mummyistheword · 02/01/2011 23:43

Hi 5in still here......its that time of year.....all the bank hols etc.....just don't feel like doing anything much until tues when life returns to normal....ie school....work etc! Took dp, and dd's out today ton try out new explorer phil and teds......couldntbbe more pleased, most pleased I've ever been with a buggy, and I've had many many buggies! Dd1 loved hiding in second seat when bored of shopping.....I never subject hereto it often or very long but it is booooorin when u are 3 mummy, I was told in no uncertain terms today! Was great for carrying shopping when she walking too.. Just need panniers bags I think for change mat etc, my old mamas and papas change bag looked most scruffy with the new buggy....going to ikea 2moro, sudden need for toy storage has arisen and cushions. Dp working though. Got tonnes clothes dd's given for Xmas by well meaning fam that dont fit, need swaps but waiting for tues when hope shops quieter, can't wait, next and marksies here I come!

mum2GKH · 03/01/2011 13:45

Happy new year all
Could do with some suggestions, DD is 13 months and the harness on my zapp seem tight already Hmm
anyone else found them short? I have an xplory which I love but want something lightweight for boot, any ideas? Had an XT before but fancy something different, have you heard of the maclaren globetrotter? Seen it coming soon on mother care.

nicolamumof3 · 03/01/2011 14:23

hi all!

mum2gkh, i had a zapp when ds2/3 were older than your dd and not had a problem with the harness? is it the newest vesion? as i know the seats bigger on these may affect harness?

Mac straps are very adjustable. Don't like look of globetrotter tbh, looks just like a volo but not such nice colours?

Quests are good for that age i found? light but still padded enough for little ones and with leg rest. the new denim one is on sale in JL and looks lovely.

Im about to order a volo though my ds3 is 3.5yr and need something to push thats super light whilst pg.

5inthebed · 03/01/2011 18:33

Mummyis, Ikea Envy. That is my favourite shop. You're mad going on a bank holiday though!

Mum2GKH, I found zapps were on the small side. If you liked the height of the xplory, then try a BJCM, they are excellent, light and the fold is amazing. Mac Quests are also nice if you prefer the 4 wheels.

mum2GKH · 03/01/2011 20:04

Thanks 5in been looking on the net and seen good things about it, need to find a good price now

basl · 03/01/2011 22:46

Hello everyone Grin

Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year.Mine was very hectic!!
Our Christmas day lunch at a pub was awful, although Issy enjoyed being pulled there and back on the sledge.

Dreadful food and service but as I had consumed nearly a bottle of Merlot before any food arrived I just thought it was funny Blush

It did actually create a great atmosphere though as everybody started talking to each other to moan about everything.so we did have a fun time but I would NEVER do it again!!!

Luckily I cooked on Boxing day so we did get a decent meal over Christmas.

It's my birthday today so I am having a lazy one.Might not get dressed at all Blush Grin

basl · 04/01/2011 10:37

Happy birthday Lillychristmaspudding and pie lol yes you have a lazy one and dont get dressed its so over rated. Infact you have yourself a bottle of that merlot again and laugh all day as a gift to yourself lol xxxxxxxxxx

Happy birthday Lillypie Smile

New year, new start Basl. Part 1 is under operation as we speak Grin.

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2011 11:35

oooh whats that then 5in?

Hello all..Happy Birthday lillypie!

Im feeling very down atm. Paranoid about this pg just can't shift my worry though it is totally irrational i know. I don't know why. I have another fortnight til my scan as well, think i will have to pay for another private one Sad

Ordered myself a volo this morning now feeling guilty about that. Really really low today, hope i snap out of it soon.

5inthebed · 04/01/2011 12:11

See here Nicola.

Nicola, first 12 weeks of any pregnancy are really stressful, try not to worry too much. You still got horrible morning sickness? If a private scan is what will put your mind at rest, then go for it! How much are private scans?

Just picked DS3 up from playgroup, he was so excited to see me, love him! DS1+2 not back at school until tomorrow, they are still in their pyjamas

maxybrown · 04/01/2011 12:38

Hello all, well back to "normal" in this house - whatever that is!

Happy Birthday lillypie Smile hope you have a lovely day.

We are off out shortly after we have had some lunch. Need to buy loads of veg and do some exercise as trying to lose 3 stone by summer Shock
5in, just read your thread - hope all goes ok for you, must be quite tricky. x

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2011 12:45

wow 5in i know you said already about your dad. Very sad that your mum couldn't be alot nicer about it all? I hope you find the answers you need, It will be difficult on your step dad too very difficult. He very obviously loves you as his own. Huge hugs anyway hunnie xxxx

Maxy im starting my swimming again this week. I need to stop moping around i think! We are off too in a minute x

basl · 04/01/2011 20:06

Evening lovely ladies. 5in that sounds very exciting and very scary at the same time. I really hope it works out for you and get some answers you have been looking for. I agree your step dad does sound like he loves you lots so i wish you luck with this and well done you for taking the first journey on our New train of thought xx

Nicola i do think first 12 weeks are always like that. What you feeling down about? I think you will feel better after your scan tho.

Hiya Maxy and i will def be joining you my lovely in the 3 stone weight loss. I have started today as i look about 9 months pg and fed up of folk asking me if i am. Maxy did you tell me your mum had a swollen tummy and she had fybroids. I am def going to see about mine as it is really high up and looks like a baby but i am sure we all know it isn't lol
Lovely to get back to a good old chin wag on here i have been ever so busy stuffing my face and drinking with my family over the christmas and New year lol

nicolamumof3 · 04/01/2011 20:16

awww evening basl my lovely.

yes its hard going these early weeks, i think more access to internet this time and more horror stories have me running scared. Terry said to me if i had a scan today and all is fine i would only worry again next week...he's right. I am a born worrier. Will be better when i feel movements.

I feel huge already i look at least 5m pg sometimes after i've eaten.

Basl my mum had fibroids quite badly she had full hysterectomy in the end she was in a lot of pain and very heavy periods, she was anaemic because of it. Poor thing. Not nice at all.

Well its peaceful here all on my own with fire roaring. About to switch off and telly on i think! was going to do my ironing the pile collapsed on the floor this morning its so huge! haven't done any in days. I am not sleeping well so each day is a bit of a struggle atm. Hope getting back into routine will help me alot. I don't like not having school routine tbh Sad

basl · 04/01/2011 20:22

I like that you leave the ironing till you feel better nicola Grin Well i agree with Terry and just try and hold off then it's going to be a long time so try not get too anxious but i know it's easier said than done. Oh and nowt wrong with buying a wee volo Wink

Enjoy your telly xxx

I could have cried today with nipper in shops, its crap for shopping, whereas i can get tons in a maclaren basket and hang stuff off handles. Im struggling already pushing the nipper feel like a right weakling!

volo will be lovely hope it comes soon!

basl · 04/01/2011 20:35

I have not thought about a pram in weeks in fact i can't remember the last time i had a pram out. Really could see them far enough just now. I am waiting on news of my cousin and his girlfriend baby. She is way over due and taken in yesterday to be induced but nothing yet. It's my Aunties first Grandchild and long awaited. She is the most amazing, kind and loving woman and honestly this baby is going to be so loved when it arrives lol she has bought a new car so she has isofix? and gutted the spare room JUST incase the baby gets to stay. Such an exciting time for them.
