Hi there!

So what pushchair would any of you get for a newborn now. My bil and sil are expecting and asked me to recommend. I found it hard to say because it is so long since I was in that position. In fact last time I got a P&T for practical reasons. The time before used the old m&p I'd had for DD1.
So I recomended an M&P mpx ultima as thet want a traditional lay flat carrycot type pram that the baby could also sleep in. They aren't bothered about buying new either and those go cheaply secondhand.
What would you say?

I'd say a Skate.

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2010 13:40

if i was expecting now the ones i like are all m&p i think in this order...

skate
herbie
sola

i like m&p for the fabrics and colours mostly. the skate looks so cosy for a newborn. i like the fudge.

maxybrown · 23/01/2010 13:41

I'd get a SC sleepover classic again personally. I had the M&P before that.

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2010 13:45

SC fabrics need updating tho i think. i liked the 3d in tokyo denim but they stopped that i think?

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/01/2010 13:46

Have you looked at the reviews on here lately? The sections seem all mixed up to me. 'From birth' has mostly stroller type pushchairs.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 23/01/2010 13:52

I quite like some of the SC colours, for a pram, but I know what you mean. I have had a few diff fabrics lol! I have the quest up in my kitchen for first time, don't like it at all, which I am glad about! Padded seat is nice though!

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/01/2010 13:52

I think there is a job there for one of us! to sort out those sections. Travel systems includes the bugaboo cam, vigour 3 and urban detour which yes can take car seat but not my first thought.

FlyMeToDunoon · 23/01/2010 13:55

I wouldn't have the classic because of no swivel wheels. That was annoying on my M&P. Would have the linear chassis.

go for it dunoon!

good job you don't like it maxy if you are selling it. i think it is the perfect lightweight stroller. love quests so much i may sell xlr and keep quest as main stroller. I do like the tilting hood tho for summer...mmmh decisions. i'd like to get down to one pushchair after the summer really.

maxybrown · 23/01/2010 13:58

I had both dunoon but I loved the classic. It is also higher up than the M&P and bigger carrycot/seat unit.

maxybrown · 23/01/2010 16:56

Well it's gone! Hooray! There isn't enough difference between quest and Triumph for my liking, seat is better obviously! But I am with 5in and the small wheels I just like a big pushchair, they see so titchy!
Tilting hood is good though on XLR...

Is Maclaren about? Does anyone know if she sold her baby jogger?

Divatheshopaholic · 23/01/2010 17:12

Just back from koeran restaurant/shop. Dh and dd wanted to go for meal.
Maxy, catch up on chat later. Are we still up for meet up?

carrielou2007 · 23/01/2010 17:20

Afternoon all.My boy still has no name!!!

I love my apples quest (both of them )

FMTD I would say a bug cam and bug bee for newborn for you in laws. Silver cross seem to go for less than M and P on ebay.

Whoever was after a little bag I bought abright pink bag just for this but can't doit with a boy, it was 4.99 on ebay (have a look under my ebay name the same feedback for pic of it) you could buy mine or similar, smalle han bagabottle??

lillypie · 23/01/2010 18:08

Hi carrie how are you feeling?Does dd love being a big sister?Hope you are looking after yourself

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2010 18:08

carrielou have you got short list of names?

5inthebed · 23/01/2010 18:36

Hiya Carrie, can't believe you haven't named your DS yet . How is your DD enjoying being a big sister?

Took quest out today to town and it definitely isn't an everyday pram. Hate hate hate the small wheels. It'll do for the boot for the school run though.

Re prams for newborns, I'd get a Skate. Fab prams.

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2010 18:41

well im thinking of selling xlr.

X-post sorry but does anyone know if the Britax baby car seat fits on the Britax strider?

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2010 18:54

its on ebay will take piccies after i've bathed boys. they are just watching end of dvd. we had a lovely time swimming today. Tate swam by himself...under water! i remember tom started swimming under water before he swam on top. must be easier.

maxybrown · 23/01/2010 18:57

nicolamumof3 · 23/01/2010 19:00

maxybrown · 23/01/2010 19:02
