Hi guys. Thanks for all comments on liner. It was quite easy to make and now I've had a go I will hopefully find the next one easier. I have no idea how it will wear though. As I say I was on a steep learning curve with the button-holing for the strap slots. would like to wash it a few times before I'm satisfied they are strong and will take wear.
The strap arrangement on the 2008 XT means that when you want to slot the shoulder straps through you need to remove them from the frame and then put back through which is a bit of a pain.
I am soooo hacked off because I had two comfort packs on ebay. The pink one sold for £3.60 or so and the black for 99p! crap!!!. Especially annoying since I had the offer of £5 for the balck one and turned it down.
Hope you are sorted Claret

Its crap when that happens on ebay Dunoon. In our big clearout we had an item worth £200 and it sold for 99p i am proud to say i posted it but the buggers didnt even leave feedback!!!

buggylovinmummy · 16/08/2009 21:33

No prob its finished now anyway.

FlyMeToDunoon · 16/08/2009 21:35

The buyer has sent a request for total payment including 1st class post- I had specified 2nd class recorded and given an address they want it sent to. I have pointed out that I only send to the address supplied by paypal.
Grrr
Wrong county here too.

FlyMeToDunoon · 17/08/2009 08:18

Morning all.
DP back at work and when I try and think of a different activity for us to do today to keep the DDs employed my mind goes blank.

JigglyPiggy · 17/08/2009 09:07

Morning

How old are they Dunoon? DH will be off to work on a late shift and the weather is not looking great so I am not looking forward to being stuck in with a demanding 4yo! Luckily I have a very contented baby.

Did you sort your ebay buyer?

FlyMeToDunoon · 17/08/2009 09:28

No word from ebay buyer.
Weather grey here but meant to brighten up.

horsemadgal · 17/08/2009 09:50

reallywoundup · 17/08/2009 11:46

hello ladies- i am trying to pimp up my navy frog, need some opinions, i shall be making a hood, seat cover/piddle pad, footmuff and bag (i'm ok on the sewing machine ) but would this look too twee for words?

JigglyPiggy · 17/08/2009 11:53

i like it as long as its for a girl

would you update with how to's and pictures?! i want to have a go at my own hoods but not brave enough yet so i love seeing everyone elses projects to spur me on!

onelittlelion · 17/08/2009 11:54

I think it's sweet Would you do navy binding?

reallywoundup · 17/08/2009 12:00

i'm torn at the moment- using the pink strawberry fabric with maybe a navy fleece inner and navy binding OR going with the duck egg strawberry fabric and line it all with baby pink fleece tbh it will only be the back of the seat unit and the shopping basket showing in navy so tempted to go with the pink CK with pink fleece lining will update with pics and instructions as i go- once finished i can copy a pattern for anyone who requires it! I've made a few hoods but the seat cover etc will be off the cuff

JigglyPiggy · 17/08/2009 12:03

OMG if you have a hood pattern you are willing to share I would be so as ive been thinking off unpicking mine but wary in case i ruin it!

horsemadgal · 17/08/2009 12:14

onelittlelion, yes he ran in. Hope that contiinues!!

reallywoundup, I love that fabric but I like plain hoods so if it was me I'd do plain outer with that as lining. You could do a reversible footmuff to match, so plain one side and patterned the other. I'd do bag plain with that as trim, or a mix IYKWIM.

reallywoundup · 17/08/2009 12:32

ooh- a reversible hood as well- there's a thought! I'm a CK girl at heart- love the patterns and want something 'unique' as i plan on keeping the bug now- but need something to liven it up as the school run mums would think there was something seriously wrong if i arrived with a plain hood (then again they wouldn't know Cath Kidston if it hit em in the face ) I was just going to make a tiny messenger type bag to hold keys, purse and phone but attach to the handlebar- anything else can get flung in the basket!

Jiggly- no problem- i plan on making a haloween hood later this week in preparation i'll copy a pattern out for you then (it will be on wrapping paper!) i'll let you know when i've done it and i can send it over- the hood is really simple, i unpicked my navy hood to make it so it is exactly the same dimensions as the bug one- but it is for a frog so don't think it would fit anything else as the cam ones are a tad bigger iirc! (you need 1m of outer fabric and the same of an inner fabric- attempt it first with something cheap -calico is good as can be dyed a funky colour if you pull it off ok- or can be unstitched without ruining the fabric should it all goes a bit pete tong or fleece is easy as it doesn't snag BUT can't be ironed easily so doing the fiddly inner work can be a bit of a pain if you are just starting out)

I am decided- ordered the CK pink strawberry fabric, baby pink fleece for the lining and pink binding. Will attempt to make everything reversible so that dh has a 'plain' option should he deign to take his daughter out for a walk

mmm strawberry bug!!!

JigglyPiggy · 17/08/2009 12:46

If you can CAT me with your details I can send you something by paypal to cover postage, materials, your time etc just name a price

What you planning on doing for halloween? I promise im not going to steal all your ideas! I really want to do a yellow hood to go on my black frog so I'm going to search the net for fabrics

I love the bags that hang from the handlebars, I have a poshbugs one and its great to have everything to hand especially as i am using the carrycot for DS which makes basket access tricky.
