Maybe Daniel will like some of these things at christmas then after watching the films a few times.

Has anyone seen the film the toy catcher??? It is so good and can't wait for Daniel to enjoy that. Olivia loves it.

basl · 20/07/2010 10:29

Morning everyone, Sal hope you have a relaxing time at your Mums and i now know Toy story is the way to go.

I have woke up this morning in the most fowl mood. I am so hot and honestly snapping at the least little thing. Stressed out to the max. Not felt like this for ages. So we are off out now the rain as stopped to a little animal center with picnic area etc with my sister. I am should really stay in and wait on scuttlebug but i really have to get out or i will have a loooonnnnnnyyyyyyyy tune fit.

Sure i will feel better when i get back. Hope everyone has a great day. xxxx

GeekOfTheWeek · 20/07/2010 11:08

Morning all,

My gran did all the holiday ironing yesterday. I have put everything in the case and it is way too heavy Am going to have to repack and take a holdall too even the weight out!

More next items have arrived, still waiting for 3 pairs of sandals that i am hoping will come before we go on sunday.

basl, i feel like that today too. Hope you have a nice day out.

maxybrown · 20/07/2010 11:20

I am putting off my holiday ironing Geek - though usually do it the night before. Think I'll make my list today. Am dreading how much stuff we will have. Need to get our car back so we can start experimenting with seat positions etc. yikes!

nicolamumof3 · 20/07/2010 12:12

i hate getting ready for holidays its so stressful.

basl i so know where you're coming from. I get so stressed out too with these boys. I've currently just put Tate on a tv ban as im sick of his attitude and constant answering back! he's not happy. But should hit him where it hurts! he's playing toy story lego before we go to nursery.

Maxy i have some lunar jim stuff and a couple of books will sort through when i have a minute.

maxybrown · 20/07/2010 12:21

It's the weather I swer it. I am soooooooo tired, bad night and so blinking warm, but raining really muggy though.
Oh and I go tmy period - not that you all needed to know that but it doesn't help matters!

Off to shop for some lunch me thinks.

James has been terrible too, really bad. i tild him last night if we have anymore of it, he isn't going camping. Hmph!

Nic that would be fabby thank you x

nicolamumof3 · 20/07/2010 12:28

Divatheshopaholic · 20/07/2010 12:58

Im baking Misdee`s banana cake now, Its smells lovely already. My friend made it last time and she said it was very soft light sponge cake.
We have Lunar Jim toy, a girl with scooter Ds never plays with it
Maxy i will email you asap.

maxybrown · 20/07/2010 13:50

Nic will leave pjs thank you. Worried they will be way too big!

Ooh I love banana cake - my favourite one is the weight watchers recipe, really moist! not made that for years. really need some baking equipment, hardly got anything.

FlyMeToDunoon · 20/07/2010 14:37

Might try the banana cake. I don't normally like it but love the Flour Power one which is very buttery and has frangipane baked on the top. We always have bananas going brown in the fruit bowl.
Got the black superlite liner today and not sure about it. One side is padded mesh fabric which I know on the Quest catches every crumb and keeps hold of it. The other side is smooth but I don't think it is meant to be used on that side really. Also it has velcro straps at the bottom but not the top so will have to see if it shifts about too much.

The Weight watchers one uses corn oil, it's so easy and yummy. Typically no bananas going off Am off to hunt out recipe now - your fault Diva!

Divatheshopaholic · 20/07/2010 15:23

Banana cake

2-3 ripe bananas
6oz sugar
8oz SR flour
4ox butter
2 eggs
mash the bananas up.
beat together butter and sugar until fluffy
beat in the eggs.
add the mashed bananas.
fold in the flour.
put in a baking pan/cake tin/load tin.
bake at gas 4 for 40mins, then lower to gas 2 for 20mins.
dust with icing sugar.

And its yummy, i only used 2 bananas as im not really banana lover
Please share your tried and tasted fabby recipes

Divatheshopaholic · 20/07/2010 15:27

Im going to make dozen cupcakes and lemon drizzle cake, too.

My gran does all my baking! Not the ironing gran, my other one

God, i'm lucky.

I love the ww spicy wedges.

Chop white spuds into, erm, wedge shapes.
Boil til soft.
Spray baking tray with 1 cal oil spray.
Put in wedges.
Spray over with oil.
Salt pepper and chilli flakes
Oven bake at about 190 for about 20 to 30 mins.

Goes lovely with fat free tzatziki.

Tub of greek yogurt, the 0% fat one.
The juice of half a lemon.
Black pepper
Garlic
Finely chopped cucumber
Mix well

All the above goes nicely with wine

nicolamumof3 · 20/07/2010 16:27

sounds lovely ladies! i love a bit of home cooking me. Going to get seriously back into in september when i have EVERY AFTERNOON to myself yipeeee!

if anyone goes into next and sees boys snuggle fit pj's in 2/3 please can you get them for me?

maxybrown · 20/07/2010 16:33

Me too, but fed up of cooking all the time now and never having a meal cooked for me. Yaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwn

nicolamumof3 · 20/07/2010 16:38

oh i spose im lucky there. Does your dh not cook at all? Alot men i know love cooking now.

maxybrown · 20/07/2010 16:42

He is excellent at cooking Nic - better than me! But never does it anymore - tis a bone of contention at the minute! When James was little he cooked all the time, was yummy! Not because he is a man who hasn't a clue!

I don't love cooking anymore because I do it everyday nearly ever day of the year and he doesn't love cooking because - no idea why! Granted some evenings, he comes home and works til silly o clock at busy times of year so we would never eat then if he did it, but once in a while would be nice.

Funny, because my Mum is having the same thing with my Dad and he always cooked too.

nicolamumof3 · 20/07/2010 16:45

weird huh? i never get this thing some couples have 'oh i've been working all day ' (the h) because so has the wife so always think men should help out. Terry does loads of jobs when he's here. Does cooking every day mostly!

FlyMeToDunoon · 20/07/2010 17:15

I am sick of cooking. The thinking up things to eat bit and then the actual doing it. Gah! I too do it every day and it is so boring. Plus the DDs are quite picky. Also [while I am at it] DP is not very appreciative.
It was lovely when sister was here as she cooked twice and all from scratch. I get a bit as I tend to wheel out frozen or very basic meals these days. Not inspired at all.
Micralite liner is going as it's not for me or DD.
Quest too I think [wibble]
