I know it’s usually price but this seems v reasonable for the area?

only issue I can see is bedrooms maybe being small/strange shapes?

I think I’m in love with it 😂not that it’s in my current budget

Too poky.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 27/08/2024 18:27

My question is where would I keep all of my stuff? There's no space for wardrobes because of the shape of the ceilings, it's a nice house but I think it would work better as a holiday home than to live in

Tulipvase · 27/08/2024 18:28

Maybe it’s a divorcing couple and one half isn’t keen to sell.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 27/08/2024 18:29

Also the floor plan shows loads more rooms than the photos, why?

Anonym00se · 27/08/2024 18:29

I think it’s something more sinister. Maybe it was built a site that’s leaking toxic waste, prone to flooding, the roof is knackered, or it’s next door to a travelling community site. I’m sure it would have been snapped up without there being a major problem somewhere.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 27/08/2024 18:29

Too B&M.

Makes you wonder if the building and electrical work was also done on the cheap.

MeMyselfandIsland · 27/08/2024 18:32

Interesting views thank you!

I did wonder if it was next to some planning but haven’t found anything.

agreed about the poky - seem to have make a huge house feel small with too much furniture/decor (clutter)

It looks amazing to me but my budget would be about 600k max, so I guess it's going to.

They say "in excess of" so who knows what that means.

I always imagine these having come from conversation

Seller "How much?" "We expected it to be worth at least 1.5m"
Agent "No, I think in this market you will be looking at £1.2m but of course you have a very unique property"
Seller "We really are not happy with £1.2m can we market at offers over?"
Agent "Yes, we can try that"

Agent goes away happy to get £1.2 owner still has £1.5m in his head.

Some.agents won't care if it sells as they make money from.other stuff. They just need to have the stock on the books looking good.

Wow that’s a paradox! So large yet so small. So much character yet also so dead and lifeless.

They really need a stager and a declutter.

yesmen · 27/08/2024 18:38

I don't like it at all!

The lateral expanse is too much.

All i can think of when I look at it is I would never find my phone in it! 😁

Perfectly put.

The only person I know that's ever lived in anything that big, lost a child in an accident at the other end of their "estate". I've often wondered if they would have survived if they been closer by when they fell and help could have been called quicker.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 27/08/2024 18:41

Id expect way more space (bigger rooms) looking at that house from the outside. Disappointing!

Also fewer people looking in that price range I’d imagine, so slower sales? A guess.

Spomb · 27/08/2024 18:42

So many spotlights!! I hate spotlights.

SiobhanSharpe · 27/08/2024 18:47

Bedrooms much too small for the price. Also oddly sterile. (Not a problem really, I suppose, but it ciuld have been better presented. )

BrieHugger · 27/08/2024 18:47

The bedrooms are ridiculously small for a house that size, it would definitely put me off. It’d make a good Airbnb party house, though!

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 27/08/2024 18:50

What is the yard or industrial, site at the back of the house? It looks like a wastesite.

Frustyfusty · 27/08/2024 18:54

I suppose it's always the case in large houses, but the kitchen seems miles away from the living room and the rest of the downstairs.

Is it a new build/conversion? What was there before?

invisiblecat · 27/08/2024 18:54

The nearest town is Sandy, which is grim.

The other thing that doesn't show up on the photos is that it looks from the satellite view as though it is next door to a breaker's yard.

Meadowfinch · 27/08/2024 18:58

A lot of quite small bed rooms.

Also there aren't many people who want an acre of ground. It isn't enough for equine use but takes a lot of looking after. I think that reduces the potential buyer pool.

Ah, well that will be it.

MeMyselfandIsland · 27/08/2024 19:07

sandy is a bit nothing-y but it’s super close to the train station which I thought would be interesting for London commuters at least

If you look at the pictures and on street view, you can see that the house is back to back with another property. The back of the property is entirely overlooked/overshadowed by the property behind. All the land belonging to it is to the front - there's no back garden at all. I wonder whether that's why there's no pictures of a lot of the rooms, as you'd be able to see how overlooked it was from the bedroom windows.

The pictures are quite deliberately misleading as they make it look like it's on its own in the middle of nowhere, but it's practically a semi. Anyone coming to view probably gets a nasty shock!

Maxpanda · 27/08/2024 19:13

I would get lost in there 😂
