How to do a picture gallery on this wall

I’m useless at this kind of stuff so would appreciate some ideas ! What colour frames would you choose ? I’ve added a picture of the floor which is over 100 years old and original to the house and I absolutely adore.

Edit - ignore the ugly stairs, they’re being redone hence the state of them right now. I plan to paint them white and have a stair runner. Just want some ideas for a picture gallery at the moment.

Not going to lie.. it was a horrible job! We sanded the bannisters too.. it did take ages and they aren’t perfect, but we got them as good as we could manage.
i have a gallery wall in the downstairs hallway too which is more colourful and eclectic
