Ages to go yet but am totally flumoxed by prams!

Sure they weren't this complicated last time!

Pram has to be suitable for...

in and out of car regularly (Probably a fiesta or Yaris)

cobbled streets and tiny shops

steps in & out of house/garden

will be having a c-section

No idea where to start, any suggestions?

if its mostly cobbled streets, you will need air tyres, if its just the odd one, I would go for the bugaboo bee....... they are super light, super small folded, and a dream to push. I could spin 360 degrees with one hand, without moving anything except my arm. It literally turns on a sixpence. And that was with a hefty toddler in it.

Main street & cut throughs are cobbled but walk there everyday on school run so will need the air tyres!

hmm. If you dont mind the two piece fold, bugaboo cameleon/frog are fab, but you will prob. end up taking the back wheels off too to make it fold down really small for the boot. Quinny buzz fold down ultra small, but no way would they cope with cobbles. Baby jogger city elite/city select look fab, but not sure how small they fold.

We got a Maclaren XLR without the add-ons, but I believe there's also a carseat (perhaps a carrycot too?), which I have just sold on Gumtree in good condition and bought a triumph DD18 months. It was a lovely alternative and folds small for public transport. I carried my DD in a babasling and then a baby bjorn until about 10 months. Prams are a big waste of money/marketing ploy. Having said that, I felt at freinds' prams. Esp the bugaboo. As we have a smallish flat and another dd, we didn't have the space anyway. I loved having my baby so close all the time and we walked miles, she slept, I got fit and I didn't need loads of blankets etc. Was BFing tho so didn't need to carry bottles. Would reccommend to everyone...

Great in smaller car (corsa), light, narrow, models suitable from birth.

I had a separate car carrier which I kept in the car or carried the baby in and had the maclaren in the boot (techno classic). I believe you can get them with carriers now?

Mountain buggy seems to fit the bill best so far but ouch at the price , these are the first I looked at are they all £500 ish?

Don't think you could get an MB in a yaris without taking the wheels off and even then maybe not? V.heavy to lift in and out although easy to fold. Ideal for your other criteria. 2nd hand one would still be fab, they are built to last, there have been a couple on here lately.
Baby joggers fold differently so may fit better for you. Mountain buggies very long when folded.

Ah heavy will be no good. 6 steps in and out of the house & 8 to garden.

Going to have to go and look at them in the shop.

I'd think about a nipper 360, they're only 7 kg (MB is 10!) although I'm not sure how they fold. The baby jogger city is 9.5 but it might fold small enough to put in boot of fiesta/yaris. Just because it folds in half (and v.v.quick to fold up so easy to switch between cars etc).

Just don't buy a Quinny Buzz - no shopping basket, nightmare to get round the shops, PITA to push (IMO)

If its lightweight you need, its bugaboo all the way. Does fold down V small and the wheels pop off dead easy. Maclaren dont have air tyres so I can imagine would be a nightmare to push on cobbles for any distance, and V uncomfy for baby.
Britax Bsmart are V nice but again, not air tyres.

My frog went in boot of yaris fine actually. But in two pieces so not as quick and easy to fold as 3 wheeler. Have u checked width of doorway/ gate as that may rule out some?
