Bugaboo Cam Vs Icandy Apple

Can anyone help with comparisons of these please? and also help with the following.

Does either fold with the seat on?

Can you used the carrycots for longterm overnight sleeping?

Price wise how do they match up, can't see a price for the apple anywhere?

Folding
Cameleon does not fold with the seat on either way. Not sure about the icandy.

Pushing
Bugaboo is lovely to push either way, even with a large heavy toddler in it, can still be steered and go up and down kerbs with one hand. Havent tried an apple, but have used a pear with single seat and found it horrible to push after the bug, and very very heavy.

Carrycot
Hardbodied for icandy, takes up loads of room to store. Doesnt say if its safe for overnight. 84cm long.
Bugaboo - Soft body with rigid base, and can be used for overnight as it has the aerosleep mattress. 90cm long

Weight
Icandy - 12.9kg with the seat on, 15.7kg with carrycot.
Bugaboo, 9.28 with seat, About the same with carrycot.

Seat
Bugaboo - 3 position recline forward and rear. seat 90cm long.
3 position forward and rear, 89cm long.

Both have a 2 year warranty, personally I feel bugaboo is a lot better made, and the covers etc are a lot easier to get off and wash. Also, the hood on the bugaboo comes off totally, which is a big plus as you can replace if it looks worn and get a brand new looking pushchair. Both brands hold their value really well.

Aha, well I say the opposite Have an Apple (have only played about with a Cam) so can't really comment on that.

The Apple folds with the seat attached doesn't matter which way the seat is facing. It's a dream to push, feels solid and substantial but turns on a penny and glides along. Whatever attachment you have on it, car seat, seat unit or carrycot is nice and high up (the Cameleon has the baby down by your kneecaps).

The carrycot that I have can be collapsed. I haven't done it but it can be done. I don't know if they have changed the design... Is safe for overnight use.

The Bugaboo seems flimsy to me, the Apple looks like it will stand a lot of wear and tear (it does, DD is 2.3yo now)

The hood does come off completely and it can be changed although tbh, I prefer the more classy look of the black rather than the gaudy multi coloured Cam (ok, I'm stirring a bit now but I do prefer the black/silver combo). If you don't there are coloured add ons but it's not as customisable as the Cam.

I looked at both and the Apple ticked more boxes with me. Much as I would like a Cam for a little while, I would not have swapped the Apple for it. Given my time again I would still go for the Apple.

When I bought my Apple it was £499 including the carrycot so allowing for a couple of years' increase... The Apple is definitely the classier option . Think Joanna Lumley vs Jordan

As I said, I only tried the pear not the apple and its not the same. Horses for courses though. I love the bright colours on the cam, black is so BORING LOL (stir stir )
You can customise either one to be honest, poshbugs and snunkie do liners and footmuffs.
I will say, the raincover on the icandy is better as the bugaboo one is a PITA and takes up loads of space, but the icandy footmuff is teeny compared to the bugaboo one which will still fit a larger toddler.

I have to say at the moment it is the bright colours that are luring me towards the cam faddle, but DH really likes the look of the Union Jack apple thats coming out soon.

I'm trying to remember when DD grew out of the footmuff... I think I tried to put her in it around Oct when it got colder. She would have been 21 months and her toes were right up against the zip so yes it's quite small (although very cosy).

Poshbugs will do you a customised seat cover footmuff and hood set for a cameleon either in union jack or in st georges cross.

I am going to have to look at Poshbugs faddle, do they do Paul Frank as well?

Can you use it right up until DC doesn't need a pushchair, if we do shell out then I know DH will be dead against buying an umbrella type without selling the Cam.
Which would mean me resorting to the knackered old Maclaren in the Cellar.

I'm still using mine for DD who is 4 in july. she still fits, and it still steers with one hand. She is about average height and weight.
I'm downsizing to the new bee plus shortly though as we hardly use it but yet it takes up a lot of space in the boot just in case......

Uh, I never had an umbrella pushchair as well, however, I drive a mini and when DD was 2, I bought a quinny zapp as it fits in the boot of my car really well (however, I only have used it twice so a complete waste of time) at least the maxi cosi car seat fits on both chasis (using different clips)

I have the Bugaboo and love it. I had a bit of trouble putting it up to start with but once I got the hang of it have never looked back. It looks nice and it's so comfortable. I have tried DS (18 months) in the recently purchased Quinny Zapp and he refuses to go in it, he's never done that with the Bugaboo. It still looks new too a year and a half later.

i have had both the icandy and bugaboo and have to say the quality of the bugaboo is much better than the icandy. my fold bit on the icandy handle broke not long after i had it. i did love it as i converted it to a pear for my twins but wouldnt have bought it over a bugaboo (i keep hoping they will make a double bugaboo). the bugaboo feels lighter and easier to push, the fabrics are better quality but the basket is smaller. another great thing with the bugaboo was that i could take the wheels off and fit it in tiny spaces between the seats when i had a boot full of shopping. there is a knack to folding it but when you have it sorted its really quick and easy. there are some great bargains on e-bay i have seen them as low as £150 for a cameleon so you could buy one and sell it back on for a profit if you hate it. i would be wary of buying a secondhand apple. i had the frog for my first child and a gecko and cam for my second.

oh and the zips break really easily on the icandy seat fabrics, i had to replace them as well.

Why buy the apple when there is the Peach? Peach has a lighter chassis, the carrycot can be used overnight and it looks pretty smart with the shiny crome. I've been using mine since feb and have no fault with the build quality. Admitedly, not used the oushchair attachment yet, but the carrycot isreally comfortable and i'm really glad i picked this over he bugaboo. You get no drafts with the icandy, but the bugaboo does around where the hood meets the carrycot.
