Evening all

Happy Birthday SK!! 25 seems a looooong time ago for me

I just stay here, I do fancy diff sites sometimes but I'm a bit stuck in my ways and tend to stay in one place. I often wonder how other posters get quite so many prams rather than just risking ebay!! I have my bug and pliko and xt (and volo which is going to be sold soon) so I'm sorted out really!!

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/08/2009 21:26

I bet if I went onto another site I would be tempted into buying something!
Best stay here then.

AvadaKedavra · 19/08/2009 08:05

lol FMTD

sal1309 · 19/08/2009 10:07

good morning all

i only really go on here as i would be far too tempted lol. I need to get rid of some not buy more lol.

Well im having a quiet morning as dd in nursery. Going to take the dogs out then try and tidy up although my back is killing so struggling to bend down to pick dd's toys up that are dotted all over the show lol

Its really quiet on here at the mo where is everyone?

mustsleep · 19/08/2009 10:09

I'm here

just been doing all the laundry in the bath as it looks like my washer is completely dead now i had better be sunny later on to dry it all

FlyMeToDunoon · 19/08/2009 10:10

I know Sal. It's the summer holidays but has everyone defected to pramaddicts or whatever it's called?
Friend of mine has a big plastic garden rake to gather up the toys without bending. I don't know what you do with the big pile of them after that though- trapdoor in the floor?

FlyMeToDunoon · 19/08/2009 10:11

Hurrah for mustsleep!
Bugger about the washing machine though. Will you be able to get a new one soon?

mustsleep · 19/08/2009 10:26

lol no we are skint as Dh's wage has halved so we don't even have enough to buy food next week

I have ds2's and dd's birthdays next month and my mum and dads and then it's ds1's in Nov aaarrrrrggggghhhhh lol oh well I'm sure something will work out

FlyMeToDunoon · 19/08/2009 10:31

Well it's good to see you are still smiling!
I used to get stuff like that from Freemans and pay it up but have recently given up on them.
Gave up my extended warranty too to save money so if it goes kaput I don't know what we would do either.
My DDs 2and 3 and DP have their birthdays in Sept........I blame New Year

FlyMeToDunoon · 19/08/2009 10:34

off to pack ebay stuff to take to post office.
What about freecycle for a washing machine?

mustsleep · 19/08/2009 10:36

lol tell me about it!! New year is banned in this house now

well like I said to dh there's no point in worrying about stuff you can't do anything about lol

I would normally get one on credit but we've just done a debt management plan so can't get credit anymore lol

am having a look on freecycle to see if there's anything but we can;t drive so would have to be some lovely person wo wanted to give us a washer/dryer preferably and deliver it for free too! lol...I don't want much me

sal1309 · 19/08/2009 10:44

lol at the rake, although maybe if i brush them all up i could just brush them into the corner lol.

mustsleep glad to see your still smiling. we have got alot to pay for comming up and we would of been semi ok if we hadnt of had to move. its cost us a fortune. Got dd's birthday next month, car mot and we have got a holiday book (just a cheapo sun one but still got to find spending money).

Still i have to enjoy this hol as it will probably be our last one for a few years with another lo on the way.

Right cant find dog leads dh has hid them so going to go and sort the kitchen out instead.

mumofdjandbabies · 19/08/2009 10:52

sometimes wahsing machines come up on freecycle round here my friend got one xx

OP posts:
mustsleep · 19/08/2009 10:53

tell me about it sal, we've booked a holiday for next year and so far we've only paid the deposit! Luckily it's all inclusive so even if we only manage to scrape enough together to pay for the hol we could get away with minimal spend

We have only been on holiday once as a family and that was the year before last, I just don't understand ho other people afford it lol!

sal1309 · 19/08/2009 10:58

i must admit we have been lucky this year as this will be our 3rd holiday, but we hadnt really been on holiday before that in about 6 years.

We went to disney in march but the parents paid for us to go between them as a treat as it was a cheapy. Then we went to spain in may but we had paid it off over 12 months, then this one in september but it is a £9.50 sun deal lol. We will just have to make sure we raid our cupboards before we go so we dont buy food ect while we are there.

I know what you mean though i dont know how people afford it. I know this will be our last for a few years unless we can get our finances sorted but cant see that happening soon

Why do we need money lol

mustsleep · 19/08/2009 11:08

Well I'll be buying a lottery ticket tonight and keeping everything crossed lol

One of my friends recently found out she getting made redundant and said she was really worried that they might not get a holiday next year and I said oh well never mind I know it;s shit but we haven't been for two years now at all (they normally go twice a year and have loads of cash so they do loads of days out etc)
she said to me "yeah well your kids are used to no having a holiday it will be terrible for my kids cos they are used to going!!".....speechless

JigglyPiggy · 19/08/2009 11:18

morning all

hoping to get some tyre slime today so we can get down the beach as the weather is lovely at the moment.

I have decked the frog in black and white which i was dying to do but i think i prefer the red

we only do the sun hols here, not sure how its going to work in future as DD starts school in a couple of weeks.

mustsleep - we have a large charity shop in town (think its British Heart Foundation) and they sell furniture and electrical appliances so that might be something to look out for near you as they may even deliver a washing machine for you?

AvadaKedavra · 19/08/2009 13:22

black and white frog sounds lovely, got any piccies JP?

Mustsleep - if you put a wanted on freecycle and specifically say you have no transport, then I am sure you'd eventually get someone replying

Think I am rapidly falling out of love with my Zapp, it really feels unstable with the carseat on top of it slightest pressure from me on handles and it's tipping back, is it the same with it in pushchair mode too?

FlyMeToDunoon · 19/08/2009 13:26

Oh yes we have a British Heart foundation here too. Forgot about them.
We aren't having a holiday this year. DP and DD1 are going to his brother's wedding but the rest of us can't afford to go.
I really think we need to start putting away a tiny amount each week to save up for one next year.
I am selling stuff on ebay to try and clear the overdraft.
Hopefully get a pt christmas job too.
Just spent nearly £30 in town on bits and bobs we needed.

sal1309 · 19/08/2009 13:34

mustsleepi cant believe your friend said that i sometimes think some people are used to havint too much money.

fmtd thats what i need to do sell some stuff to clear the overdraft but internet is too slow to list at the mowith me using the dongle

5inthebed · 19/08/2009 14:27

Hello everyone! What a long three days I've had without my laptop! Still, back to normal now it is back

Got the double P&T today and already took it out for a test drive. Does anyone know where I can buy hood rods for it from?

Anyone heard from Maclaren.

Mustsleep, how rude of your friend. We had out first holiday in four years at the end of July! Wonder what she woul make of that.

Nicola says hiya everyone, she is having a great time on her honeymoon, getting very tanned. Missing her boys though.

mumofdjandbabies · 19/08/2009 14:41

sometimes our internet goes on a go slow and it frustrates me to death so I feel your pain!!

OP posts:
scattykatty · 19/08/2009 15:22

So 5in does that mean you won't be getting the same Vaio as me!?

I got one of those little Sony photo printers for my birthday too this and have been testing it out, DH keeps telling me to stop cos apparently the ink and paper are really expensive ooops

Going up to IL's tomorrow instead of today as MIL might have Swine Flu and we're waiting so see if she feels better. So I think if my stuff from Maclaren doesn't come in the morning I won't get it for another 3 weeks

carrielou2007 · 19/08/2009 16:33

Afternoon all.

Sal someone is after a black m and p footmuff if you still have yours??

I've always had 2 or more holidays a year as before having dd I always saved. I have not been able to save a penny since dd was born!! I went to Disney in Feb paid for by my sis as I seem to have given lent my sis quite a big amount to clear their debts then hubbie lost his job so some more. Keep saying I really need you to start paying it back as when I'm on maternity leave I have no money to pay the morgage but...

Done a sun holiday and have another one in sept, think that will be the way to go for the next few years with two little ones.
