In a bored moment I once compiled a list of Archer's miraculous cures/long term medical conditions that have no impact at all on the day to day life of the person concerned. Can't find it now, but it certainly included Brian's epilepsy, Daniel's juvenile arthritis and obesity,Abbie's prematurity, Bethany's Down's syndrome, Jazzer's brain damage, Lizzie's heart condition, Ruth's breast cancer and Helen's eating disorder

I confidently expect Nigel to pop up fully restored to health any day now.

ppeatfruit · 02/01/2014 11:11

Yeah curlew Nige will return after having a bad dream in the shower Grin

TheSparklyPussycat · 02/01/2014 11:14

Or here's a thought - the ghost of Nigel returns, and can only be seen by David.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/01/2014 11:25

whether you are susceptible to lung cancer depends on your genes so some people can smoke all their lives and never get it. However, they will generally suffer other effects - bronchial problems etc.

I confidently expect Nigel to pop up fully restored to health any day now.
no, quick deaths are terminal. Nigel, John, Mark - must be others.

I still vaguely hope that Nelson Gabriel will reappear - I was never convinced by his off-air termination.

Lilymaid · 02/01/2014 11:28

I expect a visit from Hazel Woolley if Jack is kicking the bucket.

ppeatfruit · 02/01/2014 11:34

OMG I'd forgotten all about Hazel Woolley Lilymaid maybe they've been waiting for the actress to detox or something Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/01/2014 11:35

krisstoffer's cleft lip and, more recently, complete recovery from major trauma and head injury.

Hellin's intermittent mood swings which means she must be handled with kid gloves and deferred to at all times by Pat'n'Moany, left she relapse.

One-eyed Mike's one eye...

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/01/2014 11:36

Joe's farmers' lung...

curlew · 02/01/2014 11:42

Not forgetting Adam's coma.....

ErrolTheDragon · 02/01/2014 11:58

krisstoffer's cleft lip
well, that one is fair enough for surgery and forget - it's not something you'd expect to hear about afterwards.

Selks · 02/01/2014 14:18

Aww Peggy and Jack....

Excuse me while I have a little blub

choccyp1g · 02/01/2014 14:20

But the big question is, which one of them dies?

Impomea · 02/01/2014 14:36

As Jack is already dead in RL perhaps they think it's time to kill them both off.The actress who plays Peggy is in her 90s I think so may want to retire.

ppeatfruit · 02/01/2014 14:41

Yes Imp it must have a taken a lot of energy for Peggy to dig him up to say goodbye Grin Apologies for my black sense of humour Grin

Jinglebellsforthebetter · 02/01/2014 14:42

Jack and Peggy Sad

Hellin and Rotten Robbie (boak)

ppeatfruit · 02/01/2014 14:42

Oooh and how do we reckon Jennifer is going to react when she puts 2 and 2 together and gets the right answer?!

Pilcrow · 02/01/2014 14:51

Re. ages, I can never quite get my head around the fact that Shula (Judy Bennett) is married in RL to Charles Collingwood who is, of course, the dastardly Brine. She is in her 70's iirc, making her rather older than Saint Shula.

In fact I've been listening so long that I well remember the lavish picture spread in Radio Times when St. Shugs married Mark Hebden, and there was rather, ahem, enthusiastic use of bridal veiling to obscure the fact that there was a steep difference in the ages of the 2 actors playing bride and groom.

Maybe someone with a better memory can remind me but I have a niggling recollection that when Alice was born, there was something medically amiss with her too - certainly she's in rude health these days, maybe another example of the miraculous curative powers of the bracing Ambridge air?

That will mean they'll have to dispatch Shula at an earlier age than the extended longevity which usually comes with Ambridge air (accidents apart). They obviously didn't realise when they hired her that TA would persist so long!

Yes Pilcrow I agree about the enthusiastic use of bridal veiling for St. Shuls. wedding photos, also a great amount of vaseline was used on the camera lens, and or 'touching up' of the photos Grin!

PocketFluff · 02/01/2014 15:50

Just discovered this thread, hi!

I was thinking the same Miss Fenella, they made such a big deal of Rich being 'discovered' and then Hellin and Tom's angst about how it was going to affect them, for what? Did the scriptwriters lose the file with that storyline on? Seems a bit weird that (as far as I can recall) he hasn't been mentioned since. Unless they're building up to something big? Something that will actually SATTC this time?!

NorthernLebkuchen · 02/01/2014 15:56

Presumably Rich will show up to the wedding of the century?

PocketFluff · 02/01/2014 16:08

Ooh, yes! Didn't think of that.

And will then try to stake a claim on Bridge Farm... and want to sell it to the mega dairy!

Or, most probably, will just talk about cricket and go for a walk with Tony.
