the meeting was his trap Grin

(I suppose that makes Annabel = William)

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 10/04/2014 09:42

Loving the Victorian Abdul, mummytime!

WillieWaggledagger · 10/04/2014 09:50

i imagined justin elliot looking a bit like rupert graves

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/04/2014 09:58

Hmm Does Rupert Graves look like a cut-throat businessman? I don't think so. My Justin has a gym in each of his homes across five continents. Not an ounce of spare flesh from head to expensively shod toe. Ergonomically built for speed and efficiency. Possibly a shaved head. I'm already fantasising about his suits.

WillieWaggledagger · 10/04/2014 10:04

haha - so more like ralph fiennes maybe?

we may have to wait for one of the women someone to comment on his appearance perhaps

i thought that was a great episode. you can see the potential storylines opening up for years to come

R4 · 10/04/2014 10:20

I make it
the meeting = the trap
Brine = the deaded squirrel
Justin Elliott = Willyum, with his priest
Annabel = Chris, who gets his chance to mow a lovely smooth lawn (not dug up by squirrels) thanks to someone else's dirty work.

The last was a bit contrived: since when have Chris and Willyum (his sister's hated ex) been so matey?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/04/2014 10:40

Actually, once I had worked out who it was (a millisecond in the kitchen meant I didn't hear Will say a name; wondered if it might be Jamie) I thought it was an inspired meeting. I don't ever remember hearing Chris and Will together - but, as you say, they were previously brothers in law and there's no reason to think they wouldn't have got on well both before and after Will and Emma's break up. I'm sure Will would never have held Chris responsible for his sister's betrayal. (Was Chris notably protective of her at the time?)

I've been wondering exactly whose employment will be - probably adversely - affected by the takeover.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 10/04/2014 10:44

Oh no - Annabel was definitely William- she was the one who stitched up Brian, with Justin's help

I don't think we're going to hear much from Justin in the future - he's much too important. Annabel will be his mouthpiece

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/04/2014 10:51
Sad
PseudoBadger · 10/04/2014 10:54

I think he looks like Roger Allam. In The Politician's Wife rather than The Thick of It.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 10/04/2014 11:08

Of course, we're also still waiting for Jack Woolley's estate to go through probate. Once Hazel gets hold of the shop, that's another earthshattering storyline to come!

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 10/04/2014 11:28

Sorry, Zero Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 10/04/2014 11:39

How does Annabel get on with Debbie? And Adam? (I have been listening but no idea how to interpret what we've heard.)

Perhaps she has some relatives she might like to promote?

ErrolTheDragon · 10/04/2014 11:39

Brian never saw that one coming.... probably if it had been a bloke rather than Annabel he would have.

TheOne - completely wrong to imagine John Harvey Jones ... it was his successors who were the Justin types who destroyed one of the best companies this country ever had in their misguided efforts to maximise shareholder value. Sad

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 10/04/2014 11:59

I didn't mean the same business methods - just the same sort of physical appearance - older & fatter rather than young & sharp
