I like the garden but not the house.

Nope. Too much dark brown, grey, black, and white. Too cluttered, ceilings too low, odd layout. Not appealing to me at all. Also right on the main high street, and no garden at the front.

Why on earth is it a million pounds? Confused I wouldn't pay HALF that!

Are you sure it's not yours @ineedtowomanup ??? Or does it belong to someone you know, and you're trying to plug it for them? Wink

FoolishHips · 11/12/2024 22:51

Henley in Arden high street is amazingly lovely but I'm not sure I'd want to live on it...it's very busy.

SoupDragon · 11/12/2024 22:53

I find it a very jarring mix of modern and old. Nice to see a house with personality rather than bland staging though,

I also couldn't live with ceilings that low.

Parratha · 11/12/2024 22:54

It's nothing special IMO and it's on the main road through Henley-on-Arden. People walk along the pavement and look through the windows as it's right on to the pavement and even worse the traffic drives through there like it's a racetrack.

Far too expensive.

hockeyme · 11/12/2024 22:55

Meh. It's ok. Also looks like it's on a main road. The traffic noise would annoy me

Printedword · 11/12/2024 22:56

Mmmkaay · 11/12/2024 22:11

Really? Some nice features but it's over cluttered and fairly ordinary! Taste a bit naff if I'm being really honest...

Every room immaculately tidy and tastefully dressed. Zero clutter

AnxiousRose · 11/12/2024 22:58

Its fine but too dark and cluttered for me.

ineedtowomanup · 11/12/2024 22:58

Nope not mine I've always wanted a quaint house like this and love the idea of Warwickshire.

However DH is 6ft 2 and kids on the same track! So we can't live anywhere like this.

Trixiefirecracker · 11/12/2024 22:58

It’s awful. No taste in decor.

Littletreefrog · 11/12/2024 22:59

Nope. The house I live in now is straight onto the pavement and I would never live in one again when we hopefully finally move out of this one.

CagedSilverFrame · 11/12/2024 23:01

It’s not huge, but I like it.
Love the main fireplace, years ago I wanted the floral tiles, I’d still have them now, but they were too expensive at the time.
Some lovely furniture and touches.

SereneCapybara · 11/12/2024 23:02

Not to my taste - too gloomy downstairs - all those cold dark floor tiles in the living rooms, narrow kitchen with stairs right off it - cooking smells would go right through the house. And front door onto the street. For a million pounds, nowhere near London, that staggers me.

ForRubyRobin · 11/12/2024 23:02

I live close to this house. I love Henley in Arden but I wouldn't pay that much for that house. Nearby areas like ullenhall and wooton wawen would get a lot more house and grounds for the money

SensitivePetal · 11/12/2024 23:05

To me it looks like a house having a bit of an identity struggle. Like the sensible partner in the marriage was in charge of the kitchen and bathrooms, and then someone else got free reign over the weird living room with the ghoulish open-mouthed fireplace.

I love the place in the wye valley linked up thread. Now that is a great house. Hopefully far enough up the hill not to be a flood risk …

SoloSofa24 · 11/12/2024 22:34

Stunning? Really? I don't know the area, but a house opening straight onto the pavement with lots of small rooms and a rather gloomy style of decor doesn't say 'stunning' to me.

If I were fantasy house shopping with roughly that sort of budget, I'd be more excited about somewhere like this, which really does have stunning views: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/152608568#/?channel=RES_BUY

Omg this house is truly stunning!!!!

SensitivePetal · 11/12/2024 23:08

Also.. look closely at the pic of the mirror above the fireplace: it looks to be reflecting several wigs on mannequins 😂

Your house then? 😉

Junaluma · 11/12/2024 23:27

I live nearby so I’m somewhat familiar with the area. It’s quite a busy road on a main high street. I definitely wouldn’t spend £1m on this property. Henley is overrated imo.

I'd like to see it empty or without all the dark paint, a bit gloomy.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 12/12/2024 00:03

I find it a bit creepy TBH.

NewMe2024 · 12/12/2024 00:09

I can’t get past the bad decor that creeps me out in several places. The house underneath it is probably fine but nothing I’d feel the urge to post about, sorry OP.

That house isn't that far from me - pretty straightforward commute to London, around 2 hours, maybe a little bit more......it's a beautiful area. I moved out here from London in 2001 and have never regretted it!
