Turning a small room into a bedroom.

changed a rectangle arch from one room to another into a curved arch!! It was many years ago though. Looks so old fashioned now so going to change it back to exactly how it was!

Before you do…curved arches are very on trend!

mumma24 · 05/06/2025 04:17

LaLaLaLavaChChChChicken · 05/06/2025 04:32

Striped stair carpet.

Black taps in bathroom - show every mark.

Yes I did hear that but thought they must be mistaken!!

ffsgloria · 05/06/2025 08:53

Bifold doors as the only exit. Too many spotlights.

LettingyougoMovingOn · 05/06/2025 08:54

The gunmetal grey

Profpudding · 05/06/2025 08:55

I’m so glad the grey trend is dying. My daughter’s house looks like a prison yard.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 05/06/2025 08:56

Not us but previous owners made the downstairs open plan.
really don’t like sitting in the lounge listening to the dishwasher!

comoatoupeira · 05/06/2025 08:58

Grey

Chiseltip · 05/06/2025 09:00

Buying one . . .

Nicecuppatea2025 · 05/06/2025 09:03

Marble tiled bathroom and gold taps etc. Only went in a couple of years ago, too. Stupid idea.

Oh I still love striped stair carpets.

Black skirting boards for the same reason, they are horrendous for showing dust within seconds of being dusted.

I would love a curved arch!

FalseSpring · 05/06/2025 09:12

Grey kitchen - they are wood so can be painted but I will probably never get around to it.

Marble as in the Carrera I think they call it type marble the white and grey ?
Have you gone off it?

babystarsandmoon · 05/06/2025 09:19

Grey carpets but I only had them fitted a year ago. I wanted cream/beige but the fitter said no as he’s was worried about marking them while fitting. I stuck with him as I’ve had him do various houses over the past 15 years.

I regret the panelling I did in a bedroom too but thankfully it’s one wall and I never did any more rooms.

Yes exactly that. To be fair, the tiled walls are fine - actually they do look really good - but the floor shows up every little last spec of DH enormous amounts of shedded chest hair dust. And all the ‘gold’ has rubbed off the taps. Annoying!!

Like any bathroom though, it always looks better clean. Maybe I should clean it more often 😂

That’s good to hear. I have it on the walls already and I was going to do a wooden flooring tile just cause it felt a bit like a Greek temple if it was on the floor and the wall walls.
But you are right cleaning definitely helps the aesthetics 🤣

IOnlyWantSexMoneyPowerAndRevenge · 05/06/2025 09:41

Buying this house. 🤣

Knocking a wall down. Id have actually preferred 2 small rooms than one big room. Now we have no privacy and we're all under each other's feet all the time. Plus its drafty and somehow gives us less furniture options.

I always wanted bifold doors (we cant in this house anyway) but I suspect I'd have regretted those.

crossstitchingnana · 05/06/2025 10:51

In the minority, my house is mostly grey and I love it.

HairyToity · 05/06/2025 10:54

I've regretted some furniture I've bought. That's about it though.

Invisablepanic · 05/06/2025 11:02

Black taps and shower head in the ensuite. Oversized stand alone bath, looks amazing but it's actually too long for me and I'm just over 5"8.

Waterfall quartz worktop. I like the actual worktop but I think the waterfall sides aren't classic.

TheAmusedQuail · 05/06/2025 11:04

Grey. I loved and still like grey. But it just took the place of magnolia (which I've always loathed). Have eradicated it from my home.

Open plan. I wish, wish, wish my living room was still two separate rooms. While I enjoy the level of light from windows at both ends, a single smaller living room would be so much easier to keep cosy in winter.

KittytheHare · 05/06/2025 11:09

I can’t believe that curved archways are back in! Am planning to square ours off in any case.
