we are off to look at school for Tate this morning, yesterday it was Tom today Tate it will be a busy september!

FlyMeToDunoon · 02/10/2009 09:39

We looked at Hillview last night Nicola.
Well out of the catchment but might try the performing arts route in.

nicolamumof3 · 02/10/2009 11:21

I went to Hillview,

its a minefield eh? we just went to Sussex Road where tom goes now nice to see it through eyes of a reception kid tho than a year six parent. It will be either there or Slade for Tate.

FlyMeToDunoon · 02/10/2009 11:38

Yes it is.
Did you like Hillview? Girls seemed very contented, as far as it is possible to tell from these orchestrated open evenings.
Visiting Uplands next week.
At least Primary for DDs seems fairly cut and dried.
Did Tom do the 11+?
DD1 is not good at maths so she didn't and we are quite happy about that.

nicolamumof3 · 02/10/2009 11:44

no Tom didn't he's not very 'academic' but has improved so much with his maths the last year or so im so pleased. He's never been 11+material Will most probably go to Hayesbrook tho was v.impressed with facilities at Hugh Christie.

FlyMeToDunoon · 02/10/2009 11:50

It's quite good fun touring schools. I liked the science rooms with all the activities. Hillview had a CSI scene set up.
Must go DP wants the computer.

Sal I'm 26 and a half weeks though will prob have to have c section end of dec.

Just back from test driving cars - does anyone have a zafira?? 6 months ago I had a fab BMW but changed to a small hot hatch when I went part time and now I need a sensible mummy car but with a big boot.

Tried a Mazda 5 (yuk yuk yuk) and had tried a VW Touran before but too much like a big box on wheels. Looking for cheap and cheerful so can't really keep being as fussy as I normally am . Don't really want a people carrier or estate or 4 x 4 so not really sure what I want!!

scattykatty · 02/10/2009 13:20

Nicola what about these instead of the cons, look lovely

nicolamumof3 · 02/10/2009 13:22

they are nice i bought some startrite leather boots they are gorgeous wanted to order tate the same bit miffed that they only go up to a 8.5 so no good for Tate.

scattykatty · 02/10/2009 13:24

I've set my heart on these

maxybrown · 02/10/2009 13:29

ooh yes scatty I saw those before, love love love them! Too narrow for DS though.

scattykatty · 02/10/2009 13:30

At the moment though becuase the weather is nice some days and terrible the next he has his winter and summer shoes out.... 2 pairs of crocs, 1 pair of tumbles, 1 pair of doodles, 1 pair of proper Clarks shoes, 1 pair of Clarks leather sandals and 1 pair of German leather boots. It's crazy! I want to put half of them away but then its too hot for leather shoes half the time

Oh DS hasn't seen sandals or doodles for a while now up North! Tis either converse/kickers at min!

scattykatty · 02/10/2009 13:40

Well DS wore his Doodles to crafty tots this morning, it was sunny and he refused to have anything else on! I think I'll put the crocs and snadals away now, and the tumbles. Just keep the doodles for really nice days.

He still wears shorts sometimes, the weather is odd down here, not one way or the other

maxybrown · 02/10/2009 13:43

I put DS in shorts very easily, and me for that matter as I am always hot, but even I think it is chilly today. It's chucking it down here, that misty blowy cold rain that makes you very wet!

scattykatty · 02/10/2009 13:52

It's sunny but freeeeeezing down here. Planning my trip to Reading tomorrow. DH has promised we can get 2 new pairs of curtains from JL for our bedroom, currently army horror (think moth holes, don't meet in the middle)

Halloween outfit for DS, maybe some Christmas presents for DS..... If DH is being nice ;)

carrielou2007 · 02/10/2009 14:07

Chilly though nice and sunny here, dd has a vest on for the first time since about april.

BexieID · 02/10/2009 14:22

I'm 28 weeks today. Just had midwife appt and got my health in pregnancy form to fill out and send off. Better do that as found my FW8 the other week that I still hadn't handed in to GPs, lol. Did so today, was a bit dog eared but nether mind .

Not sure whether to goto work tonight. Did tell them weeks ago I wudn't be in as was supposed to have glucose test this morning, but had that last week. I would feel bad if I don't go. as don't really need it off, though I may just see how I feel once i've picked Tom up from nursery/driven to PIL!

Scatty, do you live near Reading? I'm from Wokingham.

scattykatty · 02/10/2009 15:01

I used to live really close, now I live nr Swindon (Hell) and Reading has the closest John Lewis

nicolamumof3 · 02/10/2009 15:25

they are lovely i do like nice traditional shoes.

I try to keep the boys to two pairs of shoes plus trainers & wellies otherwise run out of room here!!

sweetkitty · 02/10/2009 15:26
