New thread for buggy collectors! Grin

The cheaper Buggysnuggles are at Precious Little One. They are usually the cheapest. Some styles are cheaper than others. Buggysnuggle have a few on their website too in the Sale section.
Re off road I would have thought that the Phil&teds, Mountain Buggy, etc would all be fine off road. No idea re the Nurse...I think it looks a bit odd in the catalogues.

fairimum · 09/09/2011 20:28

we use phil & teds off road to walk the dog and it is fantastic! folds really pretty small too :)

MonkeysPunk · 09/09/2011 21:37

Baby jogger elite or classic would work well off road and fold small. I prefer the build quality and lightness of these models. Or a nipper 360.
Personally I found mountain buggys customer service rock bottom appalling with no response whatsoever to my warranty claim when the locking clasp broke a month after purchase. I think phil and teds are the same company, so again based on my experience, I would avoid. No to mention that in my experience of the Phil and teds E3 explorer, it was hard to manouver and to get up kerbs.
I really think the nipper 360 is one of the best off roaders out there.
I've not mentioned the BJ summit xc, as it is very big. However it could work for you if you were prepared to POP the wheels off for transporting in your car.

Thanks Tiggy for the buggysnuggle info.
That nurse Dakar is a "jane slalom pro" without a handbrake and cheaper fabrics i think. A budget range pram. Personally i dont like to see Jane prams with wheels like this /---\ I think the wheels should stay more upright and something must be wrong if they end up like the ones in my diagram!

sillyworriedmama · 09/09/2011 22:43

hmmm thanks for the info! I hadn't considered the nipper, but that's probably because I think it looks too long (and on a personal note, I don't like how the footrest looks). I'm watching a mountain buggy swift but I'm going to try and go see it and check out the fold myself before I consider buying. For once DH thinks it's a great idea to buy a new one, which is fantastic! I think the promise of family dog walks is winning him over :) The Dakar has not bad reviews, and seeing as it's purely for walking the dog, getting muddy and generally being clambered over etc I'm not too precious about it - but it does have to do the job. I'm not against popping off wheels as long as it's very quick and easy to do. My sister loves her P&T, and I know a few friends with them so I could try them out. I think it will be a challenge to find one second hand that's in good enough nick for less than £200 though.

MonkeysPunk · 10/09/2011 08:29

There's an easylife sport on ebay for only £55 bin. They are fab pushchairs, made in NZ and just the thing for walking the dog. They fold really small too.

I have just put my beloved BJCS for sale. I loved that pushchair soooooo much. I just wish it could cope with the weight of older children better. I realised today that if I had stuck with the original Peach Blossom then I could have used that for exactly the same length of time ie 9-10 months or possibly longer with the car seat! I thought the BJCS would have lasted us until the end of our double days :( But it was good fun and I loved using it. Talking of heavy pushchairs, I am still sat here in agony after pushing the Duet at the start of the week. It's totally reaggravated my back issues and I darent use the Duet again :(

suzie38 · 10/09/2011 23:37

No probably not the best idea...Hope you're not suffering too long...I've sold my Brio Go carrycot seperately and privately...And possibly sold the pushchair part via Preloved but she can't get over until Thursday so warned her it might sell on eBay before that...Just want the space back, that the giant box it's sitting in, is taking up in my bedroom...Then DD massive dolls house can go upstairs instead...Still in two minds about the Xari...I've found my Donkey receipt so taking it to JL tomorrow after work to try and organise new foam on one side of the handle that has split...I'm going to feel silly pushing an empty pushchair though!!! Turns out DH has locked 2 savings accounts until 2014 so he's a bit stressed about buying a new car with cash so he might stress even more if i buy the Xari though i know the Donkey will sell fairly quickly if i do list it...One's been listed today for £770 so i'm watching it...The Xari is so much nicer to look out with some far better features but it's DD pushed up knees that are concerning me...We gained quite a few stares at the zoo today, with the Donkey.

suzie38 · 10/09/2011 23:39

look at

aswellasyou · 11/09/2011 11:44

Oh Tiggy! How annoying that you're in so much pain. It's amazing how much MB have let themselves down with the Duet. Sad
Suzie, I can understand the difficult decision! Confused

suzie38 · 11/09/2011 14:24

I went to JL...They're going to ring Bugaboo tomorrow with the details...Result will either be that Bugaboo take in the Donkey for repair or if i'm very lucky they might replace the whole chassis not that anything's wrong with the rest of the chassis.

Tiggywunkle · 11/09/2011 17:28

That's good news re your Donkey. JL do have great customer service.
I realised last night why the Duet was causing me problems. I thought the handle had a large range (which it does) but even at it's highest its still quite low compared to my other side by sides. I was looking at some side by side photos last night and was quite shocked at the handle height differences. I am 5 ft 6 ins which I do not think is particularly tall. But I must have been stooping to push the Duet.
We took the Peach out today and its still a dream to push one handed. The Safety First Surf has had a few outings lately and is really handy to have to nip into places.

Tiggywunkle · 13/09/2011 12:18

It's been very quiet on here. Where is everyone?
I have just made my latest purchases. At long last a BJCM4 and also a B-Agile. I thought they were the perfect two to put side by side and see how they perform. I will keep the best! I am pondering whether to get one of those similar Red Kite ones too...
I have sold my beloved BJCS too :( I will miss it.

friggFRIGG · 13/09/2011 12:22

oh no!thats sad your BJCS is gone....but you still have the icandy, right?Grin

id love a BJCM4 or a B-Agile,i'll be waiting for your reviews!

Tiggywunkle · 13/09/2011 12:56

Yes I still have the Peach Blossom for now. The BJCS got simply too heavy to use. What is bugging me now is that I sold the original Peach Blossom because I thought I would only have got 10-12 months life out of it before the baby wanted to be sat upright and that wasn't enough for me for such an expensive pushchair. The BJCS had the high seat weight limits, seating positions, large seats etc so should have seen me through to the end. But it too only lasted me ten months. (If you have twins it would probably last longer than the Peach because of the children being similar weights). So both would have lasted a similar length of time which is kind of weird really. It's strange to be at this side of both looking back IYKWIM. The new Peach Blossom meanwhile is still an easy peasy one handed push with my two heavy children on board. I can't believe the difference the changes have made.

The Nipper V2 comes out next week. I really want to try one....I was starting to warm to the Nipper and easy push by the end and I love the storage on it.

I can't wait to see which of the BJCM and B-Agile I will keep!!

How is the house hunting / nursery going, Frigg?

sillyworriedmama · 13/09/2011 19:56

I feel like a bit of an interloper here, I am a buggy obsessive but I'm too poor to collect them. I am definitely getting an off roader, but the one I think I want is the mountain buggy swift, and I can't find one anywhere I can afford :( I may have to sell a kidney. Any suggestions? I can afford about £250 tops, and I like the chilli one. >casts an eye around the real collectors to see if anyone needs to sell anything resembling the swift...

Tiggywunkle · 13/09/2011 20:01

I really wanted the Swift in chilli too....big time...until I got the Duet. And it's cured me of the Swift for life! I have no interest in one at all now. I am hankering after a Baby Jogger Elite now. I buy pushchairs for us that are carefully considered and then pushchair to review but they still have to have a good reason for buying them. The latter is a quick turn over ie one in, one out....except the Vista has scuppered me at the minute because I am still waiting for the Rumble seat. Grrr!!

sillyworriedmama · 13/09/2011 20:07

the only reason I can justify one more is because I want to keep the Cherry nice for the next newborn, the maclaren is hopeless in the woods, and I really do need an off-roader. But I've been agonising over the decision (I really am thinking too much!) but I love buggies so much I really don't want to be disappointed in my choice... I have been struggling to decide if I want something chunky like a Jane, something that can be a double in the future like a P&T, or something cheap and second hand (but I wouldn't be excited by something really well used, I know...). The swift is just so pretty for an off roader and mostly MB seem to have great reviews... The only other one I was super excited by was the BJSummit but again, I'm priced out of the choice on that one. Also, the blue colourway doesn't seem to be available in the UK?

Tiggywunkle · 13/09/2011 20:50

The Swift has no suspension though. I not like the way the fabric bunches up post recline...not a problem though if your child doesn't nap, but the Duet bunched up fabric is driving me mad! Also the Duet handle is really low...even on the highest setting. I suspect the Swift is the same. Like I said I really really really wanted a Swift but not now. I bought an Easywalker Qtro though instead :)

sillyworriedmama · 13/09/2011 21:40

ooh I've just googled the Easywalker Sky. I like! Can you get it in the UK though?

sillyworriedmama · 13/09/2011 22:19

wow seriously I can't find a UK stockist for easywalker singles anywhere, where did you find it? Did you get it imported? Let me know what you think of it!

Tiggywunkle · 13/09/2011 23:06

I am getting it imported but just after I ordered mine there was a run of Easywalker Skys and Qtros on EBay last week! I am using the guy Suzie bought her Orbit off. However if you want a Sky, I am sure I have seen them cheap in Europe and as yet I haven't paid any taxes on any items bought in Europe. I have had a Sky Duo and really liked the quality. I ave to say buying an Easywalker was really me craving some good quality fabrics and workmanship after the Duet. The Sky fabric is lovely thick canvas type fabric. The chassis are solid.

MonkeysPunk · 14/09/2011 07:02

I'd be interested to hear the cheapest european shop anyone finds for the easywalker sky. Wonder how small it folds. Also would need to look at seat size, but I've always liked the look of them. I really love the olive one!
I'm pleased to hear the quality is good too.

OP posts:
aswellasyou · 14/09/2011 11:31

silly, could you push your budget to £275? They have red or sand but not blue.

aswellasyou · 14/09/2011 11:43

Monkeys, this shop (scroll down special offers) has the Easywalker Sky with footmuff and carrycot for £400 in green. You can't buy online though. I don't know how much it should cost though.
