ooh- a reversible hood as well- there's a thought! I'm a CK girl at heart- love the patterns and want something 'unique' as i plan on keeping the bug now- but need something to liven it up as the school run mums would think there was something seriously wrong if i arrived with a plain hood (then again they wouldn't know Cath Kidston if it hit em in the face ) I was just going to make a tiny messenger type bag to hold keys, purse and phone but attach to the handlebar- anything else can get flung in the basket!
Jiggly- no problem- i plan on making a haloween hood later this week in preparation i'll copy a pattern out for you then (it will be on wrapping paper!) i'll let you know when i've done it and i can send it over- the hood is really simple, i unpicked my navy hood to make it so it is exactly the same dimensions as the bug one- but it is for a frog so don't think it would fit anything else as the cam ones are a tad bigger iirc! (you need 1m of outer fabric and the same of an inner fabric- attempt it first with something cheap -calico is good as can be dyed a funky colour if you pull it off ok- or can be unstitched without ruining the fabric should it all goes a bit pete tong or fleece is easy as it doesn't snag BUT can't be ironed easily so doing the fiddly inner work can be a bit of a pain if you are just starting out)
I am decided- ordered the CK pink strawberry fabric, baby pink fleece for the lining and pink binding. Will attempt to make everything reversible so that dh has a 'plain' option should he deign to take his daughter out for a walk
mmm strawberry bug!!!
