I find thr storyline re Peggy's opinions on the running of Bridge Farm total nonsense. Yes, fair enough that she might feel generally that P&T have not made enough money to give Helen and Tom total financial security but what the bleep does an east end girl turned pub lady turned hotel admin assistant know about running a farm? All this about her disagreeing with Pat's "vision". It's as stupid as if Pat and Tony ran, say, an IT consultancy and she was expressing an opinion about that. The problem with the storyline is that it would work if Bridge farm had been passed down from Peggy to Tony first (eg if she was to Bridge Farm what Jill is to Brookfield), but this is just an old bat being opinionated about her son's job. I am surprised Pat did not slap her.
Also, I think the SWs have erred in giving most of Jack's money to Hazel then starting this Peggy storyline because, as pointed out upthread, Peggy's estate is probably not worth much. Yes she has the "minor interest" in Jack's investments but those investments were not worth as much as Hazel expected them to be, so Peggy's share can't be that much. I see that they want Hazel tto have some power over the village, but why not just give her the shop and have most of the money stay with Peggy, lending more credibility to the whole Peggy's will drama.
In other news though, I did love Peggy's outrage at the idea of Rob and really do hope she tears a strip off them. Such a shame we have to wait until Friday!
I also would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Rob "told Brian about the situation" as reported by Jennydarling.
