Divatheshopaholic · 20/08/2010 19:45

Hi Maxy, Glad you had good time, but please don`t move. What about me?Wink
I had Boden parcel missing last winter, it was order i placed just before sale, and it never arrived. They asked me to wait and call after some days, and replaced it.
Had terrible day in with two over-activ children due to rain. I baked Banana cake again, dh loves it and will eat half of the cake in one goShock And he is stick thinEnvy

maxybrown · 20/08/2010 19:58

Grin diva. sorry.

Will still see you though - no escaping! Grin

Oh did you? Right will contact them then, they sent the email on 27th July and said by royal mail grrrrr. I thought they always used courier? funny I got both small parcels. Some other stuff I ordered is now on delay too Sad maybe see if I can swap it then. Will ring them in the morning I think.

Oh did come home to some bery nice news - I won £200 of sainsburys vouchers on MN Grin so been getting ourselves some nice food and bits and pieces, lovely! They were delivered special delivery day after we arrived home, fabby.

Divatheshopaholic · 20/08/2010 20:03

Oh Maxy, congratulations!!!!!
Thats great news. Im so pleased. Grin
I would call them, and explain you been away etc... I find Boden is really good customer service.

nicolamumof3 · 20/08/2010 22:34

oh maxy well done thats great! Just what you need after hols. Yep always found boden c/s fab too they will sort it for you. A big parcel im surprised if it wasn't sent signed for? all my biggies are HDNL courier just little ones with one or two things are RM?

maxybrown · 21/08/2010 08:49

Yeah that's what surprised me when I read the email. I have only ever had the odd thing sent RM, weird. Oh well hopefully get it sorted later.

Brother coming back today to do our fence and sun is shining so need to crack on with the washing!

Have good days everyone Smile

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/08/2010 08:57

I had two Boden parcels recently and both signed for which surprised me.
Also second all of the great customer service tales as I returned a pair of trousers which had a sticky zip after I had worn and washed them several times [persevering]
Boden sent me a free returns label and refunded me the whole amount, even though they were in the sale, before I sent them off.
Have a good day yourself!
I am off Shopping for baby present.Woohoo

Divatheshopaholic · 21/08/2010 09:19

5inthebed · 21/08/2010 10:31

Morning everyone.

Nicola, hope you feel better soon :(

Well done Maxy! You've been lucky with the competitions on here lately haven't you!

There is a fete on the park opposite my house today, should be fun. Weather is nice enough for it as well. Boys are excited about it.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 21/08/2010 11:41

i never enter the comps on here, i should do.

feel like im so drowsy, i only took 10mg of this tablet docs wanted me to progress up to 30mg but i won't! it was traditionally used for depression up to 150mg. no thank you.

feel really bored and so are boys, bored of doing the same old same old. Terry's worked two weeks now with no day off, and he's got another four days to go yet Sad

basl · 21/08/2010 14:01

Hiya Maxy Grin well thats a nice homecoming then. I love Sainsbury's for shopping.
Hope you get your boden shopping sorted to and your email problems. Glad you loved your holiday and real inspiration eh??? to move back to where you were your most happiest Smile really missed you.

nic hope your meds side effects wear off a bit. No good feeling zombied when you have kids. Sad
Bexie my friends wee boy could have gone to school with Olivia but he is in that funny cut off time scale but totally agree that the 2nd year makes a huge difference. I saw a huge change in Olivia in her second year in nursery and really showing better confidence now at school. Can't believe Erin is 8months. She should be able to fly now no probs with you and I and if you still want to go on a meet to see the MN girls or would you want to leave her for a day???

Trying to look at venues today for my birthday party and the place i like is huge but a bit too huge probably unless i invite all the children. Most people i would imagine would want to leave there kids tho. What do you think.

basl · 21/08/2010 15:00

Thats my big sister home now. Not 100% at all and still feeling very faint and sick Hmm she fainted yesterday after trying to get up to the loo but they are still not sure why.Angry she told them she is as well at home as lying around in bed there so she is home now. My poor mum has had an awful time over this as brought it all back to her the times she went to see my little sister in hospital. It was the same set up and really freaky walking in and seeing her with the oxygen etc just too similar for my mums liking and then all the blood loss and uncertainty as to what is not right is not lying well with her. Sad
So we are going to visit tonight and i am taking mum out for a meal and a few wines to try settle her a bit.
It is so strange how you can put somethings way to the back of your mind and when i was walking into the hospital it does bring lots back of what you choose to hide away. It was the most awful thing to watch my little sister die and to watch her in pain and suffer. It reminded me of when she was crying that her head hurt so much and i begged them to give her stronger painkillers but they could not. We also sat at her bedside while she passed away with the oxygen switched off.
I am sorry to be so graphic but i am not going to let these feelings bury away again and just want to say it out loud so to speak and then move on. I know you will all understand i get great relief typing my thoughts on here and put it down to me getting where i am today. So promise not to go on and on but i feel better even now saying it and thinking about it all and having a bloody good cry. Smile

nicolamumof3 · 21/08/2010 15:48

oh basl you get it out we don't mind. it must be very upsetting to see your sister like that for you as well as your mum. Hope your sister is getting plenty of looking after at home? Sending you a big huge squeezy hug anyway.

I feel really bored, and fed up, quite teary. I can't wait for kids to get back to school, back to a routine im so bored and lonely. Just like last bloody w/end i hate the w/ends!

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/08/2010 16:02

My friends I wish we could pop round to one or others of our houses and have a chat, a cuppa and a bit of cake.
Basl you just let it out to us and I hope it does give you some peace. And Nicola I am so sorry I never get brave enough for meet ups the two of us. Sad
I sometimes think though that chatting here gives me something that RL can't. A freedom to talk about some things that you maybe don't come out with every day.
Then there's the pushchairs......Grin
I have my double Nipper on ebay and the knackered P&T [curently at 99p] and when they sell I am going to get a really fab Snunkie liner for the Micralite and maybe even a jacket for myself.
We got my new nephew some JoJo leather booties with frogs on the front and some Mothercare plastic rings which my DDs always enjoyed playing with as young babies.

nicolamumof3 · 21/08/2010 16:11

oh nice, im contemplating a superlite dunoon. what colour is yours? will i really prefer it to the xt?

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/08/2010 16:22

Hmm well very different to the XT. Mine is black. I know there was a grey on offer somewhere. Maybe Kiddicare. Same price as mine with footmuff included. I'm selling the footmuff I think when the colder weather sets in.
What do you value about the XT and I will tell you how it compares to the Micralite?

basl · 21/08/2010 16:28

Flyme i think i agree with you on that point. I have talked more about my troubles on here more than i have in RL ever. I am always afraid to break down in RL and a bloody good actress don't you know. Here i have nothing to hide and just let it all out. Smile

I would love the coffee and cake you offer. Infact i have cake to take to my siters now. Even if she is sick at least she will be able to indulge for a wee while.

Thanks for the hug nicola. I think back to school and routine is the way to go although i hear lots of girls at work saying they will miss the kids and love the hols Shock I think routine and structure is def what i need and sure thats what keeps you going with such a hectic lifestyle nicola. Have you thought anymore about that holiday Grin oh and my doo in January. I decided that on your recommendation. Grin You could stay at nice hotel with the other girls and if we super organize and save up and not buy too many pushchairs between now and then we could manage a shopping trip into edinburgh and lunch at Flyme and I's fav Tiger lilly's. Oooooooohhh sounds fabby do to me.

FlyMeToDunoon · 21/08/2010 16:42

Grin basl. Yes!

nicolamumof3 · 21/08/2010 18:13

yes yes yeeeeeeeeeeees i will be there basl.

feeling even more sorry for myself its my bday in 3weeks and dh doesn't seem to want to plan anything Sad

well what i like about black xt...

hmmm looks its sleek, stylish
easy to use put/up down even for bus (but only get once a month tops
nice basket for all my parcels/shopping
luka fits in easily and can hop in/out as pleases
reclines and spacious seat for him

5inthebed · 21/08/2010 19:09

Evening ladies. Been out all day and I'm now shattered.

There was a community fete thing on the fild opposite me today. Lots of things for the kids to do, horse rides, face painting, few fairground rides, bouncy castl and loads of other things. All free. Kids had a fantastic time. DS2 stayed on the car ride for over an hour! Then to my mams for a bbq but the less said about that the better.

Basl that sounds like fun!

It's my 30th in November and Iw as going to have a house party. Will have to see though.

OP posts:
FlyMeToDunoon · 21/08/2010 19:10

Ok
The superlite is imo quite stylish with black frame. But a bit gadgety looking. Men seem to like it Grin
It is easy to put down and folds up neatly. Probably takes up about same space as the XT too. I have been finding it easier to put down by unclipping at back and then coming round to the front and pushing front of seat down into open position. Not a problem for me.
Basket holds a surprising amount but just as XT is limited by it's shape this one has to be negotiated with some objects. With XT you can slot long things down the back of the seat for instance but Superlite might not fit them in. On the other hand it will take bags of potatoes, jackets, bottles etc no problem. It has a strap which runs down the middle of it, taught.
DDs 2 and 3 both fit in fine and certainly DD3 hops in and out to [my] distraction.
Slight recline and dd has snoozed in it. She seems comfy enough.

My big plus point for it is that it feels easier to push a bigger child in than a Maclaren.

We must meet up and you could try mine Smile

nicolamumof3 · 21/08/2010 19:19

yes you see if we met we could do a buggy swap for the day, tho you might not like the xt lol! im thinking of just ordering a blue one (or yellow?!) with the m/care 20pc code?

5inthebed · 21/08/2010 21:12

I love the blue one Nicola.

Right ladies, thinking caps on. My friend is pregnant. When she has this baby her youngest will be 18 months. What would be the best pram for her to get, not too expensive though so the baby jogger city select is out the question. P&T? Nipper double? She doesn't mind second hand. Needs to fold smallish to fit in the boot of her car.

OP posts:
5inthebed · 21/08/2010 21:13

Or maybe a twin umbrella fold pram like Mac Techno XT? What are those like to push?
