Don’t you think you could be very happy here?

It's beautiful but you would never be warm!

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 20/12/2024 18:31

No. Way overpriced. Too big for me too. And too far away from my family.

I'd get rid of the wrinkly carpet, but could then be happy and cold!

Interesting it’s been on the market as 2 separate properties for ages….

minipie · 20/12/2024 18:37

Absolutely gorgeous

Garden’s not big enough for the grandeur of the house though.

Also it’s oddly laid out - presumably was flats or similar as has 3 kitchens - and making changes would be tricky given Grade II listed status

Ilovemyshed · 20/12/2024 18:44

Too big, too difficult to insulate as its listed. No for me!

unmemorableusername · 20/12/2024 18:49

It's not doing anything for me.

Overlooked & gloomy. Must be in a right state to not show all the rooms. Hate former/attic rooms.

It's bland. If it was £600k maybe but no more.

Gekko21 · 20/12/2024 19:19

It's a hard no from me. Looks like it needs a lot of modernising, which would be very costly. It has a very cold and unloved feel, but probably just requires TLC. I've no idea whether it's worth the price as it's in a different league to what I could afford, but unless you had a string of children, it would be far too big and quite impractical.

Nellieinthebarn · 20/12/2024 19:22

Its lovely, but I would not be happy there. I'm not adverse to a Georgian manor in principle, but for that money I would want more land, and I would not live in London by choice. Or any city, come to that.

PebbledashDreams · 20/12/2024 19:22

If you prefer a more modern style and can stretch your budget to £10m, there’s this in Richmond, built in 2004:

I love it. Almost my dream house. (Actual dream house is in Spitalfields, Princelet Street.)

TiramisuCheesecake · 20/12/2024 19:24

That house is lovely - but agree, fecking freezing. Single glazed windows, high ceilings, tiny little radiators for massive rooms, no insulation.... No thanks.

I'd rather have this one not too far from where I am now - potential to make it absolutely gorgeous. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/148828637#/?channel=RES_BUY

Think it might be on the flight path for Heathrow also …. 😩

Patienceinshortsupply · 20/12/2024 19:30

It's beautiful. No navy blue kitchen/rose gold taps, no islands and no bifold doors.

Hate to think what someone will do to it though Sad

Oh - it really is in the middle of things, isn’t it!
This is the Google Streetview.

They should have kept hold of all the gardens they had in 1600!!

No too big for me regardless of any money I may have if I could afford that

Haha! I guess you might get an ok one bed flat in Kew for 600k

SquirrelyWirrally · 20/12/2024 19:37

Wrong side of the railway line for me. The roads on the other side are much nicer

I agree. I would save my self a couple of million and buy one of the lovely victorian detached houses on the roads off kew Road for roughly 5 mil.

Fizbosshoes · 20/12/2024 19:43

It looks amazing but I feel cold just thinking about being in there!
And too big, it would be a nice house to go and stay in with relatives (who had to pay for the upkeep, and heating, and keep it clean and tidy! 🤣)

PlantDoctor · 20/12/2024 19:44

Love Kew but I'd be happier with the money! 🤑
