I need a tandem with toddler on top facing me...not a BJCS.......

Does such a stroller exist?

While I'd prefer a side by side, I use public transport so a tandem is more practical. I really need the top seat to suit my toddler and the bottom seat will be for my smallest baby.

I know that newborns are supposed to see their parents etc but my two year old won't sit in a buggy for any length of time before she wants to change her seat direction to 'chat' to me. I currently have a second hand bugaboo cameleon and its the perfect buggy but I need to change to accommodate my baby. I've researched buggies until I can't think straight with the result that my baby is now five months and I still haven't bought one but now due to going somewhere I need to buy one fast.

Can anybody help please?

the oyster max can do this and many other combinations. not sure but the i candy range also have a tandem (peach i think) i didnt ever look that far into that as it was too expensive though. i am sure someone will be along soon with more options

What about something like this ?

JugglingChaotically · 06/04/2014 08:09

I used an Emma Junga pram with toddler seat on top.
Baby lies flat. Toddler loves it.
Then as baby grows you can use as double pushchair with baby in toddler seat.
Large wheels so very easy to push.
Narrow for shops.
Takes shopping underneath.
Didn't put in the the car though as long!

bluemagpie · 06/04/2014 08:10

Have you thought about something like the joove caboose? It's got a standing/bench seat for the older child.

bluemagpie · 06/04/2014 08:10

Oops that should be joovy caboose! Autocorrect fail!

zen1 · 06/04/2014 08:13

Or this ? Apparently the top seat is suitable for up to four year olds.

pebbles1234 · 06/04/2014 08:40

I'm pretty sure you can configure the I candy peach (blossom) like this.... The larger of the seats goes on top...I have the peach as a single and love love love it! It is expensive but so hard wearing and comfortable for little one, plus you can pick them up on eBay very reasonably.

looki · 06/04/2014 11:03

The o baby looks good but too long.

I should have added my toddler still sleeps in her buggy so the seat needs to be comfortable.

The blossom is v expensive and I'm not crazy about the shiny parts. But if the toddler can face me, it's worth considering.

It's so hard to find one. The oyster max looks good and is reasonable. The bottom seat looks so tight though?

The Emmaljunga is a side by side and I originally choose the stroll air my duo over it before realising it's probably too wide for a bus, shopping aisles etc

My Emma junga is a single with added toddler seat so a tandem.
Def not side by side as I knew I wouldn't be able to deal with one half tried a friends!

JugglingChaotically · 06/04/2014 12:31

Oops. Having tried a friends!

looki · 06/04/2014 13:33

The emmaijunga's toddler seat isn't suitable I'm afraid. I can't see my toddler sleeping in it.

I have an icandy peach double - the top seat will only face forwards, not towards you, which is no good if you want to see your toddler!

looki · 06/04/2014 14:26

Thank you needaninsight. For some reason I thought both seats were forward facing only. I think the new version (not sure if even released yet) might have diff combinations. From what I can read the oyster max seems like maybe the only one?

OP posts:
Artandco · 06/04/2014 14:30

The new icandy does parent face just not the old ones
Think it's the icandy peach blossom 3

Artandco · 06/04/2014 14:33

Oh I just saw your child is two. Are you sure she doesn't like pram as she's just too old? Our two year old wouldn't go in a pram now days.

What about the uppababy vista with either toddler seat or board? And get her used to walking/ on board and napping at home

Artandco · 06/04/2014 14:33

Meant to say not sure if she would still fit in the icandy at 2. As my 2 year old is way to long now for the bugaboo cameleon

looki · 06/04/2014 20:17

Yeah the iCandy seats are quite small. We walk a lot so need a comfortable seat for her. She is tall but fits comfortably in the cam. She loves it!! She is too tall for the MB Duet which I like. The out and about is large for public transport.

Anyway using a stroll air my duo.

Is the oyster max better than the Phil and Teds which I hate.

Double buggy shopping is so hard!!

Ps that should have read 'is anyone using.....a stroll air my duo'?

britax b-dual?

Wiggy29 · 06/04/2014 20:31

City select? Converts to single when your eldest doesn't want it. I got mine reasonable from eBay and love it.

looki · 06/04/2014 20:33

The select is v v long though isn't it?

I've stopped three diff people who have one and they all said too heavy going up and down kerbs. As I use public transport I discounted it?

OP posts:
PotteringAlong · 06/04/2014 20:36

Could you just use your single for the toddler and sling the baby?

Wiggy29 · 06/04/2014 20:42

Select is long (ish) but not had any issues as good turning circle&no issues getting on/ off bus/ metro. Personally it hasn't been heavy. Though I have to admit I've been using it as a single so far.

looki · 06/04/2014 20:55

I'm worried it won't fit on a bus ie it will stick out too far in the aisle and prevent others from passing by?

It fits all other criteria though.

I'm currently using a sling but it's difficult to find somewhere to leave it down when also looking after a toddler .
