Am I the first?

OP posts:
basl · 19/05/2010 22:56

Sorry Maxy thought i was the lone talker again. It is so tough when our kids are poorly and i can totally sympathies with the pinning him down as Daniel is so grumpy and moody when ill and he shouts No mummy then takes it finally after i pour it down. Awww Maxy i know how you feel. Shame James can't read as sure my last story would put anyone to sleep. Hang in there.

basl · 19/05/2010 23:16

Now i am not being sad or anything but i just wanted being as i have the stage to my self let you see the words to my first dance when i got married. I am soo sorry and may bore some people with my non pushchair chat but just flick past and sorry if i am too much.

When somebody loves you
It's no good unless he loves you all the way
Happy to be near you
When you need someone to cheer you - all the way

Taller than the tallest tree is
That's how it's got to feel
Deeper than the deep blue sea is
That's how deep it goes - if it's real

When somebody needs you
It's no good unless he needs you - all the way
Through the good or lean years
And for all the in-between years - come what may

Who knows where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you'll let me love you
It's for sure I'm gonna love you
All the way
All the way

BexieID · 19/05/2010 23:48

I hate cava. Love asti though!

basl · 20/05/2010 00:00

Ahhh hiya Bexie i just like the bubbles. I am a bit funny with it and not too keen on the Asti but never a girl to refuse. How are your Dc tonight?

horsemadgal · 20/05/2010 00:06

I had to go YouTube that Basl.
Mine was Blanket on the Ground LOL!

horsemadgal · 20/05/2010 00:09

No I'm talking rubbish that was my second dance, first was Wonderful Tonight.
Third was King of the Road (prior to The Proclaimers version I must say!)

basl · 20/05/2010 00:28

Ahhhh I love King of the Road but speaking of Proclaimers our second dance was "lets get Married" and when i look back the video i had not a care in the world. It was such a funny song and everyone loved it. Even the yorkshire lot who probably had no idea what the Proclaimers where saying. Ahhh when i think back.
Now i do have a funny story to tell and i am sure you will not tell a soul as it is rather embarrassing.
When i was having my photos taken before my wedding the photographer took me aside and told me he could see my knickers. He did not want to ruin the photos and could i change???

I had spent a small fortune on them so i promptly took them off. Yes off. When i arrived at the Abbey my husband to be was crying sooo much it was getting awkward so i had to say something. I gently wispered into his ear i had no knickers on and that soon shut him up but i did not realise how powerful the microphone was the priest had and the all of the front row heard. My gran was mortified but she understood why after a few sherries.

I seem to be little miss chatter box tonight and sorry if i have offended anyone lol. I think it was the cava!!!

nicolamumof3 · 20/05/2010 08:18

lol basl that is so funny! can't wait to meet you

maxybrown · 20/05/2010 08:25

ah what a wonderful start to the day Basl for me - really made me smile! Loved your song too. We didn't have a song........or a dance that is the only little thing that makes me a bit sad we had a lovely day, although it was very small (VERY) and we weren't bothered about "the wedding" just being married and i don't regret our wedding at all - I would secretly like a party.........never told anyone that still, that is spoilt bratness.

Sun breaking through clouds, am roasting already! james slept through the night, still in bed - wahoo! And that was after 3 hours in the evening too, so def not 100%

nicolamumof3 · 20/05/2010 08:28

maxy maybe you could renew your vows? dh and i are already talking of doing that for our tenth anniv and we haven't even been married a year yet! we just had such an amzing day.

maxybrown · 20/05/2010 08:36

How are you this morning Nicola?

basl · 20/05/2010 09:06

Maxy have a parteeeee. I will come!!! Just goes to show all the palavar i had Abbey, priest, First, second song party and look at the state we are in. So goes to show really who's vows meant more to them. Big is not always better. So Have a party anyway unless you decide to renew like Nicola suggested. I highly recommend Las Vegas. Such an underated place. We had the time of our lives and been three times. The first time we hired an old American soft top and drove to The Grand Canyon via the desert and it was like the Thelma and Louise film. I was sooo happy then so if you win the lottery i could recommend a lovley hotel and we will all come.

Nicola i hope you are feeling better today? I don't know what has got into me i seem to be a bit hyper with the chatting.

nicolamumof3 · 20/05/2010 09:17

do feel better...keep getting a sharp pain every now and then..

was just off to toddlers then discovered someone been in our garden last night stolen terry's bike and some cases of beer we had down side

maxy just gone to get my cheque book out and its in my maiden name grrr! will go to bank this morning and get cheque.

have a good day everyone its really warm and sunny here!

maxybrown · 20/05/2010 09:17

Hyper is good anyway Basl

Would love to have a party one day.And renew our vows. It was very very low key - his parents dashed off afterwards weird. Mind you, I always said i would never get married and never had children so there you go, never say never eh? My Mum and Dad had fab party just before James was born for their 40th wedding anniversary - they looked lovely togther still - a lot to live up to are my parents!!! I mean that in the nicest way, they just adore each other, sweet.

basl · 20/05/2010 09:36

Oh no Nicola thats terrible, cheeky sods. I bet they thought Bingo with that little lot. Will you be covered by insurance. What yourself now today if your feeling those sharp pains.

Maxy your Parents sound amazing and yes nice to hear that.

Flyme meant to say i do love the film too but i know they have made alot of the story to suit the public. When i was walking about the castle i kept imagining that music they play during the film and it does interest me very much. Would bring a tear to even a glass eye. We visited another castle where Mary Queen of Scots was prisoner and i had to leave it gave me the most horrid feeling. Honestly i was like that bloke Derick Pakora or whatever from Most Haunted but i had to wait on the boat coming back. My sister joined Historic Scotland for her Chilminding and i get free entry. Really like all that kind of stuff.

carrielou2007 · 20/05/2010 09:37

Morning

Loved the wedding story basl I'm still chuckling away

Nicola some people are really the lowest of the low hope you are feeling a wee bit better though that will set you back.

Maxy sorry about the liner, I didn't manage to get back on yesterday as dd had upset tummy the other end - oh joy at least not at the same time as the sick!! I've ordered one from JL though they say out of stock so not sure if it will turn up or not

Bit cloudy here today but warm. Having a goo scrub of my house today, just 'vanished' the carpet again but I just need to buy a new one really, this one's had it. Then when dd drops her blackcurrent squash on it, is sick on it and her brother will no doubt do the same...

maxybrown · 20/05/2010 09:43

Oh no Nic!! Sorry crossed posts going on. no worries with cheque - do whatever is easiest for you, if you want me to wait for PP I will

basl · 20/05/2010 09:48

I am going to shut up now and let other people get a chance to speak Have a nice day everyone and Carrie you can't go scrubbing a carpet if it is a lovley day. Scortcher here again.

FlyMeToDunoon · 20/05/2010 09:59

Basl you are so wonderful. I love the stories. We will need to have a large supply of Cava when we meet up.

I'm dundundun! packing today woohoo. All DDs out of the house so peace for a couple of hours. I may have to break regularly to sit in the garden with tea though. So lovely today here.

nicolamumof3 · 20/05/2010 11:30

Terry rang police because we live in town there might be cctv so they are going to check. it just makes me sick that someone has been in my garden what if my door had been unlocked from garden would they have come in? And rifling through all our stuff. horrible.

right off to do more washing! and tidying.

5inthebed · 20/05/2010 15:22

Hiya everyone, just a quick note to say I'm computerless while mine getsm fixed. Speak soon x

BexieID · 20/05/2010 16:17

nicola, sorry to hear about your garden 'raid'. Some people are ar$$eholes. We had a guy come into the close and stole the buggy clips from my MB last year (one of the neighbours caught him with other stuff too) and another person tried taking Toms picnic table . Thats why I lock up my buggys in shed and chain the one i'm currently using to fence with a long bike lock!

Can't remember if I said that my SIL next door had her flat broken into whilst we were away at my mums? Stole jewellery, clothes, handbags, bedding... Luckily her 2 cats were ok. I've had 2 cars broken into and apartment in Feutreventura (stole my cameras , so I know exactly how you feel.

basl · 20/05/2010 16:57
