Anyone else browse Rightmove for fun after moving house? If so, what do you think of this house and its “garden”?

We moved house recently, so I have no intention of doing it again for a long time, if ever. However, I am now addicted to wandering around Rightmove just for entertainment purposes, which is probably a bit sad! Anyway, I have just seen this house for sale and wondered what Mumsnetters would think of it…

Also as you can see on the map, there is one of those 'dessert' businesses very close. You know, you often find them these days in city centres, some people prefer to go there rather than a pub etc. we were actually saying the other day why is this one in this location on a busy road skirting the town. You're not going to get customers walking by. It's all a bit odd.

IglesiasPiggl · 29/06/2026 14:17

Could do with a few more cushions. 😂

italianlondongirl · 29/06/2026 14:18

Truly awful

Branleuse · 29/06/2026 14:19

I hate everything about it except for the amount of space.

Stella1366 · 29/06/2026 14:19

Too much bling and gravel for my taste. Hopefully, for the home owner anyway, that it's someone else's.

Jamesblonde2 · 29/06/2026 14:20

Well there’s plenty of room for more caravans and transit vans isn’t there?

Wowthatwasabigstep · 29/06/2026 14:20

How many cushions are necessary……😁

zen1 · 29/06/2026 14:23

The colourway brings to mind Marlboro Lights.

REP22 · 29/06/2026 14:23

Like being trapped inside a white chocolate Magnum.

scoopsahoooy · 29/06/2026 14:24

The piss bathroom is so upsetting.

OutOfApricots · 29/06/2026 14:26

Cushions-R-Us meets lorry park.

LibertyLily · 29/06/2026 14:27

Hideous. Inside and out.

Blankscreen · 29/06/2026 14:27

Clearly the house for the 'king' gypsy with the others living in caravans in the 'garden'

ModernV · 29/06/2026 14:32

I think someone has a clean aesthetic, killer bath, spacious rooms and lots to work with outside!

BauhausOfEliott · 29/06/2026 14:33

The interior certainly isn't to my taste, but would be very easy to redecorate. Similarly, the odd rectangular gravel plot surrounding it wouldn't be difficult to turf and replant with some trees.

However... the location is... incredibly fucking weird. It looks like it's on an industrial estate. I'm assuming the house belongs to the owner/former owner of the adjacent business or something?! Really odd.

OlympicWomen · 29/06/2026 14:35

It's not to my taste, but it's absolutely spotless and has definitely been looked after. Better than the ubiquitous grey.
I don't see why their lifestyle is a problem?

RhannionKPSS · 29/06/2026 13:52

Very cold looking, those floors will be a nightmare

Yup, a broken hip waiting to happen !

SausageRoll2020 · 29/06/2026 14:38

I don't think I've ever seen a gold coloured carpet before, and don't think I ever want to again!

Definitely a case of more money than class peek

stealthninjamum · 29/06/2026 14:38

I like the floor plan, it seems quite family friendly but I’d need to spend so much money decorating all of it, making it more homely, and turning the garden into a garden.

GinToBegin · 29/06/2026 14:39

I’m a Rightmove browser and really thought I’d seen it all. Then I saw the Artful Cushion Mound and the garden of despond. Horrible. (To each their own, I know, and lord knows taste is subjective, but the staging of that house is objectively lousy.)

And what the fuck are they living next door to? The whole thing has more red flags than Shanghai High Street.

Duvetdayneeded · 29/06/2026 14:40

Not for me as it’s lacking in gold and cushions (sarcastic)!!!

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/06/2026 14:40

It's a house that looks like it belonged to a traveller family so you know that you would not have to clean a thing moving in as they are so house proud, it would be immaculate. The garden is functional for a business.

Tulipsriver · 29/06/2026 14:41

These threads are so mean spirited. You've found someone's home (that they presumably put considerable effort into decorating to their taste) and put it on a forum specifically for people to judge and laugh at. Why?

pinkspeakers · 29/06/2026 14:42

Gosh that's weird!

Someone's had fun with the cushions.
