Will and Ed are so obviously being set up for serious conflict that it could be a bit of a red herring. I kind of hope so because I don't want Will to kill Ed (I like Ed) or Ed to kill Will (because Ed would go to prison ... I wouldn't mind Will being dedded).

Kathy is a bit of a tragic figure with her history of husband-losing and misery and rape and depression, and her current inability to get on her son's wavelength. It makes me so sad for her and for Jamie. I don't much like her really, but I would like to see things get better for them, mainly for Jamie's sake.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, that doesn't leave many people to kill/be killed. I could happily see Helen, Brendurr, Vicky, Tom, Kate, Nigel or Lizzie head for the country village in the sky without shedding too many tears.

Maybe there's no murder at all, it'll be a faulty wire at the village hall and there will be a huge fire during the panto and some randoms will be wiped out.

We are not thinking radically enough.

They dropped the tagline of 'an everyday story of country folk' fairly recently. What do you bet that some twelve year old executive (? Ed Reardon) decides that it is still a bit too agricultural and they engineer a plot whereby Matt Crawford gets the planners to designate Ambridge as a New Town and it gets built up (cue lots of 'I remember when it was all fields round here'Grin). Then the scriptwriters can have fun getting all edgy and urban instead of writing about cows and the Panto.
Shock

I was sure something was going to blow up between Ed and Will at the YF ball but so far they're actually being quite civilized. Who'd have thought it?

I'm with Jo. Harry is just too good to be true. He's going to take out Jazzer using ruined pan and cooks knife, surely?

"John Archer being murdered by a tractor."

not murdered, as the tractor would only be the implement, unless you know self-aware tractors (do they say 'good morning' when they drive past?)

"I wouldn't mind Will being dedded"

Amen to that! Will is so routinely unhappy, in a similar way to Linda having an irritating voice, and someone that all (apart from Robert) seem to wish to avoid if at all possible...
