@YeahComeOnThen Rhyl is ok, not great. It was fab back in the 90s when I was growing up but it's gone downhill since unfortunately (although they have tried bringing it back to life and invested money into the town in recent years) but the majority of the shops in the town centre have shut down and I'm pretty sure it has one of the highest unemployment rates in North Wales. It's also around 15-20 minutes from the main dual carriageway making journeys slightly longer. Scousers and Mancs seem to love it though as they're always here in the summer 😂. Basically it's great for a mini holiday but I wouldn't want to live there all year round. Prestatyn might be a better option but there are nicer parts of N Wales imo.
I'd avoid Rhyl, Kinmel Bay (also known as criminal bay), Towyn and Pensarn.
If you have a good budget I'd suggest upper Abergele, Llanddulas, Old Colwyn (some parts), Colwyn Heights, Rhos on Sea, Penrhyn Bay, Deganwy and Conwy or you could head further towards Dwygyfylchi, Penmaenmawr, Llanfairfechan or even Anglesey.
I've lived here my whole life and despite what people say it's a nice place to grow up, raise a family, safe, lovely views and scenery and is still close to Liverpool, Manchester etc if you want a day out/weekend away. Hope that helps 😊
