New thread!

Hi Olivia Cake

Would there ever be a possibility of tempting, coaxing dragging a TA writer onto Mnet? For a little chat....

We would be SO kind and gentle and grateful.....

Somethingyesterday · 03/09/2013 09:49

Pseudo Is it possible you are right?? Because even if enemy exes find a way to be civil to one another they could never resist mentioning "old stuff". Kirsty and Tom never ever refer to anything that happened when they were previously together.

OliviaMMumsnet · 03/09/2013 10:27

Whatever happened to the girl from the supermarket? The buyer?
SHe melted off back to Tes-bury-son's didn't she?
She wasn't interested and Tom wanted to marry HER as well no?
Why didn't he wanna marry Kirsty?

SomethingYesterday- I will make gentle enquiries but make NO promises.

Somethingyesterday · 03/09/2013 10:40

Oooh! Thank you! (Naturally there would be NO three day build up of snidey comments...)

I don't think Tom got as far as wanting to propose to the buyer. She let him know very quickly that he was an unsophisticated yokel.

But of course in the meantime he had decided that Kirsty was not sophisticated enough for him...

TheGhostOfNigelPargetter · 03/09/2013 11:04

I will make gentle enquiries but make NO promises.

Oooh, that would be such fun. We would be very nice to them. Not!

OliviaMMumsnet · 03/09/2013 11:36

where does kirsty come from anyway?
how did she end up in ambridge?
Where are her folks?

GrendelsMum · 03/09/2013 12:43

Kirsty was a krusty eco-warrior who arrived in Ambridge to protest against GM crops back in the days when Tom was also an eco-warrior and against corporates. She liked it so much (despite the lack of jobs, relationships and housing), she never left

Panzee · 03/09/2013 13:03

The Tom/Kirsty saga is before I started listening. And you're right, if I hadn't read it here I would never have known they used to be together.
Do you think the writers know? :o

Pancakeflipper · 03/09/2013 13:08

I tell you Cathy is going to snog Martyn. Then they will be the most depressing and irritating couple in Ambridge.

Not listened this week yet - is Helen still slurping all over Rob's face ?

LondonMother · 03/09/2013 17:47

Martin is married so I hope we don't hear any snogging from him. One affair is more than enough at any one time, thank you very much. No slurping for a few days now but constant vigilance is needed as they are bound to start up again soon, new cows or no new cows. The instant Rob gets an evening off Helen will have an emergency jewellery class.

LondonMother · 03/09/2013 19:12

Ahem. Mystic Meg has nothing on me.

guineapiglet · 03/09/2013 19:15

Am I the only one to think that all the fuss about the mega dairy in the village has been swept aside - plenty of protests to begin with, but now it seems to be up and functioning without any further demonstrations, animal rights protests or the like - where are they all? All those poor cows transported hundreds of miles and condemned to an interminable life producing milk and never seeing a blade of grass in their sad little lives. :(

I was really hoping there would be a glitch and the whole thing would unravel. I am beyond bored with the Helen and Rob story, snogging in view of the whole village( in front of Henry). Have been listening to TA for nearly 30 yearsBlush, and am beginning to lose the will to keep listening, the stories are so bland and unrealistic.

PseudoBadger · 03/09/2013 19:19

I do hope that Tom gets a pay day loan to get him through the month...

Impomea · 03/09/2013 20:03

Why was Shula talking about seeing Daniel off at the departure gate ? Do you fly to Yorkshire from the midlands now?

Maybe Helin and Rob will be outed by Henry!

PseudoBadger · 03/09/2013 20:06

Daniel went to the US...

OP posts:
LondonMother · 03/09/2013 21:19

'Why oo kissin Rob, Mummy?''

'Pat! Pat! I need a bit of help with the veg boxes...'

'Shush, Tony! Henry darling, what did you just say?'

Impomea · 03/09/2013 21:21

Thank's PB I really must pay attention.

Ponders · 03/09/2013 21:32

when did Daniel go to America, & what for? Isn't he supposed to be starting at uni this term???

(another one not paying enough attention)

(well not paying any, a lot of the time lately )

PseudoBadger · 03/09/2013 21:33

I think it's a Gap Year

R4 · 03/09/2013 23:15

Gosh LondonMother. How did you possibly work out the next step in the Hellin and Rob story - do you have ESP? or are the storylines leadenly signposted Wink

I think that Daniel had adventuring fun over the summer but is now knuckling down to some lawyer-type interning in NYC and will go to University in Sep 2014.

JessieMcJessie · 04/09/2013 04:12

Nope, he appears to be a camp counsellor doing riding and other outdoor activities in Wyoming, followed by a bit of travelling. Good on him. I was surprised that Shula didn't tell Ruth to stop being so wet- Pip is a good few years older and has only gone to Yorkshire (and is a whiny pain in the arse they should be glad to see the back of).

R4 · 04/09/2013 09:17

I stand corrected. He wanted to do an internship but couldn't find a placement.

GrimmaTheNome · 04/09/2013 10:10

Jessie - yes ...surely the difference isn't because Pip is a girl?

R4 · 04/09/2013 11:03

But it doesn't make sense Grimma. Ruth moved from Prudhoe to Ambridge, so she should be thinking that Ambridge to Yorkshire is a walk in the park in comparison. It's about a hundred miles' less distance!
I could (sort of) understand home-boy Dave fretting, but not Ruth.

Ponders · 04/09/2013 11:21

he appears to be a camp counsellor doing riding and other outdoor activities

that's what I inferred, JessieMcJ - but camps are long over, schools went back last week, & Shula was talking in the present tense, wasn't she?
