Hi I took the liberty of starting a new thread as I couldn't answer on the last one.

@kirinm I am glad you've decided I pull out. I wanted to suggest it but didn't want to stress you out. I hope the next house you view is the one and it all goes smoothly.

@ingkir I have just read all the search results. My son has helped with a couple of questions, I've left a message for my friend to help with something else and I am waiting for the solicitor to ring me back as they've attached someone else's details to the end of the paperwork 🙄. I'm distinctly unimpressed as of course potentially someone has mine and the whole stream could be wrong. Looking at what the emails say it is likely it is a one off but I needed to tell them. The receptionist was going to put me through to the solicitors secretary until I said why I was ringing. Already over the time of when she said she'd be back.

I still have a few things outstanding but I won't exchange until I have answers so I'll wait it out.

We've exchanged!

Vendor's husband pulled through and vendor happy to exchange and complete this Friday!

Roll on Friday, my nerves are in tatters 😂

Amazing! Congratulations 😊😊

BirthdayRainbow · 19/11/2024 14:21

No response from my vendors. Not surprised, all along they've been taking the full time allowed to answer questions.

All starting to get real here. Packers will be here tomorrow. House looks mental as all things from the loft are down now too. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed but just remembering I will be at work tomorrow while husband field's the madness of getting the house packed up.

Been feeling quite emotional about leaving this house. Its a lovely lovely house, we have just outgrown it. I was pregnant with my first when we moved here and gave birth to my second in the house. The kids are 6 and 8 now and to me this house represents becoming a parent and the baby years with them. All bloody hard work but the house holds so many memories!

Anyway. Waffling on. Feeling emotional but also knowing it's a good choice and looking forward to the new house.

BirthdayRainbow · 19/11/2024 20:12

That must be so hard @Cheeseandcrackers40 . I'm desperate to move as now this house is just the scene for heartbreak, it's wiped out the fact I had my two youngest children here, got several pets, made friends. I feel like I'll never get away.

Thinking of you today @Cheeseandcrackers40 . At least you can avoid some of the chaos today!
I feel the same about our house. We’ve put so much love into it over the last 10 years and transformed it. We arrived as a newly married couple with a 13 month old and we’re leaving with 2 DC aged 11 and 8!

The horrible agent and annoying buyer have soured the last few weeks and I just want to move now. Only 9 days left!

BirthdayRainbow · 20/11/2024 09:53

Hope it goes well today @Cheeseandcrackers40

Hope it goes well today @Cheeseandcrackers40 . Exactly the same here. I'm up in the lakes looking after my granddaughter and husband dealing with part one of pack up.
I haven't felt emotional about leaving my house at all. Although we've been there 25 years we've been planning this move for several years. The roller coaster journey we've had the past 10 months has meant any emotion I might have had has gone completely. My only pang is leaving my son behind. He is 34 though!

Hoolahoophop · 20/11/2024 10:32

Hope all is smooth today @Cheeseandcrackers40
Congratulations @lingmerth

We are meeting the mortgage man this week and have chosen a solicitors. So things can start moving along. Apparently now the sellers have finally accepted our offer they are keen to proceed as quickly as possible. So we will probably spend our Christmas holidays sorting through memories.

Like many of you our children both arrived in this house so will be sorry to see it go, but the new one offers more and sacrifices nothing. So we can make new memories there.

Muddledandmiddle · 20/11/2024 11:59

I feel resentful that I’ve lost all emotions towards my house. My children have grown here, we’ve been through so much here. But the stress of this means I just feel sick when I’m in there.

MotherOfRatios · 20/11/2024 12:14

Good luck @Cheeseandcrackers40

I hear you @Muddledandmiddle . I moved here with my dh and a new baby, had two more children and are now leaving alone with my pets, as my children are at uni or renting and have divorced their father who is a horrible acting person. I just want to get away and I'm going home- ish too which helps.

@BirthdayRainbow I'm sorry as I do know how you feel- there's a special kind of shittiness about splits /divorce after very long relationships as so many memories, friends etc are often tied up with that person- I often think it's what kept me in a marriage at points when I've been unhappy - we have actually moved 'a lot' in 29 years and rent , so I don't actually have the added issue of a strong emotional tie to a particular house

MotherOfRatios · 20/11/2024 13:37

I rang the estate agents to see if they have put my new offer to the seller and apparently they're having evaluation day so calls will be made today and I said what about tomorrow and they said we can't put it to the Seller tomorrow as we've got a team working day tomorrow?
Ive even drafted the 'I'm withdrawing email' I'm SO fed up

Twiglets1 · 20/11/2024 13:51

wow @MotherOfRatios you have such a shit EA, I'm sorry you are having to deal with that nonsense.

I said it takes 30 minutes, they said sorry we can't help further. If there was a lot of property in London under £300k I would have pulled out but there's not which is why I'm still waiting

0hshutupshirley · 20/11/2024 13:57

God that's nuts. I'm in London too. Which agent is this? Not asking for location obviously but wondering if it's a chain or an independent

0hshutupshirley · 20/11/2024 13:58

Could you put it through the solicitors maybe?

Could you go over your EA head and phone again asking to speak to the manager? (hoping for your sake they aren't the manager)

Yes it's not the solicitors job but the EAs.

I'm currently trying to find out who is the area manager as the branch manager is dealing with the chain as other people in the estate agency
