a new thread for all you pramohoilics, so whats new to come or whats already arrived Grin

OP posts:
FoofFighter · 26/03/2012 21:36

I don't want the Bubble til probably this time next year so I can wait, I've got my Ultima pram bit for the winter months :)

ahhh you've got a little pramwhore in the making (that sounds so wrong in this circumstance!)

are you not tempted to buy that mystery pushchair??

Honeydragon · 26/03/2012 22:15

I really like the look of it tbh, but I'd like something small and although I can't get the dimensions, I don't think it would fit in the umbrella hole in my cupboard, it might be too wide.

I don't really do umbrella folds so I'm not sure what I'm looking for Confused

FoofFighter · 26/03/2012 22:31

I would imagine it folds like a Zapp/Zia and dimensions would be roughly same. You could be a geek and PM seller to ask them to measure etc Grin

No I don't like them either but I really really want the Bubble for next summer :) iIam sure that there used to be a rear facing umbrella folder though about 15-20 years ago maybe?

Honeydragon · 26/03/2012 22:32

All the old Combis used to rear face, they had a flippy handle, as did Apricas, certainly the 1980's models did

Honeydragon · 26/03/2012 23:05

do you think the Mac globetrotter might be a good buy?

Tiggywunkle · 26/03/2012 23:27

Well done Honey in finding the pushchair :)
Awards a gold star :)

We measured the Bubble yesterday I think - well I think ihateparties did but my notebook is downstairs and at present I can't find my feet to move anywhere!! They hurty!!! But we got lots of photos of all sorts including the Bubble.
It was more of an umbrella fold than the Zia or Zapp TBH.

Fancy solving a problem?

I have just bought an Urban Detour from ebay to use whilst in Kenya over Easter. Once we solved the annoying front wheel issue I think I have possibly been converted to air tyres/3wheels. But... DS is 8mo and very tall. He is only about 3cm off the top of the seat. At his current rate of growth it'll last him til his birthday!

So when I get back from Kenya, I'm thinking I might get another 3 wheel air tyre pushchair. But what?

I tried him in my SiL's P&T Sport a few weeks ago and the back rest on that is enough to support him for years - my 5yo ds was still ok to lean his head back in it. But I know P&T are not liked by many of you.

So what else could I get that would have a tall enough back to last him til he's 3ish? Does the Baby Jogger Elite have a tall back? Or what's the other one they do? I looked at the Nipper 360 but (quite apart from the fact that it's pig ugly) the seat is barely higher that the UD.

Now I just have to work out what to sell to afford another buggy...

Honeydragon · 27/03/2012 15:03

Do the tyres have to be air filled?
The BJCM has a lovely high back and is good off road?

ItsMyLastOne · 27/03/2012 15:06

buttonmoon look at Mountain Buggys (swift, urban or terrain), Baby Jogger Summit, Classic, Elite, or an iCandy Peach Jogger! Wink

Do you realise children's torsos don't grow as much as their limbs from around a year old, so you may be surprised how long pushchairs last.

Honeydragon · 27/03/2012 15:37

Will my Poshbugs Bee footmuff fit the Cameleon? because I luffs it very much

buttonmoon78 · 28/03/2012 11:13

I think I want a Baby Jogger City Elite. Is it worth looking for a possible bargain or do you think the 2012 version is much better - ie worth paying the new price for? New they're only £20 difference in John Lewis, but you can pick up 2011 versions on ebay.

Any thoughts?

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 13:29

OMG OMG she's a pram hun ho too!

Dear Kirstie, are you a Mnetter ?
Yes, since 2008 I think - I am obessed by finding the right pram, no-one has got it completely right yet, but I think that Mamas & Papas 8 in 1 or whatever it's called is nearly there. Sadly I have no-one who needs a pram now but my sister's having a baby in the Summer so I will be able the scout the market, which has moved on since my little one was born.

Honeydragon · 28/03/2012 13:59

Grin there's a great tv programme, celebs and their pushchairs!

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 14:35

I have been here since 2008 and I have a Mamas and Papas 8 in 1 thing or whatever it's called... I'm not Kirstie though before you think that I am!

Honeydragon · 28/03/2012 16:28

I am not feeling so bad about swapping the Bee for a Cam now.
I was worried about resale value as Bee's go for nearly full price. Whereas Cams go for around £300.

Looking on ebay, nearly all the Bee plus's say hardly used or "new parts", whereas the Cams say used and are years old in some cases.

Reading between the lines I'd rather have something reliable I think. I don't want to cast aspirations but not everyone getting rid of all those Bees can be pram addicts, right?

FoofFighter · 28/03/2012 16:31

I don't think it's that Bees are bad and so must be sold on fast as much as that Cams are freaking fantastic!

Honeydragon · 28/03/2012 16:52

Are they really that good?

I loved my Bee, but I'd prefer it hassle free!

buttonmoon78 · 30/03/2012 13:44

Oh, now having seen a youtube review, I think the BJCM GT is possibly calling me more than the Elite. It has a taller back rest too.

Decisions decisions. So many pushchairs and so little money time Smile

Tiggywunkle · 30/03/2012 21:25

My only issue with the GT is for the tall seat back, the hood is quite low down. I dont think there really is that much difference between them except weight wise, except that I personally find the Elite back heavy. The GT is a bit but with a child in the seat that disappears. I dont know how soon you need another pushchair, nor your budget, but I think the Baby Jogger Versa and Easywalker June both have much more room for the children in the seats. Let me link you to some photos all with the same 3.5 year old in:
Easywalker June
Baby Jogger City Versa
Baby Jogger City Mini GT
I dont know if this set of photos helps at all to see the difference between the BJCM and BJCMGT?? There's a set of photos here of the BJCM next to the BJCE. If you can kind of cross reference them all, then it might help you?

Tiggywunkle · 30/03/2012 21:29

Honeydragon you seriously need a Versa or an Easywalker. I have to say having played with the Versa a lot its really easy to use. The June is meant to be intuiative but I couldn't work out how to change the seat around. But its just sooo dinky. I think either of them could be your hassle free Bee.

Honeydragon · 30/03/2012 22:19

Tiggy No! Grin

I am retiring from prams, unless I really hate it I'm keeping the Cam as my walking / UK holiday pushchair.

I need a lightweight umbrella fold or zappesque fold, with a recline and carry strap.

I am seriously considering the Mac Globetrotter Shock - but not at £110 and I can't find it cheaper Sad. Unless anyone knows of anything similar, nice to push at a bargain price?

ItsMyLastOne · 20/04/2012 14:17

Honeydragon is this the pushchair you were looking for?

Tiggywunkle · 20/04/2012 15:24
