And it's not mine sadly!!

Not for me. Don't like the navy blue kitchen. And there is far too much 'stuff' everywhere which suggests no storage which is not good.

SnoopySantaPaws · 12/12/2024 01:35

SabreIsMyFave · 11/12/2024 22:50

Nope. Too much dark brown, grey, black, and white. Too cluttered, ceilings too low, odd layout. Not appealing to me at all. Also right on the main high street, and no garden at the front.

Why on earth is it a million pounds? Confused I wouldn't pay HALF that!

Are you sure it's not yours @ineedtowomanup ??? Or does it belong to someone you know, and you're trying to plug it for them? Wink

Depends on what area you want to live in. A million wouldn't buy you much more than a 3 bed (slightly) detached here.

Don't like the house. Whoever you're promoting it for @ineedtowomanup

timetodecide2345 · 12/12/2024 02:50

It's right on a main road. The garden looks minuscule and it's full of clutter. Nah!

Monty27 · 12/12/2024 03:02

I would say the rooms look tiny and it's more cramped than cluttered

Spirallingdownwards · 11/12/2024 22:14

Is it yours? Are you trying to get extra publicity? It's nice enough but not something I would be linking as being stunning.

That was my thought too - that it’s OP’s!

MsXmasGGMasterTwat · 12/12/2024 03:07

A mixture of ordinary, dark and try hard for me.

GoodnightIrene · 12/12/2024 03:07

Radishknot · 11/12/2024 22:13

It’s very homely but not really my taste. I know this road, lots of attractive houses but don’t like the idea your front door opens straight onto the street.

Yep, that would be an immediate "no" from me.

YouveGotNoBloodyIdea · 12/12/2024 08:35

FKAT · 11/12/2024 22:26

I quite like it. And were it not for the hats and baskets, I could see it being owned by two charming gentlemen antique dealers.

That was my take too!

Heronwatcher · 12/12/2024 09:52

Nope, nice enough but hugely ordinary. Hate the fact the door opens onto the pavement and road. Low ceilings, don’t like the black shiny floors downstairs (tiles or original floorboards would have been much nicer), don’t like the stairs going out of the kitchen (also a massive fire risk) or the black bathroom and much too much stuff everywhere. I do like the garden though and I know the area is nice.

Bluevelvetsofa · 12/12/2024 11:40

Downstairs is dark, the kitchen is quite narrow and it would be a nightmare to keep all the stuff on the shelves clean.

Too cluttered, but upstairs is better. Don’t care for the layout.

charlieinthehaystack · 12/12/2024 11:45

think they call it a coach house. definitely cluttered would find all the low ceilings oppressive especially kitchen would need changing a bit to make it worth the money to be honest

Chewbecca · 12/12/2024 11:53

I like the decor, room shapes and fabric choices.

Not keen on the clutter (which I know would be removed!), the dark rear of the house or the overlooked garden.

It's a pass from me.

S/he says it is not their house

Eastie77Returns · 12/12/2024 12:12

I don’t know if it’s the dark theme throughout the house but it seems as if there isn’t much natural light.

Not sure we needed so many samey pics of the pink and orange garden sofa/cushions and shots of the outside of the house.

When you’re selling, your pictures really need to almost tell a story so buyers can picture themselves in the house doing xyz: relaxing in that spacious lounge, cooking up a storm in the bright airy kitchen etc. The house is nice enough but there’s just too much going on and masses of clutter so hard to see the house for what it really is and envisage yourself in it.

Angrymum22 · 12/12/2024 12:19

Busy high street and ceilings too low. All the men in my family are well over 6’. We call these houses “Hobbit holes”.

Samesame47 · 12/12/2024 12:52

It would be a definite no from me, I would be put of by the following:

on the high street
lack of parking
walking straight from street into the living room
downstairs doesn’t have any flow
don’t like the shape of the kitchen
garden is overlooked

I quite like some of the colours used but that’s the only nice thing I can find about it.

FeegleFrenzy · 12/12/2024 12:58

I like higgeldy piggedy cottage type houses but this would be a no from me. Mainly for being on a busy A road, right on it, no front garden to set it back. Plus the lack of parking, being on the pavement, no hallway. Big fat no.

ATastingMenuButItsAllCrisps · 12/12/2024 14:38

I'm not stunned by anything other than the price. For a million quid it would need to have zero neighbours, be very rural, have a pool, and need nothing done to it. As a bare minimum.

It would also need to be in a cheaper location.

FeegleFrenzy · 12/12/2024 15:02

Or this one on the same road for nearly 200k cheaper. Similar cottage but nicer inside and I think a bit bigger? Same problem of busy road and no hallway. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/151685888#/?channel=RES_BUY www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/151685888#/?channel=RES_BUY]]]]

massive price difference

charlieinthehaystack · 12/12/2024 15:46

bit more open but maybe gone too far the other way all the moderness has destroyed any character.

hodgepodgehedgehog · 12/12/2024 16:52

It has some stylish touches but not sure it all hangs together. Mainly, the problem is being flush fronted to a busy High Street (I have walked along there!). For a million I'd want detached and front garden which is perfectly possible in the Midlands.

S/he says it is not their house

Yes but I suspect it actually is. It's not that great a house that someone would say wow this is stunning and start a thread about. Therefore my conclusion is it is actually her house and she is simply trying to boost publicity to get it sold.
