oh lillypie how exciting, i'd be beside myself!! What time do they arrive?

we are going to hairdressers today on the bus im going to let Tate sit upstairs he's excited about that! Might have a quick look at school shoes depending on how busy the shops i intend on getting them when kids gone back tho as Tate doesn't start til 13th.

lillypie · 19/08/2010 09:16

They got on at 6 so they should be here any minute.I took Issy on the top of the bus for the first time last week, she loved it!

5inthebed · 19/08/2010 09:22

Morning everyone. I'm stuck indoors today :( They are laying new gas pipes outside and I've got wait in for my gas check, could be any time up to 9pm Hmm

So far it is sunny, and I have told the kids I'll take the paddling pool out for them to splash around in.

Lilly, have fun with your family. So exciting for you!

nicolamumof3 · 19/08/2010 10:14

right think we are ready to leave the building! enjoy your days ladies, looking forward to catching up with maxy later!

basl · 19/08/2010 10:22

Morning everyone. MAXY!!!!! so please you are back it feels like you have been away for ever and ever. So looking forward to hearing all about your hols and find out how my wee pal is. Really missed you and missed hearing all about James. Grin

Divi it will look small but even the big kids love scooting around on Daniels. It goes really fast if they get a good run at it and left their legs. Grin

basl · 19/08/2010 10:40

lillypie i would miss my mum so much if she was not near me. I am so excited for you and thinking about you today. It must be amazing. Grin

Well it was my dn Ben's first day at high school yesterday and what a nightmare. I prob told you all but he had no clue where to go and was looking all lost his dad said. I asked his dad if they were not told at the induction meetings and he said they never went. Shock

So first day no clue where to go. Great. Then i asked what time he finished and he had no clue. He assured me he would be fine as he had left the back door open for him. Shock
He is only 12 for FFS!!! Nobody to meet him at home on his return except for a burglar. Yes as ben opened the door he caught a guy in his house. The man shoved him to the side and ran off with his new phone and other bits and pieces. No insurance as door unlocked.
I was sick physically sick when binlaw told us. That fecking man does not desrve those kids and i hate him with as much anger i can possibly have. My sister was be devestated to here her boys treated like this and so the opposite of how she was. She would have been to every meeting, joined the parent council, raised funds, met him at the door no matter what and served him his fav meal and big cuddle. I fu~ hate that man has made me so angry.
Sister not doing so good in hospital either. She collapsed yesterday and lost loads of blood. They think they have not tied up an artery properly so leaking loads of blood. Also infection setting in due to this. So mum upset and i can't tell anyone about what that stupid man has done.
I am going to phone his mum today and tell her it's not on.

Welcome home Maxy, honest i have been very upbeat and cheery lately and please don't think. Does that girl never stop moaning. Smile

nicolamumof3 · 19/08/2010 14:10

ffs basl im boiling here reading that and now the tears are coming! it really pulls my heart strings as same age as tom and he has his first day at secondary in two weeks. I couldn't imagine not having him fully prepared, not having attended all the meetings, open days etc. And to not be there when he came home, then to top it of an f*ing burglar? What has his useless father got to say about it?! this is not on at all, serious chat time me thinks?

And then your poor sis, how could they have left her like that? the nhs leaves alot to be desired. I am only having minor procedure on the 1st but am still worried about being asleep and what exactly goes on when you aren't awake iykwim.

sending you hugs how is dn??

i've had stressful morning with boys taking them to hairdressers, have an apt at docs this afternoon so long walk for tate he will be whinging no doubt!

basl · 19/08/2010 15:00

OMG Olivia has homework. Grin although it's confused me already Blush It's a sound she is learning. The letter S and has action to follow the letter round like a snake. Then a little list of words with the letter S. Fair enough but then at the bottom in little printed writing is says draw the letters following the dots.
There are no dots. Just words and i am wondering is she to draw dots and follow or was that cut out from an older kids book Confused What chance has the wee girl got when i am stuck on day one homework. LOL

nicolamumof3 · 19/08/2010 15:11

lol! are they following jolly phonics?

louii · 19/08/2010 15:28

Basl, DS got the same homework, there should be dots in the shape of the letter S under the snake at bottom of page. To draw on the dots then do a few more S's without dots. HTH
Hope no one minds me just jumping on in here.

basl · 19/08/2010 15:54

Ahhhh thanks louii but she is only 2nd day in primary 1. Apparently they cut this out from the homework sounds like you have. They just have to make the shape with there finger but thankyou for commenting. That was kind of you and may need your help another time Grin thanks

louii · 19/08/2010 16:38

Basl, DS also just started Primary 1 yesterday, he got it home first day, on his second letter tonight, not looked yet, think it might be a.

Divatheshopaholic · 19/08/2010 16:39

Aww, Basl. Sending you hugs. Thats so terrible. Hope everyone is ok.

Lol at home work. It gets me confused, too.

We had serious accident at around lunch time. Ds pushed dd from the top of the stairs, she tumbled down and although i was only a seconds away i did not see what happened. All i saw was dd lying down at the bottom of steps.
ShockAngrySad
Im so upset, i was terrified. I know they were chasng each other and hide&seek in dd`s bedroom a few mins ago. I cant believe he pushed her.Angry
Anyway its been 3 hours, dd seems ok, acting like nothing happened after 30min rest and cold press and doze of calpol.
Im so worried, i will watch her today.
Tell me its ok, and things like this happensSad

basl · 19/08/2010 16:45

Oh louii thats funny then. There is no dotted letters at all. Should i just practise the sound then???

basl · 19/08/2010 16:47

Awww Diva things like this always happen. Sounds like she will be ok. Yes just keep an eye out but my two have had bad falls and ok. It is an awfull shock. Have you checked arms and shoulders.

Big hugs back to you xxxx

nicolamumof3 · 19/08/2010 16:48

yes they do happen all the time. As long as she's ok try not to worry if she seems drowsy or not 'with it' go to a&e but i'd say she's ok if been 3hrs. Its so frightening and always seems worse when you're on your own with them doesn't it. Sending you hugs.

im so tired just been to docs for my review of meds for migraines given some different stuff to try. But couldn't wait in chemist for it as luka needed a wee...story of my life that one!

FlyMeToDunoon · 19/08/2010 18:30

OMG so much happening today.
Basl I am furious on you and your DN's behalf. What crap behaviour. Hope DN is ok and results of his father's actions are a major kick up the arse for him [the dad]
Best wishes to your sister too.
Diva I would have been terrified. I hope she is doing ok tonight.
Lillypie no doubt you are very busy. Have a great time.
Nicola am emailing you a quick question.

5inthebed · 19/08/2010 19:14

Evening ladies.

Basl, how bloody awful! I'm Angry on your and your DN behalf. What a thoughtless twat his dad sounds, poor child :( Hope your sister is doing better as well.

Diva, hope your DD is ok. As long as she didn't knock herself out and didn't vomit afterwards then she should be ok, if a little bruised. No lumps or bumps on arms legs to worry about?

I've had my sister here for most of the afternoon. It was lovely sitting in the garden watching the kids play. They behaved themselves for once.

Basl, I've often send ds1's homework back to school with a ? on it Blush.

I have to get going to DD2's last swimming lesson.
We also have a pre-teen sleepover on the go so I expect the usual lack of sleep grumpiness/hysterical squealing scenario from them.
To all those in England let's raise a cup of tea to 2nd September.
OMG still almost two weeks away
