Sorry to steal the idea from the other thread....

In terms of nice people, it used to be Saint Nigel :( What a lovely man if a bit of an upper class twit
His mantle has been taken on by Oliver. Another nice chap.

I quite like Alice and Chris at the moment.

And I'd give Ed one....

I have an inexplicable soft spot for Roooooooth

notnowImreading · 30/10/2011 19:21

Lilian. I aspire to be her one day, darling.

missmapp · 30/10/2011 19:21

Jill, she always makes me feel so clam, phill did the same- oh and nigel.

I agree with chris, but alice doing her poor as church mice act is a bit much!! I like clarry too

missmapp · 30/10/2011 19:22

thats calm, jill has never made me feel like a clam!!

TheGhostOfMrsWembley · 30/10/2011 19:24

They've all been driving me up the wall recently. Haven't listened regularly since DS was born (4m). I was getting a soft spot for Harry, but then the thing between him and Fallon fizzled out. What happened there? Did I miss an episode? Suddenly he was mooning around one of the pickers! What was that all about?Hmm

Grockle · 30/10/2011 19:25

Oh, Olivia, me too Blush

krisskross · 30/10/2011 19:27

i missed a few and suddenly fallon was mad about harry??
jill drives me round the bend.

you've got to love linda though, surely.

and helen drives me bananas too. did i misread the title of the thread?

ObviouslyOblivious · 30/10/2011 19:27

Jill- I'm just so put off by the way she says "oh'!"

Ignore the extra apostrophe...

Ruth - oh my lordy no - she drives me insane with her 'oooh I can't cook' and 'woops I'm almost shagging the cowman in the woodshed'.

And Jill is just too bossy - actually where is Jilly - she hasn't been on much at all.

I do love pusscat and tiger though.

And I too like Linda - when the writers aren't making her too silly she can be really lovely.

EdlessAllenPoe · 30/10/2011 19:32

i love Brian. he's such a tool, but can be a total rock of sense sometimes..

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/10/2011 19:34

Yes I like Brian just because he's sooo naughty.

Panzee · 30/10/2011 22:14

I love Lilian. Pass round the gin darling!

CristinaaarghdellAaarghPizza · 30/10/2011 22:19

Got to be Lillian apart from her hopeless blind spot when it comes to her fatuous son.

I used to like Hayley but then she became boring and a different actress.

And after a PITA beginning, Jim is growing on me

Oliver is the only resident I can bear.

But I love it when Debbie A wanders in and I just soak up her wonderful voice. Even when she's trying so hard to be patient with awful Adam.

heronsfly · 30/10/2011 23:02

I like David,no idea how he produced the dreadful Pip though !Grin

NorksAreMessy · 30/10/2011 23:13

Hooray for Clive Horrobin.

He is IRL my friend's DH so we want him to stick around causing trouble to make a few mortgage payments :)

NorksAreMessy · 30/10/2011 23:16

Neil Kinnock used to call The Archers "The Grundys and Their Oppressors" poor Clarrie.

I too loved Nigel-Nice-But-Dim and was very sad to hear him go.

But love Linda story lines best, she has an inner sadness that is very appealing and compelling.

Hearing Tamsin Greig as Debbie is a bit odd nowadays

I might like The Archers a bit too much

Fiderer · 31/10/2011 08:00

Joe, Clarrie and Eddie "Clarrie-luv" Grundy.

Linda - agree with Norks (the sentences you type on MN!) Robert is a Good Egg too.

Lilian and Matt are always good value. As is Jolene.

Have a soft spot for JennyDarling.

OliviaMN's soft spot for Ruth is truly inexplicable.

R4 · 31/10/2011 08:31

I used to like Shula, back in the day when she had a lot of buddy scenes with Caroline. It's a shame that they changed her character.
OTOH, Lynda's morphing in the opposite direction has been good.
David is a Good Bloke but he has to be - that's the job description of the Archer pater familias.
I used to like the Dog Woman too.

But absolute favourite has to be the lovely Nigel. RIP. Sad

Fiderer · 31/10/2011 18:22

I liked Shula and Caroline together too. Reminds me also that I like Caroline a lot more.
She (Sara Coward) was in a Morse episode, the one where the American tourists stay in the Randolph Hotel, working in reception. Made me smile.

NorksAreMessy · 31/10/2011 22:29

R4 do you mean Marjorie Antrobus? I liked her too. And Walter Gabriel

SoMuchToBats · 31/10/2011 22:32

Oooh, I used to like Nelson Gabriel - a kind of loveable rogue.........
