TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 20/01/2014 13:05

All good stuff
More aboutpats affair pls

ErrolTheDragon · 20/01/2014 13:06

What does Elona get?
Pissed off at being called Polish, I'd imagine - she's originally Albanian. Wink

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 20/01/2014 13:07

mm, Elona wasn't mentioned - not in Jack's will, but then Elona only came on the scene after Jack had lost capacity?

She might get a small bequest from Peggy but that wouldn't have come up at the family meeting

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 20/01/2014 13:08

Grin Errol

(I can never remember which E European country she's supposed to be from!)

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 20/01/2014 13:09

Olivia, wiki says

'Much taken with studying feminism in the mid-1980s she came close to having an affair with her lecturer, Roger, just before Bridge Farm entered the process of becoming organic'

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 13:13

SOrry! no national offence intended to miserable moany Elona who I hated as much as bloody Daryl (enough already!).

Also Pat n NewTony are going to want Peggy to leave some money to their estranged grandson with the mother who detests them. That boy is good at cricket isn't he? He 'll need some expensive whites!

I was kidding about Elona but Peggy is obviously deranged by mild grief and it's effected her decision making.

Here's a picture of The Lodge (scroll through the slideshow if this link doesn't take you straight there). It says on the text that it's only small. I wonder what Caroline and Oliver will make of having Helen and Henry living so close to Grey Gables.

This is a bit like it. Going for £425k.

I suppose it depends a lot on location.

Certainly a decent inheritance for a single woman with a child!

ErrolTheDragon · 20/01/2014 13:38

Those look a bit bigger than the ones in the ambridge pictures (no 27) - probably ideal for Helen and Henry but not for Rob too.

TaurielTest · 20/01/2014 13:41

Delurking in appreciation for the thread.
So good - especially now we're actually getting some juicy storylines rather than plodding out-of-character stuff to roll our eyes at - to have somewhere to come and say "Did you hear that hideous reference to Tess ... which one is he indeed" or "imagine the look on Jennydarling's face". Was I the only one hoping that the flaming wassail torches were going to stray a bit too close to Darrell's shed with the dodgy heating?

PrincessFiorimonde · 20/01/2014 13:43

I'm looking forward to Peggy having an Opinion on Helen and Rob too!

I wonder who'll be the first to mention it to her - Helen herself, or Pat/Tony? Or might Jenny feel duty bound to drop poison in her ear?

TallGiraffe · 20/01/2014 13:46

How much did Pat and Tony get from the sale of the cows?

LondonMother · 20/01/2014 13:50

My link is to a 3-bed house, which I agree is probably too big. Original's are both 2-bed - surely The Lodge must have at least 2 bedrooms?

Of course, Helen might not want to live in it. In her current loved up state, she would probably sell it and buy a place with Rob. Looking forward very much to Peggy's views on the latest instalment in Helen's disastrous love life!

OddFodd · 20/01/2014 13:51

I think they got about £200k but it all went into their retirement pot didn't it?

OddFodd · 20/01/2014 13:59

Love that slideshow :o

ComposHat · 20/01/2014 14:00

Yes it did. Surely vthey should hsvr invested some of it in the Plague Farm rather than squirrelling it all away.

LondonMother · 20/01/2014 14:19

The slideshow is great, isn't it! And no photos of actors, which I know a lot of people hate. All tasteful artist's impressions.

TheSparklyPussycat · 20/01/2014 14:45

It was a stroke of genius to have this at the beginning of the week imho

Pollycazalet · 20/01/2014 15:13

Can I join you? I've been listening on and off for years and have no one in real life to discuss it with!

This latest twist is fantastic - but can't the cousins legitimately complain that Peggy has already given Tom loads of money to prop up EasySausage?

Also can someone remind me about Rich and who he is?

StickyProblem · 20/01/2014 15:28

Thanks LondonMother! I didn't think Matt had ever made (or kept) any money... he's a spender, a Grant Bovey type.

I can see Hellin flogging the Lodge as soon as poss to invest in Rob's latest project... not that I have any particular reason to believe he's not good with money. Can you tell I am usually disappointed in the Archers because I expect things to actually happen?!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 20/01/2014 15:33

I was only joking about Elona too... (And I know she's not Polish...)

Polly Rich is John's only lately discovered son with a woman who used to live in the village but was driven out by flaming torches and being looked down upon.

His mother is settled elsewhere (Near Leeds?) with a partner who has brought the boy up. He has met Pat and Tony but he's not a regular part of their lives.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 20/01/2014 15:38

My guess would be that - Peggy's will not yet being set in stone - once she finds out about Helen and Rob she will stipulate that Helen only inherits if she drops him - and Helen will refuse to do so.

But with the new blood now visibly running through the plots - it might even be something unexpectedShockGrin
