Turning a small room into a bedroom.

Not so much a trend but this thread does remind me of a huge mistake I made.

We were getting blinds for the whole of the upstairs. Had a man out to measure and go through what I wanted. At some point in the conversation I got confused and agreed that it was vertical blinds I wanted. In fairness I had a 3 day old baby and my brain was scrambled. When they got fitted and we realised my mistake it was too late to change so we had to stick with bedrooms that looked like naff offices for a couple of years. We have lovely shutters now but I still remember that sinking feeling when I realised what I had done.

Is that the fairy skip the soak power spray?

@Mackerelfillets No,the washing up liquid only. I found that the Platinum /max power one degreases better than the normal (cheaper) fairy liquid. Just put a blob of it onto the mark and leave it for a bit then wipe off.

It's the sinking feeling. Two years out of them is good going though.

I've got sofa that's way too big for the room. DH pointed it out but I stuck to my guns, until it was delivered.

It's the proverbial in the living room and not spoken about.

Anything my partner likes. He has absolutely no taste. If left to him my house would look like a 1950s film set. But being specific putting a shower in our downstairs toilet. Absolutely rubbish idea. No one uses it and I would much prefer a cupboard because we haven't got enough storage.

Just cap it off, fit shelves and replace the shower door with cupboard doors. Always need storage. If you sell - its an easy option for new buyers to reinstate if they wish (stick the shower door in the loft) - or reinstate it yourself to sell as might well add value? Some people love downstairs showers if you have dogs, sporty kids, tradie partner etc.
