I love cheese. I was a mouse in a former life.

Will Terry be working Christmas day then?

nicolamumof3 · 17/09/2010 21:37

ummm no bloody way will he!!

GeekOfTheWeek · 17/09/2010 22:01

No worries nic, just when you get chance. No rush at all.

5in, I get on with my mil ok it is dh that can't stand her. She is a bit of a selfish hag though Wink

BexieID · 18/09/2010 06:19

I hate going out xmas day, although since i've been up here we do goto PIL for present opening and/or dinner, or we do dinner at ours/SIL next door.

This years xmas will hopefully be a bit better than last year as everyone was ill except BIL, SIL and Erin!

Erin is actually sitting up! Have to have cushions behind her in case she gets excited and flops backwards! Grin

nicola, my brother is called James as well. However, he doesn't buy anyone anything, not even the kids. And there was me thinking of going halves on a netbook for him for his 30th Shock

Off to work soon, the joys.

5inthebed · 18/09/2010 07:22

Well done Erin!

Geek, I used to like my MIl, but as soon as I had kids she changed, and then sh has otten worse since FIL died 2 years ago. She expects me to do all her running around for her, I'm an unpaid taxi service for her. I can't begin to tell you how much I loathe her.

I'm heping my dad clear my uncle's place today. Not looking forward to it, but my dad asked me to help. Couldn't really say no could I.

I would love to go out for christmas dinner. We either have it at home and DP is droopy because he is not with his family and it's a huge effort and the kids don't eat it blah blah blah. Or we go to ils carting parcels on the train or waiting for mil to give us a lift. Then I always have my doubts about the food, we are at the mercy of mil or public transport to get home again, laden with children's packages again. Sigh.
Last year I tried to organise a pub to stay in in ils town but they were too expensive and or booked up.

nicolamumof3 · 18/09/2010 08:36

where do they live Dunoon??

Im lucky because i do have pretty amazing parents who make a fuss and spoil us all. (my mum and stepdad) my dad and stepmum good too but don't see them as much. My brother lives in Greece and is notoriously slow at everything bless him! But he is getting Married next w/end and im not going Sad

5in you have the patience of a saint really you do!

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/09/2010 08:41

Sandwich Nicola. Very quiet and quite hard to get to.
5in hope today goes ok.

nicolamumof3 · 18/09/2010 08:45

oh my that is a way isn't it. I like xmas' on our own we had a few stressful ones since tate and luka arrived as inlaws and other family members just turn up and expect to be waited on hand and foot. Not nice. DH then was trapped in kitchen and spent v.little time with his boys. This year will be so relaxing. v.special and a one off treat for us not something we will do every year and hopefully will have a little new addition next christmas anyway!

5in my above comment was directed at your mil just read back and realised how bad it sounded re your uncle so sorry. hope today is not too difficult and thinking of you and your dad xxx

5inthebed · 18/09/2010 09:10

Nicola, I knew it wasn't meant for that Smile. You know what crap I put up with from her. So no worries.

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/09/2010 13:48

The liner from snunkie is turning into a bit of a saga. The fabric I wanted is out of stock and snunkie also lost all of their emails recently so I had to email back with details again and specified different fabric.
Different fabric is also out of stock. Details- I will have to measure where I want things to go and pay £2 extra for. Original fabric should be available again in mid October.
Ain't nothing simple huh?
Lovely and sunny here atm. Washing all dry and have been down town and back and had lunch.
DCs watching a film and eating home-popped popcorn.

GeekOfTheWeek · 18/09/2010 14:26

Popcorn and film sounds great Flyme, you have just decided my saturday evening Grin

5in, so sorry about your uncle. You definately sound like a saint putting up with the mil.

Totoros- no sorry.

Bexie- Morrissons, Tesco and Sainsbury's?

5inthebed · 18/09/2010 19:47

Younger Next stuff goes to 4-5 Nicola.

Bexie, Tesco, Asda then Morrisons?

Well today was relatively easy. The woman downstairs to my uncle has done most of it, bless her. Sh has a key and used to take him his tea every day (he was mentally disabled), so thought she would save us the job and heartahe of going through the mountains of stuff he hoarded.

I'm having a glass or four or red wine tonight, and maybe a prawn wrap for my tea.
