Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

Is dan

WillieWaggledagger · 31/03/2014 19:54

Bugger

Is Dan on his gap year? So university next year? Has he applied etc? Or maybe he's joining the army or something - that might for in with the fitness training, or maybe the police...

Not so much the new aftershave though!

stilllearnin · 31/03/2014 19:55

Adam, refusing to join in with Rob's prattling about his hilarious pranks, you star! Also Brian all concerned? Warmed me cockles it did!

WillieWaggledagger · 31/03/2014 19:59

Yes rob did some proper back-pedalling/rewriting history there didn't he

ErrolTheDragon · 31/03/2014 20:00

You could practically hear Adam biting his tongue - he has to maintain a professional relationship with Rob. Rob seemed totally unaware of how unimpressed Adam was though.

selsigfach · 31/03/2014 20:45

I'm fuming for Ruth - how dare Shula spread her sad news around the village. There is no need for Jenny or Brian to know about it and I hope Ruth gives them hell when she finds out that they have all been gossiping about her.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 31/03/2014 20:56

So.... Dan's got a new girlfriend - or at least someone he wants to impress? And I'm guessing he was scouting out either a flat or another excuse to get on a plane...

Puzzling episode. What's Brian so pleased about? Surely he's too old for the usual Brian shenenigans? Although - was all the phone business fake?

mummytime · 31/03/2014 21:10

I was wondering about drugs (maybe Steroids?) with Dan. That or a girl/boyfriend.

Well in my family, my FIL would have told everyone the news. Jenny is David's Aunt afterall. And at times David and Brian have been close.

I'm sure we'll find out eventually what is making Brian so happy.

I thought Adam was acted brilliantly tonight - so much meaning in those reponses to Rob.
I also loved JD's comment about all marriage's involving sacrifices, and brilliantly done as an aside almost to herself.

WillieWaggledagger · 31/03/2014 21:17

David's cousin I think?

Brian was treating JD like a servant

selsigfach · 31/03/2014 21:29

Vaguely related or not, the only people who should be telling others about Ruth's miscarriage are Ruth and David. Shula should have kept her big mouth shut.

Nennypops · 31/03/2014 21:32

Enjoying the fact that the net of people who hate or at least can see right through Rob is spreading ever wider. By my count we've got: Ian, Adam, Kirsty, Tom, Pat, Tony, Kenton, and Jolene, and it looks like Jazzer isn't necessarily too impressed. With any luck Jennydahling will join in at some point when Jess spills the beans, and she'll make sure the entire extended Archer family know all about him; and Jolene will spread the hate round the Bull. Now we just need Radio Susan to get in on the act.

GypsyFloss · 31/03/2014 21:33

Although in fairness Rooth is not above a bit of gossip spreading herself , done in a solicitous stage whisper and oozing faux concern.

Nennypops · 31/03/2014 21:34

Brian was treating JD like a servant

Agreed. For the first time I began to understand why she felt she richly deserved the marble tiles and the boiling water tap.

WillieWaggledagger · 31/03/2014 22:01

Ruth did let the cat out of the bag re the possible TB

Though not comparable really as was Tony's mother and not a MC!

JollyGolightly · 31/03/2014 22:20

Dan is sweet on Fallon after their collaboration on the Sports Relief event, I reckon.

Excellent episode this evening, particular credit to JD and B, and the lovely Adam.

SomewhereBeyondTheSea · 31/03/2014 23:08

Another thread already ?! (Marking place again)

Adam is very good at the noncommittal 'mmmmm' noises ...

LilacBreastedRoller · 01/04/2014 06:55

I'm afraid poor Dan is being lined up for an eating disorder storyline.

selsigfach · 01/04/2014 07:00

Ooh good point re Dan liking Fallon. Though she has to be about 15 years older than him..... If TA were RL, he would have hooked up with his uni mates' student friends, surely.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/04/2014 07:24

Gay men of his age probably had to get good at that to stay below the radar of Rob types.

Few things more satisfying than watching a repellent fish wriggling on a hook of its own making.

Now that is a nice turn of phrase. Repellent Rob indeed.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 01/04/2014 10:49

Not sure it's boss's son's partner as much as own partner's 'best friend' - he knows it's not going to be as easy to isolate Helen from Ian as from her 'selfish' parents

Toomuch, I thought Dan might be on a weight loss mission, given the combination of much exercise with a hasty escape from Shula's suggestion of lunch, followed by taking his dinner up to his room. The aftershave and new shirt do point to some kind of comedy courtship angle, though!
