Just don't be so careless with your watch Helen

First time I've ever been on Rob's side. About time somebody took a firm line with Henry.

ppeatfruit · 26/02/2014 09:57

Blimey you lot are busy i can't keep up! Oh my village deep in rural Fr. has had (within 8 yrs.)

!. One man of 50 living alone found dead of heart attack after being left for 5 days

  1. One old man hung himself (depressed alky with vile sister who hasn't talked to her sister, who lives 4 houses away, for 40 years).
  2. Ex priest who had left the priesthood to marry his ex alky wife.
  3. Youngish alky policeman whose partner chucked him out after he threatened her and son with a gun.

I could go on the history is unbelievable. Though true!!

But I won't bore you with the true sensationalism!! Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 26/02/2014 12:02

I was surprised how cheerful Henry was at the end of the episode, after the strop (though it was a pretty small one) and Rob being cross .... one thing to be said for his somewhat unconventional conception is that fortunately for him he's not the son of any of Helen's choices of DP.

bigbadbarry · 26/02/2014 12:27

My 4-year-old this morning wanted to know who Henry's dad is and how is he connected to Kirsty (she likes Kirsty). Start 'em young :)

JessieMcJessie · 26/02/2014 13:46

Wow, that's a pretty perceptive 4 year old to have worked out that Rob isn't Henry's Dad. What did you tell her?

I don't think she had exactly worked out that Rob wasn't his dad, she just wanted to know who was!
I have high hopes for her. The other two like the theme tune but show no further interest.
(I said Henry doesn't have a dad and left it at that. Didn't really want to discuss sperm donors.)

BasketzatDawn · 26/02/2014 19:11

'rather nice young policeman' - oh, Jill Grin. Who on earth could she mean.

BitOutOfPractice · 26/02/2014 19:38

Oh Sad I hoped he was ringing her to arrange another meeting

bigbadbarry · 26/02/2014 19:44

Ooh so maybe people are right and Jess is a psychology while Rob is entirely lovely.

bigbadbarry · 26/02/2014 19:44

A psychology? Stupid auto correct.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/02/2014 19:50

I though Rob had already told Helen that he was getting a divorce - that call sounded like it was the first time he'd mentioned it to Jess. And what was that 'you've gone too far this time' - her turning up at their house? She didn't sound like she knew Helen would be there - though she wasn't surprised by it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/02/2014 20:03

Jess will end up under the patio, mark my words! Then nice young policeman will investigate the murrrderrrr Grin

And, dear god, what a truculent besom emmurr is!

Wordsaremything · 26/02/2014 20:16

I have found my spiritual home! I can remember where I was at the fondant fancy moment....
Read the whole thread on the train home...
I also wondered about the laptop comment (way up thread)
Could Hellin's wunderkind be heading for a fatal accident? Maybe when p and t are babysitting ....tragedy stalking ect ect. Hellin's turns to knob for comfort, he continues to exploit and manipulate... Oh I don't know!!

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/02/2014 20:23

Don't think they dare kill off the donor kebabby!

I think thRob will gradually turn the screw on Hellin - revealing, little by little, more of his nasty, controlling ways. H will be in denial but tiny doubts will start to creep in. She will have a phone conversation with Jess and arrange to meet her to get the low down. Jess will not turn up (due to patio)

Dun dun DUN!!!

Wordsaremything · 26/02/2014 20:48

Bore - your scenario so much better! Am hopeless at this!
Snorking at dinner kebab by tho !

Wordsaremything · 26/02/2014 20:49

Donner ach

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 26/02/2014 20:53

No-one's deading any more Bridge Farm descendants or they'll have me to answer to.

And poor Emma was only worried about losing her job. (It's utterly ridiculous for Jill to have been poking her nose into the cleaning in preparation. She's far too mature to have such beginner's anxiety.)

nennypops · 26/02/2014 21:00

So surely they've got to come up with some love interest for the gorgeous cop. Is Pip going to be prised away from the boring farmer over the summer vacation?

nennypops · 26/02/2014 21:04

What's happened about Jill's eye op? I thought it was urgent back in December. Has she had one of those Ambridge miracle cures? I did wonder how she could read all the use-by dates on Roooth's ancient tins in the pantry.

Burma · 26/02/2014 21:05

Our village has had a suicide, a farmer who died and was driven around (dead) on the tractor to say goodbye to the land and his animals, an alcoholic lady vicar, replacement vicar who ran off with a teacher from the school (no more vicars anymore - couldn't cope) and we definitely have a Lynda who lives 'abroad' and only pops back every couple of years to visit upset everyone. I'm totally with TA being utterly real Grin!

GypsyFloss · 26/02/2014 21:10

Missed tonight, anything exciting? By which I mean the the Cheese Straw and Rob the knob...not interested in hooting Ruth and Jill and the gerontophile copper.

My ad pop ups on the ipad have started showing ads for flat pack cabin sleeper beds. Do you reckon someone somewhere is monitoring my radio listening and thread posts? Grin

campion · 26/02/2014 21:15

I sincerely hope not nennypops. Can't tell you what bliss a Pip-free archers is.

Long may the noble people of the county of my birth endure her whinings (poor things)

Northernlurker · 26/02/2014 21:21

In the village my mum was born in we've had umpteen affairs, two tragic deaths via motorbike, suicide of stressed teacher (drank sheep dip) AND axe murder (yes really) of wife by husband who then topped himself. My great-grandma was the unfortunate neighbour who went round and found the victim's body. That's over about 80 years mind you.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 26/02/2014 21:25

Yes, how exactly has Jess gone too far???
