Hi
planing a new kitchen. Chosen neffs slide and hide oven. Should I bother with pyrolitic option? It’s £87 extra.

thanks!!

YES! I have pyrolytic and its brilliant! My oven is 18 and apart from a little wear on the wire shelves looks new still. Cleaning is great, just turn to pyrolytic (mine has 3 settings depending on how dirty the oven is - I've only ever used to lowest) and walk away. Come back when it's cooled down and wipe with a damp cloth. I would never go back to an oven I needed to clean using chemicals and elbow grease!

catsnore · 03/12/2024 21:30

Yes! So much easier than standard cleaning.

AuntyEntropy · 03/12/2024 21:31

Yes, but you need to make sure that your electrics have got enough oomph to power it.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 03/12/2024 21:34

Absolutely yes

allgrownupnow · 03/12/2024 21:38

Worth every penny!!'
Ooo, oven's looking a bit grubby

  • twists knob
  • gently wipes a bit of ash an hour or so later
Nice clean oven 😁
WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 03/12/2024 21:41

Bloody brilliant. I love the hide and slide slightly more than the pyrolytic cleaning option tbh.

But I hate having to remove the sides & shelves. My last neff I didn’t need to or I just didn’t pay enough attention to the instructions!

Brilliant love mine, makes oven cleaning so easy

Thanks all! I was thinking that for £89 extra … that’s 2 years of paying someone to clean it for me

will pass this to husband. We are getting whole kitchen rewireD as well so it might be possible.

I wouldn’t buy an oven without it. Although I’m less of a fan of neff after my mum’s experience. She’s had so many repairs (two issues but multiple visits to fix). I redid my kitchen during COVID and neff ovens were impossible to buy so settled for a hotpoint thinking I’d replace with a neff in a couple of years. I’m actually loving the hotpoint. But definitely pyrotechnic all the way.

😂 I never do that either. I did read it once but I’d already done it without and it didn’t explode so now I don’t bother.

everythingcrossed · 03/12/2024 21:53

Can I ask which oven you're looking at which has pyrolytic option for only £89 extra? It was several hundred quid more when I was looking a year or so ago. We're now moving and a new kitchen is part of the planned works.

fivepies · 03/12/2024 21:55

I would not buy a hide and slide oven again. We had one and the door mechanism failed just 3 days outside warranty. The engineer said it is common for the doors to fail. The replacement and fitting was too expensive, we ended up having to replace the oven. Also, the oven interior is smaller than normal (to allow space for the door to slide underneath).
But yes to pyrolytic!

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 03/12/2024 21:56

Hell yes! I have 2 Neff slide and hide with pyro and it's s god send! Especially after a roast dinner

its got 20% off because of the company I’m getting the kitchen with so probably there is a bit of discount in there.

100% yes. I’m a recent convert as we’ve only had our oven for a year but it was one of my must haves and I’m so pleased with it. I do take the shelves and sides out but it takes about a minute. The normal cleaning cycle gets about 95% off and the intensive one every 6 months or so makes it spotless. Just the thought of oven cleaning gels and scrubbing makes me shudder. I’ve become spoiled very quickly 😂

I may try one day but I’m slightly too chicken.

Yes. Yes. Yes

Abra1t · 04/12/2024 12:01

I love mine but the function does use up a lot of electricity—be warned.

Yes been told that tho I guess it’s not an every day use so will be spikes during the year.

is it ok to have it next to the fridge ?

OP posts:
TheOliveFinch · 04/12/2024 12:54

We were advised to have a gap between oven and fridge so have another cupboard between, when the pyrolytic oven is going it chucks out a lot of heat

Yeah that’s what I thought. I could put the fridge at the end and the larder in between I guess

I'm on your other thread.

I would never not buy a pyrolytic oven. Every time I use it it makes me so happy. shiny oven. No effort.
