I can't believe how much I enjoyed pushing the Jane. What a relief too, I thought it might be awful....never try a pram til you've pumped the tyres up properly!
I feel like such a hypocrite after looking down my nose at Janes with wheels like this /---\ ....infact I think mine does it but it doesn't seem to be a problem or mean anything bad. It's not affecting performance.
I'm wondering why the handbrake has been ommitted on the latest slalom pro models...looking at reviews the front brake was the most common problem area. Possibly because to work well it needs fine tuning. Preferably by someone with a little bicycle know how.
I guess they figured less customer complaints if it just wasn't there to go wrong in the first place. Personally I think its a great feature which is brilliant if you live somewhere hilly like my hometown up north! I'm glad to have got one that's essentially every bit as good as the latest slalom pro models except mine also has the handbrake and it cost less as was on sale.

Those new photographs of a Xari look fantastic...The toddler head height in the seat is the same as DD, so it must be by 2.5, the legs are longer in propertion to the body so it makes the Xari seat look too small...That toddler looks about 18 months old...Talking of the Xari, it's filled my office with the smell of new buggy Smile

I've got a Jo Jo fleece all in one...Hoping last years still fits, plus i have the next size up from a NCT sale though technically it's a boys as it's navy blue stripes...Also got a Jo Jo waterproof all in one but 2-3 years so it lasts, think it's about 6" too big!!! Haven't got anything heavy duty, just make sure there's a few layers underneath.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 11/11/2011 21:44

Gosh, my JoJo waterproof one was teeny but the fleece one is huge. I didn't like the pale blue other brand all in one I bought so we have switched to JoJo fleece jackets and trousers.
I got my Elite raincover today :) DH will have a flid when the real thing arrives.....lolol never mind the surprise on Tuesday :o But three pushchairs have left in the last two weeks. Only another....hmm...7 probably to go....

pramsgalore · 11/11/2011 22:18

suzie my dd looks fine in the xari, with still room to grow, i have to say, i am still loving my xari, can you tell Grin

Honeydragon · 11/11/2011 23:37

I have booked SenditNow to pick up the Aprica, so I'll have my new pushchair on Tuesday hopefully Grin

DS isn't keen, he doesn't want me to sell the Bee. I must admit it is handy as its very safe and easy for him to push.

suzie38 · 12/11/2011 00:11

Prams my DD looks huge in it...Looks like her bum is perched on a small ledge and i don't think she has particlary long legs...DH really doesn't like it...I've got 9 watchers on eBay at the moment, though some might be off here??? Though know it might take a while to sell...Hopefully my Bugaboos will sell quickly as obviously they're more sort after.

Last year i had to return the 9-12 month Jo Jo wetsuit and get 12-18 months though DD never wore it...Did a couple of months ago but it was too small so decided to buy 2-3 so it'll last a couple of years...Pastel fleece snowsuit is 12-18 months so hoping it will still fit as that's her clothes size...The blue one is 18-24 months.

OP posts:
pramsgalore · 12/11/2011 11:19

i know what you mean suzie, i have had to put my buggy snuggle back on, as the thicker ones take up too much seat depth, its not the deepest of seats, but for dd anyway she has enough room with the buggy snuggle. she not hanging by the crouch strap, so its good.
if it were my only pushchair i would invest in the mima footmuff, but it's not i rotate them and to be honest, with her thick coat on, shes lovely and warm, in the buggysnuggles, it's layers really that keep you warm, so when its truely cold i will be putting tights and fleecy trousers on her and i would not use my mima in the snow, i think the cam would be good, with the big wheels at the front in the snow, well thats what i am hoping Smile

pramsgalore · 12/11/2011 11:25

ooooo i wonder if my zigzag hood will turn up today for my cam, i will have to put my grey bugaboo footmuff on with it, unless my plum footmuff matches and fits Smile,
monkeyjuice, those jane footmuffs are really good, had to wash mine as it was dirty [had rubbed on the wheels on the joovy and its come up like new again, i thought i had ruined it, but no, its cream so not a great colour to keep clean, i have been shocked at how many footmuffs i own, i don't how i have managed to collect quite so many Blush

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 11:31

We have a delivery....looks out of the window.....hmmmm....yayyyyy hubby has just told DD to tell me it says Baby Jogger!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoooohooooooooo!!! DD is trying to open it. But importantly....DH hasn't twitched....he's just accepted it and gone back into his office!!! Result!!!!!!!! Phew! He did ask me last night how many pushchairs were arriving this week and I did say I thought four....
DD is now jumping up and down saying "it's a Baby Jogger, it's a Baby Jogger!!!"
And I caaaaaaannnnnnnttttttt go yet and look :( :( :(

pramsgalore · 12/11/2011 11:39

he will think its the bjcm4 not the elite Smile or is it the bjcm4 Hmm

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 11:40

Eeeeeekkkkk.....he's just twigged......he asked if it was the 4 wheel Elite.....he thought it was the City Mini.........and is quizzing me.......he's now counting up how many pushchairs we have....(he only got to 5 thank goodness)......and I have had the lecture.....lolololol.....it's because he knows I want to keep it!!! But he also says he's amused so it's not been a bad lecture lolol I knew the Elite would cause a reaction! He knows I like Baby Joggers ie they stay, and don't go easily!

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 11:41

It's nice to have a single Baby Jogger in the house again though :)

pramsgalore · 12/11/2011 11:44

lol, whats it like

Daisybell1 · 12/11/2011 11:52

Should I stick with the mini (bought it as my car/around town buggy)???

And what are the best foot muffs for them? LO looks very tiny in it at the moment so need something snuggly for her....

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 12:07

I don't know...but Hubby is about to go out....so I am hoping to sneak down and look (we have an upside down house).
Yes stick with the Mini, Daisy. Enjoy the Mini coz it's perfect for the car / town etc. The Elite is my mega indulgence as we hardly go off road, buts it's much more luxurious. My BIG.... arrgghhh...what's the word....I can't remember....issue (will do) is that I sold my 3 wheel City Mini for the 4 wheel one (that's taken forever to arrive but is apparently now coming on Monday) because I found the 3 wheeler tippy. So, I am not sure buying another 3 wheeler was quite sensible - except a) we no longer use the car seat and b) the City Mini is easy to turn on the spot quickly and I did have a tendency to whizz it round on the spot to see a child! The double Elite isn't as whizzy with the big front wheel and my 3 wheel Babyzen isn't tippy at all. I bought the Qtro for the four wheel stability but that's got shopping trolley wheels at the front. So although this probably makes no sense at all, in a round about way I am hoping as a 3 wheeler this will be fine. I bought it really for the extra luxuries. Anyway DH has gone with DD.....so I am going to play!!!!

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 12:09

Oh and Daisy, if you can, invest in a Bugaboo Cocoon. I went 'ouch' at the price but it was one of my best ever buys. My baby adored it and fell asleep instantly in it. He stayed in until ten months and he was big. It's dead easy to transfer between pushchairs and remove with the sleeping baby inside. It also uses the harness so the baby is strapped in.the top buttons back when it's warmer. Fab item :)

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 12:10
  • top buttons button back - my iPad has a mind of it's own today. DD has been on it this morning!
suzie38 · 12/11/2011 14:30

4 wheeled Elite???

OP posts:
pramsgalore · 12/11/2011 15:32

oh yes, a four wheel elite i would buy one, as long as they moved those back wheels in a bit say 7.5cm should do it Smile

Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 15:38

Nooooooo hubby knew we were getting a four wheeled Baby Jogger but it said Elite on the box. That's why I got rumbled coz he asked if it was the four wheeled Elite (not City Mini).

But, I am more confused than ever...
Hubby has been a star and indulged me taking photos and we took the Qtro and Elite out for a walk, and swapped the children round half way.
I am in shock because he's told me he prefers the Elite to the Babyzen (up to now his favourite) but neither of us can choose between the Qtro or Elite for different reasons!
The result - we need a BJCMGT to combine the positives of both!!!

Daisybell1 · 12/11/2011 16:14

Its ok, am happy with my mini...

..until you went and mentioned the GT - what's the GT???? Am normally addicted to cars, so its got me at the name!

suzie38 · 12/11/2011 16:18

It's basically a Mini but with an adjustable handle and air tyres so would suit me, as i like both, though it'd be better if it had 4 air tyres...Out next year i think.

OP posts:
Tiggywunkle · 12/11/2011 16:25

And a longer / bigger footrest, I think a taller back, more padded seats. Really the advantages of the Elite (apart from the liftable calf rest) but with four forever air wheels and flatter fold more like the City Mini.
