What is the shade typically used on exterior woodwork on older houses which works so well?

Is it vert de terre? Pigeon? Ball Green? Or even Stone White?

Maybe any are acceptable. But IME they vary greatly once actually applied.

Does anyone know?

EachPeach - How are you? What date is DS due to make an appearance?

EachPeachPearMum · 07/01/2009 22:01

Hi Swedes- read that as 'in a cage' not a cape for some reason!
Due 21st, so 2 weeks left
Am feeling very full and waddly. DD just had a vomiting bug (nice) so has had 2 weeks off nursery, and I am needing an after lunch nap now! My lovely MIL has popped round a few times so I can sleep but she can't do every day as she works.

And I'm having very odd dreams too, paint charts being the least of it

Oh, how I wish I lived in Altnaharra in a French Gray adorned stone croft.

Coo, you'd need your thermals in Altnaharra this week MrsSB.

MrsSeanBean · 07/01/2009 22:11

The croft of my dreams has the mother of all agas though ME.
Are you in the environs ME?

midnightexpress · 07/01/2009 22:12

Sadly not - Glasgow. That's my dream croft you're after btw.

MrsSeanBean · 07/01/2009 22:14

I have a certain fondness for Glasgow as well ME, I once had a flirtation with a very sexy (but sadly married) Glaswegian. The accent still sends a frisson of pleasure down my spine though.

Are we talking about the Alnaharrie Inn?

I love Glasgow. Just the other week I threw out my Glasgow European City of Culture commemorative tights. They were hilarious I don't know what I was thinking.

MrsSeanBean · 08/01/2009 00:23

This one Swedes?

Ah. I thought you meant this one which I have been to

Both Alnahrrie Inn and Altnaharra Hotel are in administration.

MrsSeanBean · 08/01/2009 11:37

Looks lovely as well ME. and to hear about the administration. Hope they don't 'go under'.

'whats the lovely mucky green everyone is painting their front door - sort of very Norfolk' and she sent me to

french gray

anyone agree or used it?

MrsSeanBean · 08/01/2009 23:36

Yes Ria, research for this thread has proved it is indeed French Gray. Hope stocks don't run too low as I suspect there will be a few MNers after this colour.

I think the colour you are looking for is F & B 'Old White'. Hope this helps your quest.

beachyhead · 31/12/2011 00:45

It's Bone, sometimes green, sometimes brown, sometimes grey.....It's fab

GrendelsMum · 17/10/2012 17:47

To resurrect an old thread...

Has anyone found a greenish-grey paint in a hard-wearing exterior gloss such as Dulux Weathershield? Blueish-grey will do at a pinch?

LordFlasheart · 17/10/2012 17:50

Card room green. But its FB.

GrendelsMum · 18/10/2012 21:10

Thanks!
