TA is in a purple patch at the moment, rewarding listeners for wading through the dross of the previous year few months. Welcome all!

He will never forget that tune you know (in a good way) which makes me feel all nostalgic about my childhood!

I have found it is an excellent dirty job tune - talking scrubbing and not boudoir antics (can you imagine!). Also the perfect accompaniment to grating cheese - try it!

BeaLola · 13/02/2014 01:03

I think whiney Helen will incur Robs wrath by moaning about the bed ..... The bed he shared with Jess .....

GypsyFloss · 13/02/2014 19:07

Crikey, golden boy Tom. He's got her wrapped around his fat sausage fingers.

Shallishanti · 13/02/2014 19:07

whaaat 17-18 thousand pounds????
what about- WAIT or, have a cheaper wedding

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 13/02/2014 19:15

"Is that better now Rob?"

ShockShockShock

He's making her change her clothes now?

Shallishanti · 13/02/2014 19:15

yes, that what I thought

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 13/02/2014 19:16

They have been reading this thread.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 13/02/2014 19:20

God, I don't know which is worse:

Peggy's cruelty and disloyalty to her son / Tom's sense of entitlement.

Or Rob's cruelty and deception / Helen's stubborn stupidity.

OiVaVoi · 13/02/2014 19:21

why are you so certain that Rob is dicking around? (having half listened to the Archers for years I am just getting into it so may have missed something...)

ErrolTheDragon · 13/02/2014 19:27

I distrust Rob because of the way he treated Jess. And dumping Helen once already.

OiVaVoi · 13/02/2014 19:30

but what makes Zero think he is being deceptive NOW? (oh god i'm getting sucked in)

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 13/02/2014 19:37

Oi Leaving aside the marriage mess and the fact he's obviously going to be with someone else tomorrow night - he is now clearly deceiving Helen in a Relationships board sense. Michelin stars and expensive gifts, but she apologized for whatever it was that he didn't like about her outfit. (And if any man ever told me that I was expected to look "gorgeous".....Angry

Earlier this week I learnt the word "dicknotized" on MN. Handy.

GypsyFloss · 13/02/2014 19:41

What Zero said.

Shallishanti · 13/02/2014 19:41

it was quite subtle though, wasn't it
(for someone that hasn't been on the relationships board)

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 13/02/2014 19:47

With both my DC when little I would sing the Archers theme while holding their hands and waving them about in time to the tune. They found it hilarious, and it also worked on friends' LOs even if the friends thought I was barking

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 13/02/2014 19:58

BTW.....

Where's p....fruit?

Did I miss a name-change? So many of you have changed recently. (Don't say out loud if so.)

HumphreyCobbler · 13/02/2014 20:15

DH sometimes used to put the Archers theme tune into the middle of a tune set. I don't think anyone ever noticed Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 13/02/2014 20:55

I think that reason Helen's ok with P&T looking after Henry (after her door darkening threats) is because Rob suggested it. She's desperate for is approval (see also the 'is that better' and interrupted apology today)

HumphreyCobbler · 13/02/2014 20:56

am frustrated due to tonight's episode not being up yet

Selks · 13/02/2014 21:36

It's 9.30 and they still haven't put todays episode up on the website to listen to! How long does it normally take? Hmm

JessieMcJessie · 14/02/2014 00:48

Ooh yes, the little bit where she was clearly apologising for not having chosen clothes to his liking - that was CHILLING. So subtly done as well.

On Tom and Kirsty, normally I like Kirsty but I am not happy about her refusing to build on the farm. Yes, it was a plan he had with Brenda but they can configure the house exactly as they want it and if I understand correctly the plot is not exactly in the yard next door to P&T's gaff. It's not like Tom wanted them to buy an open market house that he and Brenda had picked - it's not at all unreasonable for Tom as the heir to the farm to be planning to live there and Kirsty should know that.

Kirsty is usually sensible and it's out of character for her too insist on them incurring a whole load of extra costs just for emotional reasons. I also don"t believe that eco warrior Kirsty would be at all excited by the idea of marble-lined Catheridge hall and princess wedding dresses. I think she'd find them all naff. And she gets on WELL with Pat and Tony and Helen is her best mate - surely part of the attraction is to be marrying into a farming family. They have only done this to set up the scenario where Tom goes to Peggy, thus causing Tony more upset.

BitOutOfPractice · 14/02/2014 01:23

Selks I'm sorry to say but I don't think they put the podcast up till after the repeat at 2pm tomorrow!

JessieMcJessie · 14/02/2014 05:41

Nope, podcast goes up after the 7pm transmission. I listen to it every morning in Hong Kong on the way to work-that's about midnight UK time.

WillieWaggledagger · 14/02/2014 06:47

It's clear now why the Helen/Rob thing has been rushed along since Christmas - they had to squeeze everything in for a valentine's day denouement. I do hope it's good tonight - they've been building it up enough

ComposHat · 14/02/2014 06:56

still yes the archers theme tune is linked to my childhood. I used to dance round the kitchen to it (along with sport on four & breakaway themes)

How old were people wgen they started listening to the Archers (independently? ) I was 19 and it marked me out as a bit of a weirdo at university. It was well known that I wouldn't welcome visitors between 7 & 7:15.
